My 9 month old got this for christmas and he loves it. Loves all the sounds and lights. This is favorite of all his toys. We got it after my 2 year old wouldn't leave it alone at a friends house. She is still very entertained with it. They both love it!

What makes something a good toy?? There are many aspects of a toy that are important in making it a GOOD toy, and one that is recommended. I usually look to see if it is educational in ANY way, how is the durability?, how many children can play with it at one time? and VERY important to me is HOW LONG WILL IT BE USED!!! Well, I can happily say that this toy has met ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!!! It taught Ethan how to pick blocks up and place them into different openings, there are many, it taught him cause and effect.....with a push of a button the top spins and plays music, there is a VERY large space to keep MANY blocks which he loves to "open and close" OVER AND OVER again......He has had it since he was 5 months and still LOVES it at 1 year old WOOHOO!!!!, he plays with it daily....the greatest thing about it? the durability, it came from a friend who used it through 2 children, and now we have it and it is still like new. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT.

My favorite part of this toy is that it keeps my daughter busy and it stores all of the blocks inside! Also, it has so many activities so that more than one child can (and has) play with this toy at the same time. My daughter got this toy with a set of nine extra blocks for Christmas when she was four months old. At that time she really liked the blocks. Now that she is nine months old, she is diligently working on accomplishing all of the other activities this toy offers. This toy grows with your child. The older my daughter gets, the more activities she can complete. She gets a big smile when she has success putting a block in a chute, in the holder or when she makes the music play by putting the block on the center square. She plays with this toy more than anything else she has and it holds many challenges for her. I think that this toy will hold her interest for a couple of years. A great investment. Definitely a toy that grows with your child as her skills develop. Also a great toy to pull up to standing on, it is very stable. I just push it up against a wall to be extra careful, but that's not even necessary. She has stood holding on to it many times in the middle of the floor, and she is not walking yet, she is "cruising" I am giving this toy as gifts to all my friends babies for their birhtdays. Their moms will love it. You get a break while your child plays. It is also fun to play with this toy with your child.

My daughter loves all things Dora.
She would give this toy a 5 star rating...but she isn't the one putting the doors back on, trying to put the figures back in, etc. Then again, she'd probably give a Toilet Brush a 5 if it had Dora on it.

The main problems:
1) Doors fall off
2) Dolls do not stay in seat, especially Dora.
3) sends the wrong message:

The one of the toy's buttons says something along the lines of "Don't forget your seat belt!" prompting my daughter to ask where they were.

She also asked me where Dora's seat is, meaning a booster. I don't expect Fisher price to put a booster in for Dora - though it would be nice because maybe she'd SIT DOWN....hey, maybe that is a good message! ;-)

She's at the age where she fights the car seat and it maybe would be nice to say "well, Dora sits in a car seat!"

I wish I had read the reviews before buying this toy. Yes, the dolls will not stay in the seats, which is a source of endless frustration for my 2-year-old. They should have put magnets under the seats and in Dora's behind. Ridiculous to have a "driving adventure" van that you can't drive anywhere because the second you breathe on the thing, the doors fall off and the people fall out of their seats. My kids still enjoy playing with it, though (recall the Care Bear Castle that was out a year or two ago? Same problem - the kids loved it but it would fall apart like a house of cards). The 2-year-old especially loves the music and the figures.

I bought this toy for my 2 year old daughter. She loves it and fortunately she is too little to care whether or not the figures stay seated (which they don't!). However, she does bring the doors to me every two seconds to put them back on. Another thing that I found inexcusable is that there are no seat belts even though one of the electronic sayings suggests to put on your seat belt. How ridiculous is that!? Despite the flaws, my daughter still enjoys playing with this toy.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this set!!!!!! It is very well made except after some while the pattern on the babysitter's shirt rubbs off. The hair is good quality and the little girl's curls don't come out at all! The babysitter's hair is good for styling and only needs combing once in a while, and if you like sewing it is easy to make little clothes for her. The girl is very cute and I like the little touch of having a dress. Although I am 11 I still like playing with these dolls, sewing for them, and also making acessories.

These two make for a nice addition to the family. They are also available as part of a multi-pack of people on Amazon at a really good price. Adding the babysitter to playtime creates more opportunities for creative play and expands the possibilities. You can't go wrong here.

My grandson was thrilled to get this. Immediately started playing with it to the exclusion of his other presents.

I just can't say enough about the awesome design, the durability, and the creativity of these Goetrax sets. The lighthouse is an awesome addition to your set. Our son loves the sound effects: a really great booming fog horn, seagull, and the ocean (it is a little loud, but so far not annoying!). It's great that he can make it work at the touch of a button or allow the train to work the lights and sounds...which make him laugh everytime the train passes through. Again, it has the same durability as the rest of the sets...just awesome for the younger ones (our son is 2). His train set was bought for his birthday but is fast becoming a favorite family hobby and pasttime for Mom, Dad, and big sis who is 9. She is asking for her own set! Not too many toys bring families together or allow for so much imaginitive play these days...we really appreciate that!

