No Seat Belt!!
How can you make a trike for an 18 month old with no seat belt, especially if you are going to use the bar and push the child. That is ridiculous. One year olds fall off, or jump off if they see something interesting. Also, the child can steer, how much fun is that to try to push a toodler that is trying to learn to steer but you are pushing. No thanks, it went back!!

Fun indoors and out
We tried a variety of riding vehicles for our one year old and this one is the best. I find he enjoys this more than the types where he is expected to push himself along with his feet. True, he can't reach the pedals yet but when the purple base is attached as a rocker, he can sit on it and pretend to ride. I find it a bonus that it doesn't rock too much so as to be dangerous - just enough so that he gets the feeling that he's moving. The rocker base de-attaches and becomes a handle so that an adult can push him around without getting a backache. The music and lights are cute, and the tune is not a familiar nursery rhyme so I find it less annoying than most musical toys. The most fun we have with it is when his sister (age 4) pedals and her brother sit's behind her, reclining with his back resting on the purple base/push handle (if you can picture that). So far we have had no problems with malfunction or breakage after 2 months use. We have a lot of fun with this toy, both around the house and out at the park.

We love it!
This was purchased for my daughters first birthday. She loves it. She can "rock" it by herself, and loves to "roll" in it, and my oldest daughter, 4 1/2, has enjoyed the "ride". This is a great toy and I know we'll get years of use from it. FYI-our buttons and lights work great and we have had no trouble.

Radio Flyer's Trike is perfect for my toddler.
I was considering buying a tricycle, but I'm glad I went with the RF trike instead. It's the perfect size for my 21 month old daughter, and she loves to push it around or just sit on it. She especially enjoys ringing the bell - a very nice touch! I also love the look - in a sea of plastic and character logos, it's a refreshing classic toy!

Fantastic first trike
Our son received this as a gift from his Aunt on his first birthday, and once he was old enough to start using it (about 16 months or so), it quickly became his favorite toy. It is a wonderful and well-built trike, and we have lots of great memories of watching him ride around on it non-stop. Our son wore out two pairs of sneakers from pushing around on it, but the trike itself shows no visible wear and tear. It's in perfect condition to be handed down to his little sister once she's ready to ride.

Worth every penny and so much more!
I bought this trike a year ago for my nephew's first birthday. At first I thought he might be a too young for it, but he caught on to it very quickly and even learned to ring the bell right away. Within a couple of weeks he was tearing around the house with it. My nephew turns 2 in May and to this day still LOVES to ride it. Of all the toys I've (and his uncles and grandparents) spoiled him with he still plays with this one as if he just received it. I've been complimented time and again on what a great purchase this toy was, it's withstood my nephew's rough and tumble nature (he's such a boy) and he still loves to ride it. He's received MANY gifts that cost so much more, but what I deal I got on this toy...as I said, he still loves it and I maintain favorite Aunt status :)

Tends to TIP OVER!!
My son is 2 and a half and this was his first bike.He looks adorable on the bike but unless I want to go over and help him he can't seem to manage on his own. Why?Well the darn trike is impossible to steer for one and secondly it tips over very easily. It is really unsturdy. Also what is up with no breaks? This is a cute bike to take some pics looking cute but for serious bike riding..forget it! -mom in Orlando,FL

DO NOT BUY!
My son is almost [...] - he loved the bike but it took less then 1 weekend for the handle to break off.
I thought that we just got a bad sample so we requested a replacement, it took less than 5 minutes for this one to break.
So my son does not have a bike and I have to start looking for one that will last 1 summer at least.

No Brakes?!?!?! Falling apart?!?!?! Returning :0(
Bought this for our gentle 3 year old daughter. In a couple of months of light use, the front bearings are shot. Also, didn't realize it until we got the trike home -- it has no brakes!!!! We live on a long, inclined hill... so we're teaching her "Okay, if you start going too fast, head for some grass." Not a lot of security in that lesson. She likes the trike, likes the fact it has a trunk (so do I). The push bar is sturdy enough for us, and has come in handy for pushing her uphill. But, in all, I'd say Radio Flyer let us down... and it's going back to the store.

    Rusts Easily--Watch Out
My husband bought this for our two year old son... and it was just too big for him to use. So, we thought we'd wait. We had it outside, under a tarp and within two months, it started to rust. Once it started, the rust couldn't stop. So basically, a big waste of money.

Should have bought the plastic Rock-n-Roll Trike instead or a Kettler.

    This tricycle is GREAT!
My 5 years old got on this and pedaled around right away. I've never seen her pedal any bike or tricycle before except the fancy. expensive theraputic ones at her preschool. I read some bad reviews but decided to get this anyway. Our other options were much more money, so I figured I'd try this first. This has not toppled or tipped once in 4 monther of having it. You cant compare the cheap plastic trikes on the market to this. and radio flyers customer service is excellent. Our bike came with a dented fender they sent us a replacement. Oh my daughter is about 39 inches tall. We have this set in the middle position so we still have growing room. If you have a smaller/younger kid go for the 10 inch one. We loved this so much we bought our 2 year old nephew the 10 and its perfect for him. We're glad we ignored the bad reviews and gave it a shot. We all love this bike.

3 year old loves this trike
My 3 year old was having trouble petaling other bikes at retail stores so I took her to toys r' us and she picked this bike out.
This is the perfect tricycle for a toddler.

