LittleTouch LeapPad Software: Animal World
Made by LeapFrog

Animals are a hit! This is by far my 2 year olds favorite Little Touch book. He loves animals, so I knew this would be a hit. We purchased it when he was about 15 months and he still picks it out and brings it to me to read.
Animals and "real" pictures are attention grabberMy son (2 yrs. old) got his Little Touch LeapPad and would only play with it for a few minutes until we got this book. Now we can hardly tear him away from his LeapPad. He loved animals to begin with and was especially captivated by the real life photos.
Great for animal loving babies! My son is almost two and I purchased this book for him today. He absolutely loves it. I have other books for the Little Touch but so far this one has been the one that has really gotten his attention.

Another great game! For my son who's 4 and has a reading level between 2nd and 3rd grade and math skill to match, he just wasn't being challenged by the 3-5 yrs. v-smile games. This one was challenging yet content appropriate for a 4 yr. old. Try the Mickey Adventure as well.
Great Fun!My 5 year old really likes this game. It is challenging but at the same time he doesn't become frustrated. The animation is bright and colorful, and the game is easy to understand and follow. I would highly recomend this one for kids over 5!
Intriguing Fun for 4-8 Year Olds These V-Tech games are fun for all ages. In Alladin, you can fly on a magic carpet, explore the city looking for letters of the alphabet, and search underground ruins for treasure. The games can be set so that the player never looses. In Adventure Play mode you play the games in order as a story unfolds. You can also choose to play individual games. In the most difficult game for my little guy, a giant cobra threatens Alladin. Alladin can send fireballs toward the cobra. The cobra is always on the move and the player must move the picture to the cobra's mouth and send a fireball. If the picture belongs in the category, Alladin is safe. If the player shoots at a picture that does not belong in the category the cobra breathes fire and Alladin looses some of his life force. This is too much coordination for my little guy. He hands me the controls until I get him past that task. I don't mind because we can play together and he enjoys playing dispite the cobra.

"crack for kids"My husband calls Zingo "crack for kids." My [...] is a total addict, and we've turned on at least 10 other preschoolers (and their parents) to this game. Highly recommended!
great fun for yearsThis kept my twins busy for years and saved many a playdate as everyone has fun! It's great that there is an easy and harder side to the cards while using the same chips, so the game can grow with the child.
Love this gameI bought this game for my five year old child and the entire family enjoys it. He is constantly asking someone to play with him and we are always willing. We have not gotten tired of this one yet. Very easy for a young child to use. Highly recommend.

Annoying to Keep CleanMy daughter is 4 years old and LOVES to trace so I decided to by her the Doodle Pro Glow. From the outside it looked like a snap to wipe clean, what a mistake! First you have to make sure that your child does not smear the marker (which stains) all over the place, second they provide you with a tiny sponge (not the same as the picture on the box)and you have to wash it clean after every stroke across the board. I don't know about you but I get tired of running back and fourth trying to keep it clean. Third you then have to wipe the board clean with a dry cloth since the wet sponge never gets all of it off.
Take my advice and pass up this toy and go for the simple Doodle Pro, much easier all around.

MARKERS STAIN!!!The toy is fun for kids, HOWEVER....the markers stain! Your clothes, their clothes....it is bad. My son is within the recommended age for use but while wiping the markers off he was holding the marker in his hand and got it on his shirt. I can't get it off - have tried everything! DON'T BUY THIS OR LET THEM PLAY IN OLD CLOTHES!
WE LOVE IT!WHEN GRANDMA BOUGHT THIS FOR MY 3YR OLD SON, I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS GOING TO BE A BIG HIT BECAUSE MY SON DOESN'T LIKE TO COLOR OR WRITE. HOWEVER HE HAS BEEN A TRACING FOOL SINCE HE GOT IT! WE'VE HAD IT FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS NOW, AND IT HASN'T BROKEN. HE LOVES THE SPONGE AND HE GETS A KLEENEX(BECAUSE ITS SOFT) AND CLEANS THE SCREEN ALL BY HIMSELF. (HE'S PROUD OF THAT)I ALSO NOTICE HIS WRITING IN PRESCHOOL HAS IMPROVED. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS TO ANY CHILD. IN FACT THE REASON WHY I WAS ON AMAZON WAS TO LOOK FOR THE ACCESSORIES. THEY HAVE MORE MARKERS AND TRACING TEMPLATES AVAILABLE THAT I'M TRYING TO FIND.

