This is a bells and whistles toy, that is totally worthless without its batteries. While it does have the redeeming factor of a bilingual presentation of animals and numbers, it is a big dud. The kids do like it, and push the buttons, but they mostly use the button for lights and music. If you want to train your child into an entertainment junkie with a very short attention span, this toy would be a good start. But then that is my opinion on most battery operated toys.

My son received this as a Christmas gift (was 10 months old) and instantly loved the colors and sounds. Now at 12 months he still plays and pushes the buttons, we are working on knowing the animal to the sound. But he just loves it! We are looking into now buying Noah the other toy to go with it for his 1st birthday. Great Sounds, Great colors!

We purchased this for our son Christmas 2004 -- he was 18 months old then. He loved it right away and played with it EVERY DAY for 6 months. Travels kept him away from it over the summer, but since then, he still plays with it often, and has now mastered three of the (four) levels of games, in which the user listens to increasingly complex instructions and responds by finding an item or items. And now our daghter, soon to a be a year old, enjoys pressing the buttons and listening to the songs (which still inspire adorable little dances by her big brother).

The bilingual feature is great (we have it in German/English). Our son mastered 1 - 10 in both languages quickly, thanks to this toy. But don't tell him he was learning; to him it was just fun.

Bought this for my 4 mo. old son for Christmas (got it for a great price at Costco). He played with it a lot - loved it. His dad & I thought it was a wonderful toy, until it shorted out with no provocation after only about 1.5 months of use. We've tried to find a replacement, but seems it's not for sale anymore. We are very disappointed and plan to return for a refund at Costco.

My in-laws bought this toy as a XMas gift for our 9 month old daughter. While my daughter loves the music, we quickly became concerned with it from a safety perspective. After about 2 weeks of use, the toy shorted out. We could smell a funny smoke odor coming from the base near the battery compartment, and the toy would no longer play music (it just whined and sounded like an old cassette tape stuck in a player. While the drum and tambourine are still functional for her to play with, they are heavy for a child's toy, and can cause bumps and bruises unless you are VERY CAREFULLY watching your child.

My daughter got this for her 1st birthday, and now seven months later, it's still one of her favorite toys! She loves all the action, the play cymbal, the little drum pad, the tambourine...my only negative comments is that it's a little bulky for storage, takes up lots of room in the toy box. I have to say I like the nice mix of music, slightly different from the usually childrens toy music, not nearly as annoying!

My daughter loves her drum! We have several LeapFrog toys and they are all great!

MY SON IS 20 MONTHS, AND LOVES THIS TOY, HIS BROTHERS ACTUALLY CALL HIM "BAM-BAM" BECAUSE HE BANGS EVERYTHING, AND HE WILL SIT THERE FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME (15-20 MINUTES) AND BANG ON HIS DRUM, I DON'T THINK HE UNDERSTANDS THE EDUCATIONAL VALUE OF THE TOY, BUT HE IS LEARNING HIS LETTERS AND NUMBERS WITH OUT EVEN KNOWING IT. WE GOT IT ON SALE FOR ONLY 10.00, AND IT WAS DEFINITLY WORTH IT.

My son has played with this toy starting at 6mths - to current 9mths. He loves this toy so much that we have two, one at home and one at Grandma's!

The Good:
1. It is fun, still after three months is still a top toy in our home
2. Interactive with the baby.
3. Easy for little hands to hold onto and grab
4. Small enough to pack on trips
5. Has volume control options
6. Very durable
7. Long life batteries. I have not changes them yet.
8. Has different options of play (music, alphabet, numbers, and an actual drum play setting)
9. Has automatic shut off when left alone for a short period of time
10. Has an off switch - big in our home!!!

The Bad:
1. The number setting only goes up to 10. Not too big to me since my son is only 9 mths.

MY SON RECEIVED THIS LAST CHRISTMAS WHEN HE WAS 6 MONTHS OLD. WE KEEP IT IN HIS CRIB AND TILL THIS DAY WHEN HE WAKES UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, INSTEAD OF CRYING FOR A BOTTLE OR JUST FOR US TO COME GET HIM HE PLAYS WITH THIS TOY! IT IS A BIG LAUGH IN OUR FAMILY BECAUSE AT LEAST 4 NIGHTS A WEEK WE HEAR HIM PLAYING "HIS PIANO" AS WE CALL IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!! HE ENTERTAINS HIMSELF TILL HE GOES BACK TO SLEEP- WHAT A RELIEF FOR US! MY BROTHERS 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER STILL WAKES UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, SO I SUGGESTED HE RUN OUT AND GET THIS TOY! I LIKE PLAYING WITH IT ALSO, AND THE COLOR AND LIGHTS ARE VEYR NICE. IT IS NOT LOUD AND ANNOYING LIKE SOME TOYS. IT IS ALSO PRETTY DURABLE. 1 YEAR AND STILL GOING STRONG!

I saw this canapoy bed in a local toys r us store and it looked so cute on the front of the box and it is very cute when opened and put together but the canapoy that drapes over the bed is constantly slipping about and not staying in place and the mattress that goes on the bed does not snap or have velcro to hold it down to the bed so my daughter kept knocking the mattress off the bed. I found myself always readjusting the fabric for the bed over and over again so I finally just went out and bought my daughter a baby toy crib to play with and gave this one to away.
