Crayola Table Top Art Easel
Made by Binney & Smith Inc./Crayola
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

It is nice looking, but it is not easy to useThere is a thing to hold paper and it is not good enough to hold it. Paper keeps falling down and kids will have tough time with it. Also, it is not easy to write in a that position. I do not recommend this item!
it is good, but it is a little bit boringi am not saying that is worth, but,it is good is not the best toy but,it is a fun and creative toy
Crayola folding tabletop art easelThis is non-toxic with the markers and paint washable. The crayons and watercolors are certified CP with the markers and pencils certified AP. To clean the clothing that might have the watercolor paint on, it is advised to not use pre-wash or chlorine bleach. This should also be kept away from wallpaper, painted walls, finished and unfinished wood and vinyl.
My son had this from the time he was four to seven and liked it but did prefer his magna doodle over it. The set up is easy with all the pieces fitting into each other by slots. In order to use the easel correctly the two purple trays must be situated just right in the red container. This can work two ways because if you do not want to use the green stand you can move the trays out a bit and turn around to then slide the paper under the clip and start drawing, painting or coloring. The clip is also removable and easy to snap into place. When you are storing this you place the clip and paper supplies under the trays. We had paint stains on many spots, but they were easy to remove with a cloth or a wipe.
To use the stand you would lift up the red and blue sections and place the stand in the slots provided. The two purple trays can be removed before doing this to have the supplies close at hand and not having to turn this around and over.
Both of the purple trays have a small section for the watercolor tray. When the easel is being used there is a small groove that will hold two markers and one pencil. The trays can even slide in upside down. The one down fall to this is if you are using it for portable reasons it gets loud with the items moving about in there.

What a rip offWe purchased this for our daughter after she loved the original ballet version so much. I expected the same quality of the original product and was very disappointed. The mat is very cheap and flimsy and my daughter broke the headset trying to get it on her head.
Not What We expectedWe bought this for our 7-year old for Christmas. We are dissapointed in the quality. The mat is flimsy and so creased from being in the package that it will not lay flat. The headset feels "cheap" also. The video is VERY difficult, especially for a child. The "dancers" don't use much vocabulary to help the child get started. They just start dancing and expect the kid to keep up. It's VERY fast. I even had trouble following along. Our daughter was so frustrated, she cried. I do not recommend it for young children, especially those with little or no prior dance experience.
bella bella ... my daughter is frustrated! My daughter received this for her 5th birthday. She has some ballet experience so we thought she would pick up on this rather quickly. Only one portion of the DVD is really instructional-And that part is FAST FAST FAST! Did I say Fast?! Thank goodness for the rewind feature on the DVD-- This music is redundant--but that's ok--my daughter loves it. She so wants to follow & do the dancing but there is little to no actual step-by-step instruction. It's basically several cute bubbly girls dancing away on a plastic numbered mat.
On the upside--she still loves her microphone headset & singing along. This product could easily be improved by adding chapters with varying difficulty level so as to allow younger children to catch on. The label DOES say 5 years & up!

great plates! These plates encouraged my kids 6 and 4 to express themselves and then enjoy their art each day with dinner. They love setting the table with their own "special" plates that they created. It makes them feel special that they created something that will last forever. The plates are easy to clean and can go into the dishwasher. Enjoy these fabulous dishes!!
PlateWorksThis is really a fun project for kids. I made a plate similar to these when I was in preschool (30-something years ago) and I used it for 13 years every single night and I still have it! So when I saw this kit I had to get it for my 8-year-old stepdaugther. She loved it, and while I did not get to see the finished project, she was absolutely thrilled with it and couldn't wait to make another one. It's a great idea and a really nice keepsake for children and their parents. I am going to buy one this Christmas for my 4 year old son.
Great for GiftsPlate Works is a great idea if you are looking for a personalized and lasting gift. In the package, you get special sheets to do your art work on and an envelope to send it in to. In no time, you receive it back on a great melamine plate.
My kids made a couple of these over the summer. My oldest took great care in deciding what he would want to see on his plate every day (race cars, of course), while the youngest just went straight to doodling. We packed their artwork into the envelope with great care and took a trip to the post office to say "goodbye for now" to their creations. Of course, they immediately started waiting for the mail man to arrive - uckily the plates were returned in a super fast two and a half weeks (much less time than expected!).
They like that their plates are truely their own. I like that their art is preserved and that the plates are durable enough to last a very long time. These are definitely things that I will pack away and save forever.
In fact, my kids had so much fun doing their own plates, that we have ordered more for them to decorate for special Christmas presents.

Trading Spaces Fun! - Just like the showI am a huge fan of the Trading Spaces show. So when i found out there was a Trading Spaces doll house i could share with my daughter, i had to buy it. And it was worth it! I purchased the Trading Spaces House & Dolls for my daughter (8) back in May, and she still loves it! I helped her put it together... I could even do it without my husbands help. The amazing part of this toy is that truly is one of a kind. My daughter loves all the parts included, especially the molding dough to make food for her kitchen. My other daughter (5) even tried to help her sister out by stamping all over the walls but to our suprise, it really did wash clean. There are so many activites involved in this toy that I must say it's the best toy i have bought for my kids in a few years.

motherofsixI just got one of these shipped for Christmas 2005 for one of my boys. He is a four year old triplet and another of the triplets is a boy and I am now buying another pair for him. It really is as described. The case is sturdy with rubber around it and is stiff enough so you don't have to keep adjusting to fit your eyes. They are smoothe with no sharp edges and are small but adjust out widely to compensate for adults. A neck strap comes attached that I may cut off after seeing how they play with it to avoid getting clotheslined. The view is very good especially considering they are marketed on TRU for children. I think the focus button will be within easy reach for their little hands. If for some reason they don't use it, it was worth the $11.95 as I'm sure it will be used by others in our house.

