I bought this for my daughter when she was 7 months. She is now three years old and can finally push on the pages hard enough to make it work. She actually spends more time just looking at the pages than actually using the Little Leappad as it is intended. We now have a second daughter who is 12 months as she has experienced the exact same thing.

We do play together with the girls using this product; however both my children are quite independent and want to do this for themselves. When they can't get it to work - primarily because it requires to hard of a touch to activate - they get frustrated and move on to a new toy.

I am a huge fan of LeapFrog. However, must admit I am disappointed in this product. It is not their best. Due to our experience with this product, we have opted not to purchase the Leappad for our daughter and instead went with a competitor's product. Hopefully, we will have better luck.

This is a great investment. I just think kids need to want to sit and look at books. Our son was 18 months before he wanted to pay attention. Now he uses it daily. :)

We got this for my son when he was 9 months old. He wasn't intrested with it until he was about 20 months old; but now its great!!! He has played with it daily for about 6 consecutive months now. The noises are realistic and the voices very clear. I love that there is noise level adjuster as well.

I bought this thinking my son would enjoy it at about a year and a half. As soon as I put it on the fridge he understood how to push the buttons and really enjoys the song. I like the song too, the voice is not one that makes you cringeeach time you hear it, instead you chuckle at the silliness of it. I think every child should have one of these.

This fun little toy helps entertain my daughter while I do dishes and get dinner ready. She initially just had fun fitting the pieces into the main toy; now she brings the magnets to us and says "horse" or "cow." It's the rare educational and fun toy that makes sounds but isn't terribly annoying. There are also two volume levels, which is good for the parents.

Received this as a gift for my 5 month old son. He LOVES it!!!! His face just lights up & he gets the biggest grin whenever he hears it and we dance to the music. BONUS: It's also a great way to distract a hungry baby while his bottle warms.

We purchsed the L-Max for our son for Christmas 2005. He is in kindergarten and has enjoyed Numbers on the Loose and Letters on the Run. He just received the Sponge Bob game for his 6th birthday and really likes that. It is repetitive, but for his age, that is a good thing since they are learning about sequencing in school and I think it has helped with that. The only problem we have is that the "B" button has become jammed. Whether he has watched his older brother playing his gamecube and tries to push the buttons too fast or what, we are not sure. So far most of the games don't necessarily need the B button and we're not sure if it's worth another $100 to get him another one. It does give him a different way to review letters and numbers then just plain old practice which after a full day of kindergarten, they are not to thrilled on doing.

WE love this product for our 4 and 6 year old. We had the original leapster, but this makes it even better when they see it on the TV screen. Leapster now offers more games...they are great!

We purchased the LMax for our 4 year old for Christmas. It was an instant hit! Plus, it helped him to feel like a big boy like his older brother who enjoys other video games. Yes, the older model is cheaper, but my son loves to be able to plug it into the TV to "show off" what he knows and can accomplish. I particularly like Letters on the Loose and Numbers on the Run. I highly recommend this product. We also purchased the battery charger so we don't have to worry about dead batteries and ruining the environment.

We received this toy as a Christmas gift when my daughter was 4 months old. She is now 10 months and is still not engaged by this toy. She loves to push buttons on other toys, the phone, the TV remote, the TV...ANYTHING!! I think the smooth buttons on this toy have her stumped. I have shown her how and encouraged her to push the flashing spot to hear another song, but Tad always says "bye-bye" and the buttons stop flashing before she can push one.
It's cute, and we still play with it (Mommy pushes the buttons) to hear the songs, but she doesn't pick it out on her own.
She much prefers her Fridge Farm Magnetic Set by Leapfrog. I think that is a more enjoyable toy that will grow with her. Skip Baby Tad unless you need the soft night-time music.

Baby Tad was one of the first stuffed toys my son received. I would keep it in his crib with him. The night-time sleep music was the only way he would fall asleep at night. The songs are much more soothing than a standard mobile and lasts longer. I could set how long I wanted it to play (up to five minutes) which was great so I wouldnt have to worry about going back in and turning it off without waking my son. Or worse, forgetting that it's on and having to change the batteries every morning.

When he got a little bigger, he loved pushing the buttons and singing along with the songs. After about seven months, the batteries finally started to give out. Pretty good life span! Unfortunately, it made Baby Tad sound like he was very sick and it scared my son. I had to hide the toy until I was able to get some new batteries.

Overall, this is a wonderful toy for a baby. It can even last into the toddler years by teaching colors and shapes.

