Not a good guide for shape sorting...
We received this toy as a gift when my son was 6 months old. The shapes are not firm enough to resist the child from forcing them into the wrong shape. Isn't that a principle for a good shape sorter?

FYI, Peekablocks make a great shape sorter that my son now loves!

    Nephew loved this!
We bought this for our nephew over the holidays. He was seven or eight months old at the time and just loved it. His parents had not given him many of the pricier developmental toys, and most of his toys seemed to be either cuddly stuffed animals or older plastic baby toys from a cousin. This toy seemed to fill a void and to hold his attention for quite a while. He seemed to love the visual stimulation, tactile sensations (the softness, the crinkle) and the sounds (the crinkle sound, the bell sound). He giggled a lot while playing with it, which seemed to be a good sign! It's a great toy and one we will certainly buy when we have a baby!

Simple but fun and educational toy
We got this toy very early, when my son was only a few months old. Now that he is over a year old, he has used different aspects of the toy over different stages. Earlier on he would just drop the shapes, but now he loves chasing the soft ball around, and opening and dumping the blocks from the box. It's easy to clean and just a nice, simple toy that allows for good imaginative play.

      smells wonderful!
My son, 4 months old, received this for christmas last year from my mom. Although he cannot squeese the legs to make it squeak he loves to grab onto this toy, and just staring at it and trying to put the legs in his mouth. This toy keeps him happy for quite a while, nothing else keeps him entertained except for his Octotunes, which is very similar to this toy.

      Great toy!
I've given Puppytunes as a gift twice to friends for their babies. Both have raved about it and sent great pictures. Babies seem to love the bright colors and especially the texture of it. I think it's a great baby gift.

      Wonderful Toy
I bought this for my 1 year-old godson for his birthday and he loves it. An adult had to squeeze the paws at first, but now he laughes whenever he does it himself. I recommend this toy, especially to help with development and color recognition.

      Not a great toy
I bought this toy at Toys R Us because it was on clearance for $7 (normally $15). I like the Peek-a-Blocks, and this one being so cheap, seemed like a good deal.

Good points: it comes with four blocks (although by far not the most entertaining of the Peek-a-Blocks sets) and the music is soft and plays a very pleasant tune; it stores nicely, all 4 blocks fit inside and the unit is compact.

Bad points: it is not very entertaining; my 6-month-old barely looks at it compared to her other toys

This is an okay toy for $7. For $15, there are much better toys out there.

      Pass on this toy
My daughter got this for her birthday. She doesn't even play with the fish. She likes the blocks, though, so we've put them in her other block toy and she plays with them.

The blocks are too big for the fish and they don't come out easily. It's just not a fun toy.

      grandaughter
It was just what she wanted. It is very nice and is described very well. She is 10 months old and enjoys it very much.

        great toy
I bought the lamaze play and grow for my newborn son soon after he was born. Although he can't really play with it he sure does enjoy the mirror. I like it for its creative colors, and different textures he will soon learn to love and have fun with his new toy.

        Great toy
This toy was bought as a shower gift for our fourth baby in 2002, and it's still in the toy box. It has many features and is just overall a great toy that keeps babies occupied.

        Awesome for tummy time
It's soft, crinkly and rattles. What baby could resist this great turtle? It was especially delightful to watch him play with the mirror when he got old enough to discover it.

Great Toy, Can Pinch Though, Be Careful!
We bought this toy for our little girl to help occupy her on a 14 hour road trip. Our little girl is 23 months, and at the upper end of enjoying a toy like this, but she really enjoyed the book, and it kept her busy for quite some time -- until it pinched her!!
Somehow while sitting with it on her lap in the car seat she managed to catch the skin of her thigh in the book -- we thought it was a fluke until she did it again! Now she has 2 little purple bruises on her thigh.
She doesn't want to touch it or look at it any more... for good reason.
We won't return it (yet), but it won't be a car seat toy any more!
I also agree with the other reviewers about the following points:
        1. Needs an "Off Switch" -- desperately
        2. The full rhymes would be nice as well.
        and I would add:
        3. Even quieter volume control!
        4. When it's time to redesign it, make sure it doesn't pinch!

        Great Toy
This toy is a really good toy. When I pulled it off the shelf in the store my son went crazy (6mths then) and would not let me take it from him after that. Now at 9 months he still likes the toy but the toy was only his favorite toy in the store the day I bought it.

        The Good about this toy
        1. Lots of interaction play
        2. Very Very durable
        3. The sounds are nice and easy to understand
        4. Doesn't sing the whole song, gives verses for you to sing to the melody (babies love parents voices)

        The Bad
        1. There is no off button (which runs down the batteries faster and heaven forbid you bump into it in the middle of the night and you have a light sleeper)
        2. It can be alittle hard for little hands to grasp and hold onto

        GREAT!
My son loves this book. It's actually a very neat toy. There are different things on each page that you can move. He loves the music and singing. Very cute!

        perfect!
We use this swing attached to our pergala and our daughter loves it. She used it a lot when she was 5m then later went through a phase where she wasn't much into swinging. After we moved I put it up and...viola! She loves it again at 14m. We added several inches of chain with S hooks to make it closer to the ground. It was just way to high when not used with the playset.

