V.Smile Art Studio

Big Christmas LetdownI too bought this for my child for Christmas, she also has the other v-tech unit and enjoys playing her games on it. When my husband said that he saw this art studio I thought great because she loves to draw. When we opened it on Christmas it was such a disapointment. The unit kept cutting off, you had to press really hard to get the pen moving and it was frustrating to my 4 year old so I had to take it back to the store because we thought it was something wrong with the unit, and have not been able to get another one since they have been out of stock at all the Toys r us stores I have been to. And now I see all the bad reviews for it and know why. I am glad that I am not the only parent who had a problem with this unit so now I know it was not my lack of understanding what to do. It was the unit that was all wrong While I love V-Tech and their toys this one needs a lot of work in order to keep the interest of smaller children who loves to draw and for the parents for that matter who may want to play with the children. I would just turn it off!!
My Kids Love ItI bought this recently for my daughters' for their birthdays which are one week apart. My oldest turned 8 and my middle one turned 5. They love Vtech items, which they have the Vsmile game system and the Vsmile pocket, so I figured this would be great too. They both love to draw and they love the Vsmile Art Studio. Although, sometimes especially when they first got it, they were a little frustrated that you could not see the drawing on the drawing pad, only on the t.v. But now they are used to it. They love seeing their artwork on the "big screen". I would recommend this game for anybody who has a budding artist in their life. Anytime my kids feel bored I say, go play Art Studio and they are all too happy to do it. Even my two year old gets benefits from this. They have a mixing colors game and my baby is learning his colors. He already knew some of them, but he is learning more.
A Pleased toddler & mommyMy 3 year old loves the Art Studio. He especially loves the Free draw and the color mixing. I like the drawing lessons where it shows him how to draw a shape or figure, then allows him to trace it or try on his own. Improvements would be to add another game or more (there are two - if I remember correctly), and allow more mixing of colors. It's really a fun and entertaining product.
Thank you.

Not Perfect...but nicely doneHaving previously bought the NX-01 and NCC-1701A models by Art Asylum, my expectations were high. Overall I am pleased. The basic shape and details on the toy are well done and correct to the ship as seen in the features. This is especially nice when compred to the two previously released Playmates versions of the same ship, which were horribly inaccurate. So in the areas of sculpting and modeling, this version is superb.
The one area that I was disappointed in was in the paint-job. Some of the colors used seem far too 'contrast-y' compared to the way the model and CGI version appear on screen. When compared with footage from the films, the gray patches on the secondary hull of the toy seem really dark, whereas the film shots show a much more subtle grade of shading overall.
I was also slightly disappointed that the blue areas of the Nacelles did not light up, and that the alternate hull bottom without the mounting hole( included with the previous Art Asylum ships ) has apparently been dropped for future releases.
Still, overall I would recommend this toy for those like me who don't care to build models much anymore.

Don't buy this toy This is the first review I have taken the time to write on Amazon. This toy is as bad as others have said. So much is wrong with the design - but the worst thing is that the reflective panels do not stay in place- I wanted to think that they MUST lock in place somehow. Has Rainbow Art tested this product? I was hoping to read some Amazon reviews of Digidraw to find out if anyone had a remedy for the panels slipping- The remedy is to return the toy. I will quickly say that the reflected image is a blurry shadow - my boy's can do better freehand. Please don't waste your money!
Digi Draw = Cheap Piece of JUNKThis "art tool" is basically two plastic panels that POORLY reflect an image on paper. There is nothing to this toy. Looks like the manufacturer spent a lot of effort on packaging and marketing and put NO effort into the product. Also, the name "digi" is hysterical, there is nothing digital about the product - the 2 plastic panels are inside a case that resemble a laptop. LOL!
Big waste of money! You get better results tracing images the good old fashioned way when using parchment or tracing paper.