Recommended Age should be 6-10We bought this game for out 4 year daughter. She is now 5 and this game is still collecting dust. It is way to hard for her to play & she gets bored just watching. I would recommend another game until your child is about 6+.
SuperbWe have this game. It was given to us as a gift.
I have to say that although I think the age ranges are a bit off (as stated in many of the other reviews) young children can play this game. While it does require spelling the easier levels are simple words and points are not docked off if you collect a wrong letter. In addition, you get hints like "I think you passed a letter you need."
My son is 6 and he played this with very little problem.
This 'smartridge' is set up just like the others- there is a story line you work through and play games as you go through the story or there are seperate learning games you can play.
Enjoy.
Worth the money.

Wrong Age Range!!!This game was far too difficult for my 5&1/2 yr-old. It requires spelling of difficult words that I'm sure he won't learn until first or second grade. This would be more appropriate for 7-9 yr-olds. Stick with Winnie the Pooh and Lion King for this age group... well, actually, Pooh is better for 4-5 year olds, but my son absolutely loves it!
I really like the V-Smile game system and I am impressed that someone finally came out wit hsomething that has educational value in every game instead of killing, fighting, etc. I think the game ratings are somewhat inconsistent and wish I had thought to check out parent reviews before purchasing the games.
BTW: The game that comes with the set is wonderful. The difference between difficulty levels is perfect... now let's coordinate the rest of the games that way!

SpyCool this toy is cool. You should buy it. No rilly you should buy it. I would play with it ALL day long. If i had this spy toy!
An awesome toy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!This is a fun little protector. It is really cool. There is a receiver and a lighter on each of the toys. You put the lighter in one receiver and the receiver gets with another lighter. I can use it to protect anything. I have never seen a toy work like this before. The water sprayer is to see where the laser is so you don't set off your own alarm. It is somewhat difficult to set up three but it still works great with two.
One of the Better Spy GearsI bought this for my son for his 8th Birthday...He really loves it..It did take a while at first to get started (the rays have to match up exactly for the alarm to trip), but after that you heard the alarms all through the house...He loves it. Excellent product

Tad's Silly Writing FairI bought the above for my four-year-old granddaughter. She enjoys the LeapPad Book very much. It seems to stimulate her inquisitiveness, and she finds it to be lots of fun.
My Daughter Loves It!I ordered this for my 3 1/2 year old daughter. She has been trying to write her name before, but some letters give her trouble. I gave her this "book" and she loves it! We own about 10 First Leap Pad books and she plays with this one more than any (she even put down the Disney Princess one to play with this). She likes practicing tracing the dotted lines on the letters. She doesn't do most of the other games, but she enjoys tracing the letters. The music makes it more exciting than the preschool handwriting books I had purchased for her. She won't spend two minutes with those. It does seem that her "free" handwriting is getting better. She just received the L-Max for Christmas (we haven't opened it yet)and the Letters on the Loose game which I read was good for writing. I'm sure that with both of these, she will have writing down pat very soon.
Perfect for teaching our daughter writing...We own over a dozen books for My First LeapPad. This particular book is my daughter's second favorite. In fact, we own two versions of it, one in English and the other in French.
My wife and I purchased this book because our daughter needed help with her fine motor skills, especially when it came to writing letters and numbers. She wasn't lagging or anything, but she made the mistakes all three-year-olds make when trying to write.
Through fun activities, this book taught her to write in strait lines as well as proper curved lines. She learned to correctly print both capital and small letters. She also learned to correctly write her numbers. We were pleasantly surprised by how much this book improved our daughter's fine motor skills and control over a pen.
Additionally, since her French lagged her English, the French version of this book taught her the alphabet in French and well as all her numbers in this language. Had she not already known these things in English, I imagine it would have taught her these as well.
This book is definitely one of My First LeapPad's best.

Create-A-Scene Magnetic Playset: Dinosaurs

Average review score:

Great take along toy. These magnets have helped my 2 1/2 year old survive many coffee refills at restaurants with the grandparents. It opens to about the same size as his place at the table and is very thin to carry around (I don't feel like we've moved in with a whole toy box). It has also survived a minor water spill.
Best car toy for the budding "Paweeuntowogist"Both my sons have had hours of fun in cars and strollers with this set. In 4 years we lost only one piece. Great for imaginative play for the dino fanatic.