        Noah's favorite toy!
We love this swing! Noah loves to go outside and swing on the front porch. The swing is great quality and super easy. I feel that Noah is very secure with the bar that comes between the legs. We have been using this swing since he was about 6 months old and are looking fwd to lots more use! Must have for any toddler!

        Excellent
This baby/toddler swing is great. We had an identical one for our two older children, but sold it...not knowing we would have a 3rd child :o) The swing was so nice and easy to use, I just bought the same exact swing this time around.

Watch out for the wheel axles!
We had this grocery cart for three years. I would give the basket and base ten stars for sturdiness. After lots of play though, the wheels will no longer stay; I got tired of "popping" them back into place. Overall, three years has been a good lifetime for this toy!

Very sturdy toy, worth the money.
We bought this shopping cart for my daughter's birthday to replace the cheapie one she'd had before. Her previous one had cost under $10 (a gift) and there is no comparison between that one and the Little Tikes one. The old one was flimsy from the get go, faded quickly, and when it broke, left sharp edges in the plastic. The Little Tikes cart is much, much sturdier and safer.

I put it together in less than 30 minutes, even with my daughter's 'help'. There's a nice deep basket that holds a good amount of pretend play food or whatever else your child wants to push around. The seat for a doll folds against the cart just like a real shopping cart, and easily holds a good variety of different style dolls. The empty shelf under the basket is a nice touch, perfect for stashing more groceries.

This cart is definitely worth the extra money, and I'd gladly buy it again.

        Every child should have one!
Let me start by saying my son has had this toy for over three years and it is his absolute favorite. Since he's had it so long I can tell you its very durable. We haven't had any problems. This is the one and only toy he has used every single day since we bought it. He uses it for pretty much everything, but especially for cleaning up. He uses it to gather up all of his toys and take them to his bedroom to put away. He also loves to use it to play store.

The only problem with this toy: when his friends come over they want to play with it too! Maybe I should get a few more of them!

I would highly recommend this toy to anyone!

Great for pulling up and cause and effect learning
I bought this table when my daughter was 7 months. She learned to pull up early and I wanted something to encourage her. The activities on the table are simple ones, and she is able to activate them easily. I'm not sure if its on purpose or she just bangs around a lot and makes it happen accidentally, but either way she loves it. Her daycare has the LeapFrog table, and she has little interest in it. BUT, this one she is on constantly. The spoon rattle is a big hit, it comes off the table, as well as the lift-flip "peek a boo" pea thing. The music is not annoying, (except for the fact that I can't get the alphabet song out of my head)! The music cuts off if the child activates another part of the table, nice for learning cause and effect, and legs come off too, which is nice if you want to put it in the car to take to grandma's for the afternoon.

A minor issue when first getting this - but not a design flaw - when beginning to pull up and not strong yet, she start to topple over, so she'd grab the table to steady herself and it's light so it came down with her. She was never hurt, just scared, but just watch your kids to see if they do this too. Now that she's stronger it doesnt happen at all.

I think this is a great toy for any baby who is learning to pull up.

Great Fun Toy! Little short though!
I bought this toy for my twin daughters first birthday and they love it. I thought it would be a little taller though and I wouldn't buy it for a 18-24 month baby, but that doesn't take away from the fun toys it has. This all in all this is a great toy.

        laugh and learn learning table
My son loves this toy. He started playing with it when he was about 5 months old. He is 8 months now and still plays with it every day! The Laugh and Learn Learning Table is great - I highly recommend it!!!

        Great toy for me
I think I like this toy more than my son (11 months old). He really hasn't showed much interest in it yet. But I've learned to play chopsticks on it. :) Maybe as he gets older he'll like it more.

        Good Purchase
Good for an adult to play simple tunes but a child may have trouble manipulating the legs of the octopus. Overall an entertaining toy. The toy has a powdery smell that may/may not bother you.

        Octotunes
It's cute, sounds great and even has a faint vanilla smell. I bought it for a 2 year old but my bigger kids like to play with it too!

          Cute but a little young
I bought this for my 2 year old daughter and while she loves the Sesame Street theme, it was a bit bulky and uncomfortable to carry around. We returned it and got the "My First Purse" instead and she really loves that one. Overall they have the same features, this one is just a lot more bulky because of the hard plastic.

          Great toy!!!
I got this toy for my daughter when she was a year old. She has loved it since. She still pulls out the phone and talks to people, and I still get lipstick put on me. Great toy and very durable. Looks like it did when we bought it.

          HUGE HIT FOR TODDLER GIRLS!
My daughter received this as a gift when she turned one and I didn't give it to her right away thinking she was too young. Once I showed it to her at age 14 months, she absolutely loved it! She pretends to be painting her lips and mine with the big plastic lipstick. She loves opening, closing and shaking the coin purse (it's great because there's only the "sound" of coins so no mess to pick up). And she opens and closes the cell phone while pretending to talk on it. She's 16 months old now and totally understands that it's "her purse" and LOVES emptying and filling it. One of her favorites!