Baby Tad is wonderful. He sings, says colors & shapes. My son loves it! It especailly keeps him occupied during diaper changes, b/c he's at the age now where he won't sit still. I highly recommend it, it's a great learning toy but also a lot of fun.

im 12, and this thing is awsome! i swear it has a mind of its own! it is sooo accurate, that if you were thinking of a mini ipod, it would guess it in only 20 Qs! (ive tried it :) )
this is soo fun, and it has a backlight, perfect for those looong boring trips at night, then you just pop it in your pocket! i love this item!

My father-in-law is an eccentric man who is very difficult to buy for. He has been disabled for sometime and was absolutely fascinated by the games on his cell phone. I was looking for something in that vein and thought this may do the trick. HE LOVES IT!!!! He very rarely stumps it and sometimes it makes him belly laugh. Even better is the side effect my mother-in-law gets--- occasional peace and quiet!! Greatest buy ever!!

I played the game when it was on the Internet back 3 to 5 years ago. (and it's back - [...])
I would think of an object then go through the 20 questions several times using the same object to see what questions it would ask. Many times the start questions determine if my object will be quessed in 20 questions (+/-5).
Great fun using your imagination thinking of out of the ordinary animals or objects then going through the questions.

my daughter loved the flutterbye dreams soother, but it doesn't last long at all. I have returned the item to the store 4 times and got a new one each time and none of them worked. The first one the sound stopped working, I put in new batterys didn't help. The second one the ceiling lights stoped working changed the batterys didn't help. Third one the birds stopped moving changed the batterys didn't help. Fourth one the inside lights where the birds are stopped, of course I changed the batterys each time with new batterys and I tried the batterys on other toys to see if the batterys or ok and the batterys was ok. Ive been through 4 of flutterbye dreams soothers and I just gave up and got a different brand, I got Vtech soother and haven't had any problems with it.

My little loves the show on the ceiling , but when it arrived the amazon box looked to be opened and tape shut at least twice same as product box, makes me think that when buying a NEW product that you could be getting used or returned merchandise, was not done buy carrier delivering ....

My husband and I call the Flutterbye Soother, "The Birds" because we can tell if our son is awake - not because he's crying, but because we can hear him turn "the birds" on.

During those sleepless nights with a newborn, the projector gave off enough light that we could see what we were doing without turning on a lamp (that's the LAST thing you want at 4 AM). The music would play long enough that we could change, feed and rock the baby then get him back into bed without any break in the tempo. (Sounds crazy, but sometimes silence can be loud.) There are several music and nature sound selections, and they're very nice - even my husband and I enjoy them. I should also mention, that you can change the settings incase you don't want the projector on, or if you don't want the baby to be able to turn 'the birds' on him/herself.

As my son got a little older, he figured out how to turn "the birds" on himself. (There's a GIANT button on the front of the soother, shaped like a bird, that you tap and it turns on. VERY easy to find.) At night, instead of screaming for us because he hasn't fallen asleep right away, my son will turn "the birds" on and watch the projection until he falls asleep ON HIS OWN. He does the same thing in the morning - which gives us a little more time to get ready before we get him out of the crib.

I received the Aquarium Soother and the Flutterbye Dreams Soother as shower gifts. I tried them both and quicly chose the Flutterbye soother because the music on the Aquarium soother seemed almost creepy. It sounded like it was underwater, which fits the theme, but it scared me. Besides the bubbles, it really didn't do as much as the flutterbye soother.

As I said, my son is 1 now, and I've packed away a lot of his baby toys but 'the birds' will out for a long time.

I got it and put it together right the way. After about one minute of playing, the car won't turn at all, and there is a cracking sound fron the front part of the car gear box. It took me 10 mintues to open the from gear box and found a broken gear. The gear looks not normal at all (it has cut out a circle sharp and there is only 1 mm width of connecting material hold the inner and outer part of the gear). And on the 1 mm width, here even a small concave hole which weaken the gear further. No wonder it only ran for 1 minute.

And I got it form the closing Toysrus store, And all sale were final. No exchange, no refund. And it's Toysrus's own brand Geoffery Inc. DO NOT buy this toy at all. Save you money buy something else.

A 4WD, fully suspended RC, w/ front and rear differential gears, and its upradeable with motors, gearing, bodies, wheels, and more (...)That's unheard of. That would make this a bargain. Especially now that its on clearance.