Rock, Roll and Ride XL Trike
    Made by Fisher Price
    • As your child grows, the base converts to an extra long push handle so you can comfortably stroll behind while they learn to pedal.
    • When your child is ready to ride on their own, the handle removes, seat adjusts, and foot pegs fold up for easy, independent pedaling.
    • It starts as a statioanry rocker, with a flip of the rocker base it converts to a trike with a parent assist handle and then by removing the base it converts again to a stand alone trike.
    • A child's first trike with three fun ways to ride!
    • Recommended Age Range 1.5 to 5 Years

My grandaughter loves to rock, roll and ride
The rock, roll, and ride xl trike is perfect for a young child. My grandaughter who just turned 1 will sit and rock on it for hours before her mom takes her for a spin around the park. It is solid and has many different ways to move.

    Mixed feelings
We bought this toy for my son for his 2nd birthday. He LOVED it.

From a parents view, the bad things about this trike are: first - the handle is very low. I am only 5ft tall and it is uncomfortably low even for me. After a few times around the block my back was aching. Second - I wish you could lock the front tire so the kids can't steer it while you are trying to push. I was constantly fighting him over to the side of the road (hence my back ache!!)The only way to turn this while pushing with the handle is to tip it back and then shift it over. Third - as with all plastic ride on toys, it's very loud on the pavement.

Overall, I think it's a good toy for the money.

In the drive way or on the sidewalk it was great for my son. He started at first by pushing himself around with his feet and by the end of the summer he was able to peddle it himself. It also would have been nice if the handle was removable. We ended up getting him a 12 in bike this year because once he figured out how to peddle he didn't want us to push him.

Still going strong after 4 years!
My granddaughter received this when she was one year old. She is now 5 1/2 and STILL rides this bike even though she has a Disney Princess 2 wheeler and can ride a bike without training wheels. This is an old favorite and she always comes back to it. When she has friends over they take turns riding this trike. You will definately get your moneys worth with this bike!

    Won't last
We bought this for my son in October, and he couldn't reach the pedals so it sat til the Spring when he started using it. After 2 months the pedal mechanism broke and the pedal spins around without moving the front wheel. We're now shopping for another tricycle. I would never buy this product again.

    don't buy it!
i thought this would be a durable toy because of the reputation of radio flyer...WRONG! my son got it for his 2nd birthday and he is big for his age. he was not coordinated enough to move the pedals, so we began pushing him with the pole. it broke within the first week and i hauled it back to the store for a new pole. that pole lasted a short time, and instead of taking it back again, we just let it sit until he was a little older. now he can ride the pedals but the steering has a lock mechanism that does not allow for smooth turns, even when it is not locked. it clickes and locks while he is riding. the only thing he enjoys is riding in a straight line, BUT even then he has to get off to turn it and it's frustrating for him because he needs help since it's so heavy. i wish he had the light simple version of the trike with no extras. DISAPPOINTING

    Fun, but not durable
We used the trike for about 2 weeks before the handle broke. Our son is at the age right now that the handle is very important. We are looking to see how we can order just a handle. Once he gets a little older, I'm sure he will love peddling it!:) The bike itself is very sturdy...just bad handle!

      Not made for small child
I bought this tricycle along with a regular bicycle. I thought that she could use the tricycle now and I would save the bicycle for the summer. Unfortunately, like other reviewers, my daughter who is 2.5 years old can not reach the petals. I tried to put a block on the petal but because of the shape of the petal the block will not fit. She was very disappointed that she could not do it herself. Not a bad product for a first bike, but if you have a small child I would wait.

      Great Value!
This was easy to assemble. My daughter immediately got on it at her 3rd birthday party! Although it has alot of plastic it seems pretty durable, and in my daughter's case this makes it easier to use because it is lighter than other tricycles.

Best Ride-On Tricycle For A Lot Less and Safer Then Others
This is a good investment the reason I can say this is I got my daughter a radio-flyer tricycle and she kept falling off, this one includes a actual set with a back on it. This was agood investment in my eye's and I payed a lot less for this one.

        Very Unstable !!!
This trike in useless! Our 2yr. old tips over every time she tries to ride it. Buy something that's worth the money and safer!
Now our daughter won't go near the thing, or any other trike!
I expected much better from Radio Flyer!

        DON'T WASTE YOUR $$$$ AND TIME...AND bANDAIDS
TRIKE TIPS OVER EVERYTIME MY 2 YR OLD TRIES TO GET ON THE ---- THING!!!!! SO DISSAPPOINTING FOR RADIO FLYER!!!
THE BACK SEAT COMES UP TO HIGH FOR THE KIDS TO GET ON AND OFF BY THEM SELVES,,,THAT IN ITSELF TIPS THE TRIKE OVER ALSO.

        Too small!
My daughter received this for her 3rd birthday. It's super cute, but alas, it's too small. It's supposed to be 2-4 years, and she's average size. But she's having a hard time pedaling because it's too small. I have to bend down and push her along to make much progress. Quality is OK. Lots of style, a bit short on substance.

Great gift for your little biker bud!
My son received this as a gift for his 2nd birthday. We absolutely love it, and the matching helmet is a must have! My son is still too small to reach the pedals, but we expected that. Kids aren't really ready to pedal until they are 3-4 years old anyways, the coordination just isn't there. He loves the bike and scoots around the house and neighborhood on it. **Just a warning to some parents, if your little one is accident prone and you are worried about falling, the seat on this bike is a little more difficult to get on to because it has a back on it. You might want to go for bike without the back rest. We still love the bike and our son is "mounting it" beautifully. Our little guy has yet to tip it over, and he rides pretty rough. This is a very durable little bike, and much more stable than the other trikes out there.
