There's little to criticize about Play Doh as far as a fun, squooshy and classic toy to spark imaginative playtime for youngsters; however, this pretend kitchen leaves much to be improved upon. First off, the table on the side does not stay put. The leg is constantly tipping over with the slightest movements, making it frustrating to set up. The cookie press is fun to create various shapes, but the receptacle doesn't hold much dough, so after about half an inch of squeezing out the design, you need to clean it out and refill. The recipe cards offer creative and fun to make dishes, and the utencils are cute, but I doubt most children can really enjoy hours with this toy.

My daughter got this for x-mas and she really likes it a lot. She doesn't use the table because it doesn't stay on very well. And to tell you the truth we had a hard time putting the table on. DUH!!!
The press to make shapes does not work well at all. More play doh comes out of the sides then comes out in shapes. For the price kids will like it. But don't expect to much.

I got this for my 3 year old nephew at Christmas time and he still plays with this for hours. This is the one creative toy for a kid that will keep them entertained for a long time.

These paints are more soap than paint. When your fingers are wet the paints slide right off them, so it's extremely difficult to a: get them on your fingers to begin with and b: apply them to any surface at all. They have barely any pigment and don't stick to the side of the tub. Don't waste your money.

This product is nothing more than colored soap that does not adhere well to tile or tub. My two year old son loved this stuff for about 30 seconds. Do not buy this!

I bought this for my 2+ year old daughter and it has been her favorite bath toy. When the paints ran out we used the plastic hand as a palette for fingerpaints or to hold other crafty things. We tried other bath paints that were less expensive but the texture and color choices were significantly inferior.

My son and I just finished making this car. It was a fun project!

Great idea! The bound book is sweet, not cheesy at all, nice quality. Makes a great gift for grandparents. My teenagers even enjoyed making them.

I bought this kit for my 6 year old daughter. She couldn't wait to start drawing. She dictated the story for each page and drew extra "love notes" on the remaining pages, and even deticated it to her Nan Nan. We opted to add the "About the auther" with a photo! My daughter did get impatient waiting for the book to come back,.. but since Katrina the mail has been very unreliable. Finally, her package arrived and she LOVED it! We rushed it right over to her Nan Nan. It is a perfect little book, that will be cherished forever. I've already bought 2 more!!

Wonderful product. We bought this as a gift for my son's 7th birthday as a fun incentive to get him a little writing and spelling practice. He loved to make his own books at home with computer paper and the stapler, so a real book was a huge hit. He thought this was great because it is a real bound book with his own words and pictures. His book will be a cherished keepsake and I'm sure it will be great fun to look at when he is grown.

I just took this toy out of the box for my 3 year old son. I had to swipe the "eraser" back and forth about 8 times for the image on the screen to erase. It is now back in the box and ready to go back to the store. Don't waste your time or your money!!

I have since seen other similar complaints on several websites and have written to polyconcept. I have to date gotten no satisfaction from either crayola or polyconcept. The lines are blurry, there is no focus to begin with. But the real problem is that the projector detaches constantly from the base, whenever you move it, touch it, etc. The dry erase markers don't erase from the board; and the light stopped working after the second time my son played with it. I can't fathom buying a new light bulb at $4.95 + s&h after a total hour of use in two sessions. I think it's probably wiring; who knows; but it's a disappointing flimsy cheap piece of garbage.

Our daughter received this for Christmas 2005, and we couldn't wait to open it for her. It is very easy to assemble, and the first time you write on the board it's great. When you try to erase your art, it won't erase! The magnetic board is cheaply made, and absolutely will not completely erase, no matter how many times you swipe the eraser bar. We were VERY disappointed with this item, and would recommend that if you are considering this toy for your child, you should pass. Get them a Magna Doodle instead, those work wonderfully!

I ordered this item for my grandson who is 7 and really into Magnetix but he got lots for Christmas so I just kept this one at my home so everyone can enjoy it there when he or other grandchildren/other children come to visit. Magnetix are GREAT fun for all! Great product for Amazon to offer.

My son received this toy as a gift when he was about 8 months old. Although at first he had little interest in it, he gradually found ways to play with it, and two months later it gets a fair amount of use.

I like that there is room to hide other toys (rattles, teethers) in the bowl with the fish. I also like that my son can't hurt himself with this very soft toy. He really does enjoy playing with the sea-critters individually.

On the negative side, the bowl itself doesn't seem to interest him at all, aside from its ability to hold things. Also there is a noticeable plasticky smell, especially when the toy is in the sun or any warm spot.

Overall though I think this is a pretty good toy that can provide a lot of fun for a 6+ month old baby.

I was just shopping for a shower gift and had to pick this up! We received an older version of this toy for our daughter when she was an infant. It was great for sensory stimulation--each fish has a different sound or texture to explore, and the whole set is very colorful and visually interesting. But I figured that this toy would go into the attic before very long...not so! My husband and daughter started playing "basketball" with it, tossing the sea creatures into the bowl from a distance. They still play with it this way occasionally, and my little girl is now four years old. Also, when she entered the imaginative play stage, she would assign a personality/identity to each creature (i.e. mommy, daddy & baby; superheros; or simply talking sea creatures), and play make-believe games with them. All of this was very cute and fun. Needless to say, I recommend this toy. You'll be surprised at how much play your child will get out of it.

My little guy loved this toy when he went through the "put things in, take things out" stage. The fishbowl is made of fabric and plastic. The plastic sides have water in them that swishes and splashes. It is also clear, so the baby can see what is going in or coming out. Each of the little toys (fish, clam, crab, and starfish) are made of fabrics with many colors and textures. They each make a different noise, as well (rattle, jingle, crinkle, and squeak). I have found that each piece is very well made and held up to daily play, being packed in the diaper bag, and even getting picked up by our dog a few times (she loves the squeaker). I would highly recommend this toy for babies who enjoy quiet exploration activities.

I purchased this item for my niece who was turning 6. I liked that it was not only a jewelry box but that she was able to use her creativity to personalize it. She did the project the week of her party, so I know it must have been something that appealed to her because it just did not sit around in the box for a long time. I also asked her about how she enjoyed painting it and using it and I got the thumbs up! Her mother did mention that she had to hold the stencils for my niece while she painted them or they would move around, so a little one may need help with those if they choose to use them.

i bought this for my cousins 10th birthday she is currently very interested in arts and crafts. she just loved the whole idea of getting to personalize her own jewerly box. it comes with more than enough paint to finish the box and with a index that tells you how to combine colors. the red velvet is of excelent quality. this poduct is hightly reccomended by my self and my little cousin.

I thought this would just be a box lined with velvet - anyways that's what I used when I was a kid. This jewelry box has all the compartments of an adult jewelry box! Hooks for hanging bracelets and dangle earrings, 3 rectangular shaped compartments, a long ring and earring compartment, and a pouch for jewelry that doesn't fit into those places. It is lined with plush red velvet.

The box is put together, surprisingly, with tendon and mortise construction. This results in a strong, interlocking box that's not going to fall apart with use. I expect other manufacturers would just glue the end pieces and over time with handling, they will break.

The hinge opens the top smoothly. All the pieces line up perfectly and have been sanded so there are no rough edges. The base of the box has a wavey design that gives it a fancy touch. I'm delighted with this jewelry box for my niece.

While my 18 month has always enjoyed this toy, it is always on it's side in the water. Even when moving, it tips over every time.
