Nice sturdy toy for a little one.
My son loves to drop these from his highchair while we eat dinner... he loves the noise they make when they hit, and there isn't a mark on them from countless dropping and rolling on the hardwood floor.

      Long-lasting fun
My son received this set of Roll-A-Rounds when he was around 3 months old. Though he as too small to play with them on his own, he enjoyed watching us shake or roll them and listening to the different sounds. As he got older and was able to reach for things, he started pushing and batting at the balls, which was rewarded by a sound (jingling, rattling, etc...). When he was able to sit up, he began trying to hold the balls in his hands, chew on them, roll them, shake them, and all sorts of other things. At around 9 months, we purchased the Swirlin Gumball Machine, which he loves. Now, at 13 months old, he still loves these toys - we roll them and talk about the sounds the make and put them in and out of all kinds of containers.

This set includes 6 clear plastic balls with interesting colors, shapes, and different "noisemakers" in them. Don't worry - they are not obnoxiously loud (unless you have wood floors and your child enjoys throwing the balls, like mine does!). The noises include a jingly bell, clanging cymbals, a slide whistle, rattles, and kind of clinking plastic noise (they're easier to listen to than describe!). The great thing is that baby's slightest movements are rewarded with a sound, and they're the perfect size for little hands to grasp. As baby gets older, you can talk about cause & effect, different sounds, learn to roll back & forth, and all sorts of other things. I did rate this as a 5 for educational value, but as with most toys, I think that it is only a great educational tool if an adult is involved in some of the playtime.

Another bonus with this toy is that they are compatible with all of the other Fisher Price Roll-A-Rounds playsets. My baby loves these toys, and I would suggest them (and other Roll-A-Rounds toys) for exploring babies of all ages!

Baby has lots of fun with these little noise makers!
From the second we opened these roll-a-rounds up for our 12 month old, he plays with them non-stop! Each one is so colorful and he loves to shake them up to hear the fun sounds they make. Definately the best "rounds" yet!!!

      Super Giraffe!
Despite what the tag says, it holds up great in the washer (inside of a laundry bag). We've had ours 1 year and our son loves his giraffe. Worth the money. Clips easily to stroller, carseat straps, shopping cart, diaper bag. Great toy to entertain and keep baby occupied while on the go!

      Baby's favorite toy!
We received this last December for baby's first Christmas as a gift from his uncle. He was about two months old then. To this day, baby still loves this toy! The colors and textures stimulate him, along with the different noises it makes, such as the crinkley noise in one feet, the rattling in the other two, and the squeak in the other feet and on the head. He loves to finger the fringes on the edges and the knot on the tail. Along with that, he loves to chew on the crinkley ears! This toy keeps baby occupied. If he wakes from his nap, he usually cries, but if this toy is available to him, he would immediately start playing with it and forget all about being cranky. It says surface wash only, but I've put it in a pillowcase and was able to put in in the washer and dryer. We don't ever leave home without this giraffe!!!! Highly recommended for all babies!!!

      My baby loves this guy!
I bought this toy thinking it would be one for my 3 month old to grow into (as far as being really interested) but she has already fallen in love with "Jolly" as we call him! Each of his feet make a different sound effect--a jingle, a squeak, a rattle and a crackling sound---SO GREAT! She loves to chew and suck on his feet--and the size of his neck and legs are perfect for tiny hands to grap ahold of! GREAT TOY with bring, fun colors!

I found a better doll than this one!
After I got this one, I found a better doll on ebay. The doll I got on ebay was listed under "ASIAN AMERICAN BERENGUER GIRL DOLL" and that one is much more realistic than this one and much prettier. I wish I bought the one from ebay first.

This is "the baby" for my baby
My 14 month old daughter has reached the phase when she needs to hug, cuddle and nurture. My husband laughed at me for saying that she needed a baby to play with (she had none at the time), but when she got another baby doll from a friend that is twice the size of Little Mommy and started sleeping and carrying it around he realized that, yes little girls do naturally like dolls. We bought Little Mommy doll to wean her off the first one that was too big and to bulky for us to deal with on the everyday basis. And what a hit she is in our house!!! Little Mommy doll is the perfect first baby. She's 14" tall (just perfect size for the little hands). She has a soft rubber head, arms and legs, and cloth body filled with pellets. She's very snuggly. She has a pretty face and big inquisitive eyes (the prettiest eyes I've seen on a doll) and painted eye lashes (which is great because our daughter tends to chew on the other dolls "realistic" eye lashes). She comes with a little baby bottle and toy keys that my daughter loves to play with. I gave Little Mommy 45 stars for educational value because I strongly believe that lovey toys like this one teach kids attachment, sensitivity, compassion and nurturing - the most important emotions that we as humans posses. I gave it 5 stars for "fun" because it is so much fun watching my baby enjoy her baby so much. Overall, this baby doesn't leave my daughter's arms for anything other than a bath. We have to deal with some screaming because baby can't join in the bath tub, but we just got her another "bath companion" to deal with this situation.
But the best, very best feature of this "transitional object" is that it doesn't do anything - no singing, no dancing, no teaching alphabet or numbers, no crying 'mama', no giggling! Just an old fashioned baby doll that allows the imagination of the little one to run the show. No annoying sounds to endure on the long car rides! And no batteries to buy - ever!
Note: I have the Caucasian version of this doll but I don't see much difference between them.