Exclusive Magnetix 325 Count Super Case

Defective toy - dangerous! This 325-count set contains "curves". We bought a set of curves two years ago for our 5-year old son (Magnetix Translucent Curves with the word "Magnetix" stamped on each link). We also have other children in the home. At this time three of the little magnets have come out. It seems to happen most when we put the curves end to end and the power of one magnet pulled another magnet out from its pocket in another curved piece. Basically, there is nothing holding the magnets in! There is no "lip" and there is no adhesive on each end of the curved piece. The magnets are shaped like small cylinders. I am not talking about the larger balls which are just metal and are not magnets.
And yes, these magnets have awesome power! I put one of the little guys on my finger and another one attracted right through it - from the other side of my finger. Amazing yet scary.
In Washington state recently one toddler died and another pre-schooler almost died - both swallowed multiple magnets from building toys. The key here is "multiple". With more than one magnet, the internal organs got choked off before the mom even realized the child was sick. The toddler's older brother had received a "Magnetix Xtreme Combo" toy two weeks earlier. Here is the link with a video: http://komo1000news.com/stories/42442.htm. Parents, I think we should all beware of any toys with small magnets. If you have a baby or toddler in the home, think about it. Is the added excitement of a "cool toy" worth risking your child's health? From reading the feedback posted out there over the years, it seems like some manufacturers use design and product materials that are poor quality and their magnets fall out a lot. MAGNETIX 325QUALITY IS EXCEPTIONAL! ALSO COMES IN A METAL CASE,AND THAT IN ITSELF IS VERY APPEALING.GAVE IT TO AN 8 YEAR OLD BOY,AND HE USES IT 3 TO 4 TIMES A WEEK.HE EVEN USED IT FOR A SCHOOL PROJECT.ALSO SERVICE FROM AMAZON.COM WAS GREAT.THIS WAS A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR MY GRANDSON.
Magnetix 325 Count Super CasePurchased for my 7 year old. Very good value for the money. Has provided numerous hours of active creative fun for her. Is easy to pick up and store when not in use. Is a great source of imaginitive creative fun for any child. It is also mind stimulating and has been one of the only toys that has held her attention and kept her from being "bored" with the toy.

SUPER GEARSI BOUGHT THIS FOR MY 3 YEAR OLD GRANDSON FOR EASTER. I PLAYED WITH IT TO MAKE SURE GRANDPA COULD HAVE THE SKILL TO SHOW MY GRANDSON HOW IT WORKS. I FOUND THE TOY TO BE FINE. THERE ARE A VARIETY OF COLORED GEARS AND CONNECTORS. I THINK THIS IS A PARENT-CHILD PLAY TOGETHER TOY TO INSURE INTIAL STARTUP SUCESS
My little one LOVES this toy...........I originally purchased this toy about 5 years ago when my sons were 5 and 3(now they're 10 and 8) and it was seldom played with. They we're more interested in Knex and Legos.Recently though I dug them out of storage for my 2.5 year old daughter and she LOVES them. She has built some amazing gear creations all by herself(she's very proud of herself too).Well needless to say my older ones can't let her have all the fun ,and have started playing with them too. It's a great toy they can all play with at the same time with total cooperation.
As an add on I did purchase additional Gears and Bases of different sizes to go along with this set.I feel the additional pieces make the toy MUCH more interesting and challenging to build with.

Really Fun (For More Than One)We purchased this award-winning set for our preschool-aged son who really enjoys toys like Marble Run, Legos, and Brio. We thought it a good fit for his mechanical engineering interests. The set itself is fairly durable and small hands can easily manipulate the chunky pieces which fit together snugly. The handled storage container is an added convenience. However, soon after purchase I noticed (like other reviewers) that my son was not motivated to play with this set on his own. Often, it would go undisturbed for months. One day, his preschool teacher said they were interested in purchasing this set for the classroom. Because of my own experience I cautioned her on the purchase and offered our set to the class for a "test drive." To my surprise, for the week it was on loan it was the most played with toy in the room. My son seemed to love the kit at school, but not at home. I realized that this toy is at it's best with a group of children because they can so easily work and create together. In a group setting the toy became fun, cooperative play. Because this set offers a generous number of four-sided building pieces, chilren can add-on and build from all sides. I can understand why in a previous review a Kingergarten teacher gave this toy five stars...because that is the environment this toy was made for it seems. It would be best for families with multiple children of similar age, play groups, and classroom learning. As a parent, I love this quality toy and the creativity and cooperation it inspires but now, we keep the bucket at Grandma's house. When all of the Grandkids are there they spill out the parts and go to work.