What????How can anyone be 'extremly dissapointed' with somthing like this? Despite this products said flaws, what is it that you people expect? I dont think that any of your children will be perminantly scared or anything of the sort. People, please.

family game:chronologyexcellent to spend quality time with your family. Very educational game with no conflicts or discussions arising from playing the game
Games for the thinking familyI am not normally a game player - board games have always been my downfall.
This is a exception and one that I'm sending to my nieces and nephews. Fast moving, makes you think and interact and perhaps best of all for someone like me who is over 40, let's me get revenge on my kids since video game "twitch skills" don't figure in!
Great game for the holidaysYou needn't be a history buff to play, but it sure can take a smirk off the face of the "smarty pants" in your crowd. My dad did that to my mom and I last Thanksgiving, whipping us two games in a row, and he's not much of a game player, reader, or student of history. It made for a great game for the those of us who know our history, and those of us who don't (i.e., you can get pretty far with an educated guess).

A Great DeskWe bought this desk for our son's 4th birthday. He loves it! It has ample room for storage on the sides for his coloring books, paper, etc. We love all of the compartments to house the markers, glue, pencils, etc.
I put it together when my husband wasn't home, and I had no problems at all!
Our daughter is 2, and we will be purchasing this desk for her this coming Christmas. We highly recommend purchasing this desk!

Grandson's deskI bought this desk for my grandson six years ago. When he outgrew it I gave it to my sister for her grandson. I now have it back for my two year old grandsons. It still looks like it did the day I bought it(with a little help from bleach & water).I'm sure when they are finished with the desk I will be able to pass it on to the next little one in our family.
Art/ Homework DesksBoth my kids received this desk for Christmas... my 4 year old and my 7 year old. The 7 year old will probably outgrow it soon but he loves it... He said he can't wait to do his homework on it. It has a built in light. My 4 year old loves hers too. I was tired of them ruining my kitchen table with all of their art supplies. Now the art supplies stay on their desks, nicely organized. The desks have plenty of storage and are easy to clean. The are easy to assemble, my 7 year old helped.

Pokemon Virtual Trainer Basic Figure Pack: Brawly with Alakazam & Charizaro

Utterly dissapointing...for me and my sons!!!I purchased one of these and one of the comparable pokemon virtual trainer packs for my kids (5&7) for christmas. I thought the comments from manufacturer about how children can enjoy dueling each other or playing by themselves sounded great, and both my little guys love pokemon.
I admit it...I'm NOT a pokemon master, so when the toys arrived I simply wrapped them and put them under the tree...didn't notice anything wrong and they actually looked pretty cute.
Christmas morning comes, kids open their gifts, love the pokemon sets, open the rest of their presents, then say " we don't have a battle arena to play with our pokemon trainers!". They were so sweet about it, but I could tell they were quite dissapointed.
Turns out theres a whole game system called a V-Trainer 2.0 Electronic Battle Arena that is necessary to play with these trainers!!!!! Yes, that red game system shown in EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE of the photos of these pokemon toys does not come with these, and is absolutely essential to play with this toy.
I've spent over a week desperately searching for every variation of v trainer 2.0 electronic battle arena, but still have not been able to find this product. If I actually do find it, whoohoo...my kids finally get to stop being dissapointed and get to play with the toy, but now I have to spend what?>>>> $ another $50 or $60 getting them each a battle arena?
The worst option is that I'm never able to find these battle arenas, and in that case these toys are as good as trash.
IN MY OPINION, THE AD FOR THIS TOY IS MISLEADING AT BEST.....I FINALLY LOCATED THE TEENSY TINY SMALL PRINT SAYING THE BATTLE ARENA ISN'T INCLUDED, BUT IT CERTAINLY ISN'T SOMETHING THAT THE AVERAGE PARENT WOULD KNOW....VERGES ON FALSE ADVERTISING, IN MY OPINION.
To make matters worse....I've called 2 of our local toysrus stores....they've never heard of the necessary battle dome. Search engine here doesn't seem to locate it.
If anyone has been able to locate this elusive battle dome, 2.0, please post it so I can finally give my kids the toy I thought I was giving them on Christmas morning.
Terrible terrible ad....read carefully, and if you don't have v trainer 2.0 electronic battle arena, don't bother. Might as well throw the toy in the garbage, which is probably what we'll end up having to do. Big big dissapointment for my kids.