When we bought the Geotrax train system for my daughter, I thought the High Chimes Clock Tower would be my favorite addition. It's old world and reminds me of Big Ben. It didn't dissapoint me, but this lighthouse is my favorite.
It is easy for a child to operate. Just flick the switch and tap the top. The auto shut off saves batteries. Unlike some other accessories, the lighthouse/dock doesn't take up a lot of floor space because you just set it on top of existing track(one curved piece of track is included.) The detail is great and it has smooth, quality construction.
Some evenings we turn off the light in the family room and watch the flashing beacon every time the train rolls through. I grew up near the water so the sounds- waves crashing, seagulls calling, fog horn bellowing- make me want to roll up my pant legs and go crabbing.

This addition to the track is a lot of fun. the green part of the tunnel is fabric, so you can put the tunnel on a curve. My 5 year old daughter loves it because she puts her Polly pockets in the "pool" on the top. Fun for all.

Geo trax are just awesome. It always my 4 yr old to play and be creative by building different towns and cities. It strenghtens and stretches his imagination.

My almost two year old loves his geotrax, and this was a great addition to his layout...He loves sending the trains down a hill and through a tunnel, and loves hiding them inside. We have all but one of the geotrax peices, and would highly reccomend them to any train loving kids...their only downfall would be the amount of space that is required for the layouts. Great fun all the time

My 5 year old son wated this toy very badly. I searched for it at Christmas and had to order it at our local TOys R US becasue it was the HOT toy. I wish I had read the other reviews to see how bad the toy was.

It does not stay together. aS soon as my son touches it, it falls apart. It took over and hour to put together and seconds to fall apart. I called FIsher Price and complained and they said "they knew of the problem" and sent me extra pieces to hold it together. They do not work. It still falls apart. My son has not played wiht this $[...] toy sicne a week after Christmas. He hates it! The Mordrids castle is the same.

ADVICE: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!

It was the only thing he really wanted for Christmas and he has been very happy with his choice! I, on the other hand, wasn't as thrilled. This thing took me an hour to assemble and his little friend all of five minutes to destroy... but I put it back together and it hasn't come apart since. It stays assembled in his bedroom and is still his favorite toy! This was our first experience with Imaginext and we will continue to buy their toys. I recommend it if your child likes dinosaurs.. it is very cute.

We bought this for our boys, ages 4 and 6, for Christmas. They are still playing with it 6 months later, which may just set a new record. The four year old cannot construct it by himself, but my six year old does better building it using his imagination than I did building it with the instructions. It really allows them to be creative and try new things. Good for 6-9 years old.

The Geo Trax system is OK, but why, oh why, would anyone sell a "deluxe giftset" without including sufficient track to use all of the pieces. Tell that to your grandchild on Christmas Day.

I started buying the Geo Trax train sets for my son when he was two. Now, two and one half years later, we have all but three pieces! I had to buy a storage shelf and bins to store it all. If you wanted to keep the collection under some sort of control, you could stick with one theme (air, water, construction, etc. ) and only get the pieces that belong with that theme.
The whole family gets involved when the trains come out. I love the fact that it can be set up so many different ways; that makes the play different every time...you just can't get bored with it. My son's imagination and creativity are thriving in part to his play with these sets. Some days he wants the boats, other days it the airplanes, more often it's the construction vehicles. Either way, he loves it. I especially like the fact that we can build a layout that is so large that the three of us can all play with it and not get in each other's way.
I do recommend buying several additional sets of track. The sets don't come with nearly enough.
I can see this train set being in our family for a very long time!

We got a portion of GeoTrax for my son's 2nd Christmas and he loved it right away. Now for his 3rd Christmas we are getting him more. We have 80% of GeoTrax made (yes our set is HUGE!) and he still plays it after having it for a year. My only complaint is that some of the trains go through battery's really fast. This is a extreamly durable set. My son loves playing with the buildings and the trains when the track isn't set up too. He can't set the track up by himself yet but he's learning. This is a great toy to get the whole family involved. My 1yr old daughter also loves the set and eagerly waits for the trains to go by her so she can snatch them off the track. She's like a little Godzilla! For the train lover in your family this is a great great set!

My little brother, who is 3, just got this book for his PowerTouch. Even though it says it is for older kids it still is great for younger R.H. fans. He loves to use this book and see the characters who he has toys of. He loves to hear their voices which are the same as in the videos. Even for a 3 year old it is educational because it is teaching new words and they don't realize it since they are having fun with the Rescue Heroes! This is the only PowerTouch book that he will sit and use for more than 10 minutes and he has most of them for his age. It has all the favorite characters in the book and vehicles. It is a lot of fun for a little Rescue Hero fan!
