You have to press the letters pretty hard on the desk to get the correct response. You also have to make sure the letter starts at one end and rolls all the way to the other. You can't start the letters in the middle of the desk or roll them on just one wheel the way a 3 1/2 year old is prone to do. Even if you do roll it correctly it still might not respond to you. First I thought I needed to freshen the batteries the way everyone in these reviews said to do but it did not help at all! My child isn't the least interested in this toy and it just sits there no matter how much I get it out and try to help her with it. It is too frustrating for a child that is in their independent stage. Save your money.

This toy works great and is helping my just turned 4 yr. old his letters and sounds. His almost 6 sister also loves it and it is helping her learn and practice her phonics. They like to play school together with this toy. Cool item and well worth it. Great price for such a good toy. Also the volume level is nice and not annoying-so many toys are so loud and annoying-not this one.

My three year old got this for her berthday and loves it. She is learning her ABC's mutch quicker now. I am a blind mom with a sighted child and the braille, raised, and speech letters are all nice things to have. No more hasil of finding easy to braille flashcards!! Thank you Fisher Price!!

We had origenally planned to purchase the road way for Christmas, but it was sadly sold out. We did recieve two of the cars for Christmas for the boys (ages 4 and 2), and even without the track, they loved them! They are easy to use, but lots of fun and really zoom!

We also know many people with children up to 9 that also love it for all ages because of the ease and speed of the cars. While I would not suggest the gift for a 9 year old, I am always looking for toys that span the ages for kids to play together. This toy definitly does that.

These cars are great!! Just shake them up and they go. Our two and a half year old loves them (we have two). Totally kid friendly for hours of fun. I don't have one thing that I would change about them and the price is great too!!

Very cute, and not too loud or annoying. It's a great car for the vehicle-obsessed toddler, including our playmate down the street. His favorite birthday present!

This toy really doesn't do much. There are two sounds. The fire truck and the rescue vehicle shoot out the station doors. The vehicles don't have the pegs that hold the firemen. The firefighters fall out easily. We were disappointed.

This Little People Toy is Great and So Much Fun!!!!! I bought it for Christmas for My Nephew and my sister tells me he Loves it!!!!! He Loves to hear the Sounds, and put the Firefighter to Bed and the down the Drop Hole to his Truck! He also has learned from it! Just a Great Toy and a Great Gift to anyone!! I Highly Reccommend it!!!!!! Great Job Fisher Price!

For an absolutely wonderful way to expand your child's imagination, fisher price has the goods. ALL of their toys are well built and able to withstand even the most adventorous toddlers, my son adores this product. I bought it for my neice and she loves it as well. You can't go wrong with anything with the FP name.

This is an awesome game, I know my nephew will get years of fun and education from it.

This kit was great for my 4 year old son. I ordered a lab coat with his name monogrammed on the front to go with this christmas gift. My kids love to dress up and this package worked great for him and his imagination.

I purchased this for my 3 year old son for Christmas as his first doctor's kit. He took immediately to it, and wouldn't put it down. The peices are a bit tricky to fit into the case, especially for little hands, but I usually wind up putting them away anyways. The kit is EXTREEMLY durable! There is a band-aid, stethescope, thermometer, seringe, ear scope, and a blood pressure wrap. The thermometer takes your temperature by twisting the end of it and you either get a happy face or a sad face. There are some downfalls that could've been thought through more, such as the band-aid will not fit the average adult. It barely even fits my 3 year old. So whenever he wants to have the band-aid follow the shot-we have to get the shot in our wrist, as that's just about the only place it will fit. Also, the stethescope has a bit of foam at the end where it's pressed up against your chest. That was torn off just about the first day my son had it. And the stethescope is more of a prop-it didn't work at all for hearing a heart beat. If your shopping for a first time doctor's kit, this is definately a great choice!

My 2 year old daughter loves to use this kit to give us shots and take our temperature. We bring this with us if we have to take her to the doctor.