      A great toy
My 15-month-old daughter received this band set today in the mail for a late Christmas present. What a great gift! It was fun and entertaining! My husband and I had just as much fun with it as my daughter did! All the instruments seem to be very durable and able to survive even the roughest of the little musicians out there! I believe this will be a toy that my daughter will keep interest in and enjoy for a long time to come!

        Piece of Junk
Does not stay together. Everytime my daughter tried to put a pony down the slide it would fall off. I know it was not the way I put it together either. It is just held there by the little plastic heart. My sister in law and cousin had the same problem with there. Def. not worth the money.

        Threw this in the trash!
The idea of the playset is cute, but the construction of it is horrible. As other reviewers stated, the two base pieces of the toy do not snap together and stay together, so every time you move this toy it falls apart. For this reason alone I threw it out.

Finally, a My Little Pony toy worth having!
I bought this toy for my three year old daughter's birthday. I am very pleased with it. There are many activities and wonderful music that makes you feel like you are on a tropical vacation! We have the Rainbow Wishes Amusement Park and that is an awful toy. It is fragile and there is not a lot of entertainment in it. Butterfly Island is a huge improvement over it. It comes with two small ponies which are the only ponies that can spin around the top of the toy. The regular-sized ponies can do all the other activities, such as the surfboard, the drink bar, the dolphin beach and the ride up the waves. There is a storage compartment in the back which is handy to hold all the little pieces that come with the toy. I would highly recommend this toy. My five and a half year old also enjoys playing with it.

            Buyer beware! Choking hazard
I bought this toy for my friend's 14 month old daughter. While visiting them, my 11 month old son was playing with this toy and when he hit the key on the box, a small piece of the key broke off and the key came off the toy. The piece was small enough to be swallowed.

            Great toy but choking hazard
I bought this for my daughter's 1 year birthday and she really likes it and has a lot of fun sorting the shapes and dumping them out the door. It's really nice to be able to leave the door unlocked so she doesn't get frustrated and need help every time she wants to get the shapes out. HOWEVER, after only one month a chunk of the key broke off when the toy was dropped on the floor. The piece that broke off was very sharp and small enough to choke on. The key is still functional, but we cut the cord to remove it from the toy so mom or dad need to help unless we leave it unlocked all the time.

Babies can grow into this toy
One nice thing about this toy that I didn't see mentioned by any other reviewers is this: neither the keyhole nor the door are spring loaded. This means that for a young toddler like my 14-month-old, you can turn the keyhole to the unlocked position and it will stay that way; and you can leave the door propped open, although it may not stay that way. This allows young ones to put the blocks -- or whatever they grab -- in and out of the box without having to operate the lock. I had been concerned that I was going to be constantly called on to unlock the door for him, but now I see that's not the case. When he's ready, he can figure out how to use the key, but for now, he can enjoy the toy without using the locking function.

I think the bright colors of this toy, combined with the interesting shapes and perfect size of the blocks it comes with, make this toy very appealing to my son.

              Monkey of Terror
I have not been very impressed with any of the 'Baby Einstein' products I have seen, and this monkey is no exception. My daughter received this toy as a Christmas present, at six months old. She couldn't quite decide if she liked it or was afraid of it, but eventually came down on the side of being afraid. I can't even sing "Head Shoulders Knees and Toes" now without making her cry. Even if this monkey didn't scare the pants off my daughter, I think that it is not the best quality toy, and certainly the idea that a child is going to learn any more from it than from an engaged parent is a lot of marketing hoo-ha.

              fun toy
My daughter received this toy for Christmas when she was 3 months old and she is now almost 9 months old. She absolutely adores "Marty" the monkey (we named him). Unfortunately, the wires came loose from the main battery box and "Marty" no longer sings or talks. We're buying a new one b/c she loves him so much.

              my son loves it!
we just got it in the mail yesterday and he won't let go, even slept with it! this monkey does a few giggles between words and at 7 months my son has this "suspense" look on his face. the funniest thing is when the giggle sounds he laughs and waits for the next giggle! i can't wait til he starts learning the words and where the hands feet and toes are! this puppet has a big enough opening my husband can get his hand into it too. monkey for the little monkey!