Out of the package, its a pretty fun car, decent speed, easy to drive. I also had issue with a gear breaking in the steering's gearbox, but I purchased a replacement car, and have had no problems, just don't run into things. It is not good for running in dirt, the suspension gets stiff and creaky after exposure to dirt. I bought the hop up kits mostly for the wheels and bodies, as they look awesome. The offroad kit would be good for a crawler, but a bit slow for my taste. The speed set was too sluggish off the line, but I found the speed motor was slightly faster with the stock gears. These make an excellent basis for projects, quite a few people on them intranet forums have modified these with hobby grade electronics, with good results.

I'd reccomend picking up some AA rechargable batteries to go with it.

I have been playing with RC car since I was 5 yr. old so I bought this truck with a little expectation, knowing that it's not a digital proportional steering unlike my Mini-Z monster. My main intention was to buy a small truck comparable size to my Mini-Z to play in the dirt. (...) There's no other RC car can beat this period. The 4x4 system is not the best system because the differential is not closed but you can do some trick with some washer mods.
Suspension is also not an oil dampened system unlike real 4x4 RC but keep in mind the price is only $14.95 while the limited edition MINI-Z monster with oil dampened suspension will cost you around $200 (yet it's 2 WD !!!)
The truck goes pretty fast, advertised at 7.2 ft./sec. and it can go faster if you buy the upgraded kit with the F-150 body. For more torque, you can buy the off road kit with the Hummer H1 body. Overall, I'm very impressed with this truck, I bought two of them with different frequency and bought both upgrade kits as well. I plan on buying two more trucks and two more upgrade kit soon...very soon. That way I can have 2 speedy trucks for on road another two for off road !!

My girls are having a blast making up new passwords, and the big brother is having fun trying to figure it out every time it changes. The only recommendation is to be very patient and speak clearly. Any background noise or change in inflection, stops the journal from opening. But if you remember that it is is toy, you'll have a good time.

My friend has this, and she loves it! I really want it!!! She says that it is really fun, and her two sisters and three brothers can't get in it! This is a really cool jornal and it lasts a long time! Get it for your daughters!

This is a great way to get me writing. It takes you about a half an hour to get it set up, but after that it is great fun. It lets you whisper if you don't want your siblings to get in. It is voice activated so it is almost impossible for anyone else(besides you) to get in. It talks to you so you know what you are doing. You can also put your pictures inside the flaps. If I go to the Kitchen i know if one of my sisters or brother is trying to get in because there is a loud "intruder" alert. if you are gone as soon as you open it, it tells you how many intruders there has been. I have 3 siblings 2 parents 2 birds and one dog i guess you can say we live in a "full house" and no matter what no one can get into this except me. DO YOUR DAUGHTER A FAVOR AND BUY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it didn't hold his attention for long.. it really is cute and very educational.. it is worth it.. I think my little man is just too active.. lol.. but he did like it!

My 2 month old can't stop smiling when he looks at this toy! It is the cutest thing to see how his attention is captivated by the sounds. We bought rechargeable batteries and we charge them at night. Rechargeable batteries are the way to go when you have small children. We used this same toy for our 2 year old. He played with it from about 3 months till he was about 14 months old. This toy helped him take his first steps too! He would hang on to the couch and try to walk to his Leapstart in the middle of the room. A great toy for the price!

I received this from a friend at my shower. I didn't register for it, but she said her daughter loved it. I started using it when he was 2 months old. He loves it. He kicks along with the music, and contrary to other reviews, I think the music is better than most of his other toys. It has many different songs that don't get too old too quickly. He loves the blinking lights and the mobile. I would buy this again!!

My daughter got this for her fifth birthday and has been watching it at least once a day. The first couple of days, she wanted to watch it two or three times in a row. The next morning, as soon as she opened her eyes, she wanted to do it again. It has taken her a few days to catch onto the steps (she mimicked the arm movements right away, but the feet were more complicated), but she loves it. The music is easy on the ears and interestingly includes a song that was supposed to be in the origina Cinderella but ended up getting cut in the editing process, but they came up with very cute choreography for it. She especially loves the magic wand which plays magical sounds, and gets great exercise using the ribbon attachment. Even as I write this, she is wearing her Cinderella dress dancing to the DVD. This is one of the best gifts we've ever gotten for her.

My 4 year old daughter loves this dance studio. She's quickly learning the words to the songs and they're very pleasant to listen to, not annoying like the songs on the original Bella Dancerella/Ballet Studio. The mat is not necessary to follow along with the dance steps. My older nieces also loved it and I had 4 girls dancing along to the music at the same time without using the mat.

My 5 year old loves this. She dances everyday to the video. Great!
