My kids love these blocksMy son received these blocks as a first b-day gift and they have been a favorite of his and any kid who enters our home. They are extremely durable(they hold up to standing on them)and can be used to create all sorts of things. My 4 year old is constantly creating "castles" and "houses" for her dolls and stuffed animals. My 22 month old delights in knocking them over and is now starting to stack them on his own. We make a game out of putting them away in the clear bag they came in. We store them behind a chair in our living room and almost daily my son climbs on the chair and looks over and points that he wants to play with them. I highly recommend this toy for children 18mos - 6 years.
Awesome idea for little boyI only wish there were more blocks. My son who is 3 has enjoyed them and continues to enjoy them and build build build. Love these blocks.
WONDERFUL!My husband and I are the kind of parents that used to think the loud flashy light toys are the best. These blocks proved us wrong. My husband ordered these blocks last year for Christmas when he was oversees among many other toys. She was only nine months so she recieved them so she just held them and chewed on them. I would stack them for her and she had a blast knocking them down. We took them out again when she was 1. She is now 17 months and hasnt stopped playing with them. They come with a plastic see through backpack for storage so she loves to put them in and take them out. She stacks them on top of each other as high as she can and then rolls over laughing after she knocks them down. And all of those expensive loud flashy toys are still sitting there collecting toy dust.

Beautifully crafted learning toyGreat for sorting, development of small motor skills, and shape and color recognition. This is a wonderful, open-ended toy. Beautifully made and sturdy. Ours has been with us through three kids and 6 years and still looks as good as ever. I wish more companies put as much thought into their toys. Plan Toys makes some of the best toys you can buy and they are reasonably priced if you consider how long they'll last.
A great shape/color/number/sorter puzzle for your child!I purchased this for my son (who was 18m at the time) thinking that it would be a good first introduction to shapes and colors. It really was! He took to it right away and (for all you tired mothers and fathers out there) he stuck with it for a good half hour! It has pegs for each of the shapes and at first, he was having a little difficulty putting the appropriate shape on the right group of pegs, but he soon figured it out. The holes in the shapes are large enough so it is not difficult at all to put the shapes on the pegs - sometimes the problem with traditional puzzles. It is durable - made of really nice wood - made to last! I love wooden toys - just for the sake of durability and longevity - and this one is really worth it because you really get your money's worth. Just be careful - as with all puzzle pieces...they are easy to lose around the house.
Possibly the most fun of the shape sorters.Don't adhere too closely to the age guide on this one. A younger toddler can begin a process of discovery by simply trying to place the shapes on the pegs. (Most of the shapes will fit only on the correct pegs) With a little parental guidance toddlers can see and feel that the two holes fit on the two pegs. Once they grasp that concept they really can take off. Even if everything isn't quite "right" by adult standards, it is still fun and if put away for a week or so, skills will invariably improve with each additional play session. The skills learned on this game seem to transfer remarkably well to other activities.

bright and fun with one tiny downfallThe colors are brilliant and bright... our 15 month old is in love with it. To my surprise, it doesn't seem to be much of a battery guzzler like most toys. Only downside is it's VERY sensitive. Closing a door 15 feet a way can set it off (ever the lowest volume is still kinda loud) and it's scary/annoying/frusterating and will wake my little guy from a nap if I forget to turn it off. Worth buying, for sure though
Cool Toy 2 daughters 15month and 2.5yrs. Both enjoy the toy, both dance to music and the pad on top that you hit is touch sensative and lights up different with every time you hit it. size is perfect. daddy was a drummer, and enjoys also.
A FavoriteI've never posted a review on Amazon but I have to speak up in favor of the Flash Beat Drum. It is seriously underappreciated with only three reviews thus far! My one-year old boy does his happy dance and applauds wildly whenever he hears the Caribbean-style tunes. We have a room full of toys, and he reaches for this one first.

Great toyI got this for my 3 y/o as she loves to help me around the garden. She has had great fun filling it with dirt and pushing it around.
Very robust and should last for years.

Red WheelbarrowI'm very satisfied with this toy. My three year old grandson loves it. Also cost for shipping was very reasonable.

