It is a good game to challenge your vocabulary and for the price it is actually a good deal. We had a hard time getting into the game because although we like word games, too often we got stuck with letter combinations that didn't amount to any word we knew.

To summarize: Word Sense pretty much consists of a bunch of plastic tiles with letters on them. Each person takes turns being a "chooser" in which the chooser says how many letter tiles will be used to make a word. For instance if the chooser says 3 then three random tiles are grabbed and flipped over simultaneously. The moment they are flipped over you have to quickly guess a word containing all of the letters. It is easy if you get "A" "C" "D", you can say "CADDY" or "ACID" etc. But pull "Q" "X" and "L" then what do you say? There were several dead moments in which we couldn't think of words and those moments just kill the fun atmosphere.

The game allows you to make it easier by taking out the "hard" letters such as "Q,X,Y, and Z" as well as the double letters such as "LL, TH, SH" and a couple of others.

It is an O.K. game but it won't be the hit of the party.