Little Mommy - Potty Training Doll
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

Not a good doll to potty train withThis doll is great for playing with, but not for potty training purposes because she will only pee on her special toilet, which is very small and doesn't really look like a training toilet. Also it is almost impossible for my 16 month old to get the bottle all the way in the doll's mouth because it is really hard to press it in far enough. And if the bottle is not all the way in water gets everywhere. My daughter likes to play with this doll, but I will have to buy another doll to teach her how to potty.
LOVE THIS DOLL!!!!I, like others, had done my research on all the drink and wet dolls and decided on this one despite the somewhat mixed reviews. However, I have to tell you that I love it!! I really do love the fact the doll only pees on her special potty so water doesn't get everywhere. My daughter is 17 months and it is hard for her to actually get the doll to drink but what I have been doing is giving the doll the bottle of water and then giving it to my daughter with a little bit of water left in it and she puts it in the dolls mouth and feels like "she did it!" But my little girl loves this doll and I love it as well. And I am not sure why someone else thought the little potty didn't look realistic b/c it looks like an actual training potty. You can't go wrong with this doll and even if you did, Toys R Us has a great return policy!!!
Best Potty Training Doll out ThereI just picked this doll up for my 26 month old, and she adores the thing. It is a well-made, quite sturdy and reasonably attractive doll and comes with quite a few extras (2 real cloth wipes, the special bottle, play baby powder, and the potty chair itself). Neither my toddler nor I seem to feel that there's anything else that she needs to have fun with this doll, or have a fairly realistic potty experience. The accessories are sturdy plastic, but the wipes are a bit hard for a toddler to open, and the diaper is a bit hard to fasten, so be prepared to help a small child with those things. I wish the diaper had been cut a little more generously, but I'm certain my little one will grow into being able to work with it on her own.
The box gives no hint that the doll doesn't wet unless it's on the special potty seat, which is a shame. I had done my research and knew exactly why I was purchasing this particular doll, but someone just browsing isn't going to have the faintest clue that this doll is different from your average "wet as soon as you get the water in their mouth" doll.
The one caution I have is... make sure you get that bottle firmly into the doll's mouth. I mean, plug FIRMLY and make certain it can't go in any farther before you squeeze the bottle (and you do have to squeeze it, although water will pour right out of the bottle top if it's not in the mouth). Improperly inserted bottles will cause the poor doll to drool. There seems to be a certain minimum of water that needs to go in to make it use the toilet, but it's not much. We tried shaking it, and she's solidly constructed with no other leaks. What water goes in seems to drain completely, so I'm not too worried about mildew.
One more thing I'm delighted about is that this is a plastic body doll, and my little one can take her in the shower. She's looking forward to giving her "potty baby" a bath tonight, and she's made the poor thing pee four times already since we bought it. She does watch very intently when the doll uses her pottyseat, so here's hoping she overcomes her reluctance to use hers.

My First ABC's Finger Puppet Book

40 bucks??? You have to be kidding! My daughter got this gift for her first birthday. The book is cute. But for 40 dollars I expect more. There are only 4 puppets and of those only one actually detaches from the book. I feel bad for my friends that bought it for her. Save your money.
Love the Puppets - not the "book"Folkmanis, the creator of this puppet Alphabet book, makes wonderful, quality, well-made puppets, and the craftsmanship of this book is no exception. What I was disappointed with, however, was the writing. Each letter of the alphabet is accompanied by a word. Some words hide under "lift-the-flaps" (made of wonderful, krinkly-sounding fabric) and some are implied by the accompanying puppet (for example c has a cat puppet.) I didn't think it would be too hard to write an ABC book, but many words associated with the letters don't seem very well thought-out. For example, the letter K is represented with a "knot." Come on! a word with a silent K? Explain that to a two-year-old! The letter N is associated with "noon" represented by a picture of a clock. My 3 year-old said "N for clock." Then I have to try to explain that the hands are pointing to the 12, thus it is noon on the clock. Not a clear concept to a toddler. The J is associated with a "jacket" which looks like a shirt in the picture -- once again, the toddler says "J for shirt." There are a couple of other questionable letters as well. Cute concept, poor excecution.
Excellent Learning BookWe received this as a gift when my son was born 27 months ago. It is the best book we ever read. It has puppets to act out the words, it has lift the flaps with letters on them and it has pictures hidding under each letter. My son and now daughter - 8 months love this book. It is soft and extremely duriable. I highly recommend this adorable book. Have fun with your kids!
