No Seat Belt!!How can you make a trike for an 18 month old with no seat belt, especially if you are going to use the bar and push the child. That is ridiculous. One year olds fall off, or jump off if they see something interesting. Also, the child can steer, how much fun is that to try to push a toodler that is trying to learn to steer but you are pushing. No thanks, it went back!!
Fun indoors and outWe tried a variety of riding vehicles for our one year old and this one is the best. I find he enjoys this more than the types where he is expected to push himself along with his feet. True, he can't reach the pedals yet but when the purple base is attached as a rocker, he can sit on it and pretend to ride. I find it a bonus that it doesn't rock too much so as to be dangerous - just enough so that he gets the feeling that he's moving. The rocker base de-attaches and becomes a handle so that an adult can push him around without getting a backache. The music and lights are cute, and the tune is not a familiar nursery rhyme so I find it less annoying than most musical toys. The most fun we have with it is when his sister (age 4) pedals and her brother sit's behind her, reclining with his back resting on the purple base/push handle (if you can picture that). So far we have had no problems with malfunction or breakage after 2 months use. We have a lot of fun with this toy, both around the house and out at the park.
We love it!This was purchased for my daughters first birthday. She loves it. She can "rock" it by herself, and loves to "roll" in it, and my oldest daughter, 4 1/2, has enjoyed the "ride". This is a great toy and I know we'll get years of use from it. FYI-our buttons and lights work great and we have had no trouble.

Fisher-Price Dora the Explorer: Dora's Talking House Living Room Furniture

a lot of hype and not THAT much fun...mind you, the toys are durable and somewhat fun [...] Without the furniture, the Dora house is really nothing at all. Also, I don't understand why they included a sofa with the house, and then make another couch accessory, but the cushions ARE cute.
My daughter recieved the pool add-on, and she really plays with it more than she does the entire house!!
I guess I'm just disappointed after REALLY searching hard for these toys. I am definitely going to wait until the stores are stocked again and buy them at $10, which is more what they are worth.

A better furniture set than the bedroom oneThis living room set is alot better than the bedroom set for dora. The couch pulls out to make another bed, it comes with two soft pillows, a colourful lamp, the newspaper and the coffee table that flips its top to make a tea set appear! the problems are though that the couch doesnt always allow for the heavy figurines to sit in it without falling off of it, wich can be dissapointing. Also somtimes i find that the couch 'pull out' section is detached from the rest of the sofa. this i am sure is my 1 yr olds fault though. But it does just snap back together, so its an easy fix if there is an accident! The rest if the accesories are fine though.
Daughter's love it!We bought the talking doll house and furniture sets, after looking for a while and finally completed the set just after Christmas. My 3 year old got this as one of the first sets and can not leave it alone. She plays with the sets and house every single day and her 6 year old sister has even joined in. I like the fact that there was a couch with the house and then this set, no one is without a couch and they each get one of the cute pillows to use and share the lamp and table. They're durable and make my 2 very happy. That's all that counts!

overpriced and overratedThe Little People Animal Sounds Farm toy is overrated and overpriced. I believe the best toy is the simplest toy that doesn't require too much assembling time. The animal sounds are muffled, e.g., the pig and the cow. These animals don't do much except staying in the same area. In addition, it requires screw driver and batteries. I would rather spend my money in purchasing coloring activity books. I would prefer purchasing a toy that actually enhances my child's developmental skill which I don't believe this toy has. It couldn't keep my two-year-old daughter attention longer than five minutes. For the number of pieces and quality of the product, it should be priced no more than $20. How much does a chip cost anyway?
I had this when I was a kid...I had the wooden little people set when I was a kid but bought the more updated version for our kids when we saw it. It is just as good if not better than the one I had when I was a kid. It is durable, makes plenty of sounds, encourages free play, and is a lot of fun to have around.
Everything a toy should be.

Great for toddlers! This is the last Little People set I purchased for my toddler son. He has most of the other "big" sets, and didn't have this one, so I read reviews and decided to buy. I have to say that I am a little disappointed as my version does not have the scarecrow or the catapulting bed :( However, I do find that my son enjoys this toy. He loves to place the animals in their "homes" and hear the noises that they make. He enjoys piling all of the animals, including the farmer, into the horse and cow's stall. Cute!
What you get:
1 Barn
1 Farmer
1 Farmer's cart
1 Horse
1 Cow
1 Lamb
1 Pig
1 Chicken
1 removable rooster to top the barn
Features:
Sounds everywhere! There are sounds for each animal wherever the animal's "home" is located...ie. if you put the pig in the pigpen and press lightly, it will Oink at you. Of course, it will also Oink if you place the horse there, or any other animal, but I figure it can be a great way to teach children the proper sound each animal makes. The farmer's bed also makes a snoring noise for when he is sleeping, or a rooster's call when it's time for him to wake up. There is a workbench that makes a sawing noise or hammering noise when pressed also. There is a merry-go-round in front of the barn that produces a few songs such as "Farmer in the Dell" or "Old Macdonald" when turned.
Overall, this is a great little barn, but I'm writing Fisher-Price to tell them they should have taken away the scarecrow or the bed feature because it's obviously a great feature!

Very EntertainingMy son loves it! He likes taking it to grandma's (no mess on here carpet) and he brings it out on a daily basis to doodle on. He can easily use the lever to clear the screen and the drawer to use the magnet forms to enhance his drawings. It's a keeper!
Great toy for kids of nearly all ages!My daughter received a Magna Doodle about 2 years old, well since then her little brother joined the family and is 20 months old and wants everything his big sister has. So we purchased a 2nd one for him so there is no more fighting! This is perfect for the toddler who loves to eat crayons and markers; a nice alternative without the mess. He loves to sit and scribble on it and then erase his work. The knob to erase is a nice size for little hands as is the pen, except like someone else wrote, it is on the wrong side for left-handed people.
For older kids, this is great to take along in the car on long trips to practice letters, numbers and even just doodling. No worrying with leaving crayons in a hot car!

PerfectI purchased three for my son's toddler classroom and I am going to purchase two more for the classroom and one for home. The children love them

Pixter PitifulI bought the first gen. Pixter in 2004 for my daughters, it didn't have the updated video features but you could play games on it pretty good. After a few months, it went dead, everytime you turned it on and use the pen the screen would freeze. So I figured ok, this thing has just gone bad.
In 2005 I purchased the new and improved Pixter (in pink) for my girls, with the new video feature, and hoped maybe just maybe this one would stick around for a while. Needless to say within two months, the game was blinking on and off and not playing at all. I wrote to Mattel and let them know of their faulty product and they told me to send it to them, I did and they sent it right back, still a broken mess. I'd never buy another Pixter again.
Leapfrog has a much better handheld video game Leapster and their games are far more educational and practical than Pixter.

Love it, but watch out for accessories! My twin 7-y-olds LOVE their Pixters. They spend hours on them. Better in the car than even DVD players, and far more interactive. The only thing I don't like is that all of the accessories I have tried to buy ONLY work on the older Pixter models (called Color Pixter, I believe). The travel case is too small and the digital camera doesn't work either. Now, the camera did say "requires color pixter systems to work." I took that to mean they had to have color and not b/w, not that it had to be an older system. The travel case didn't say anything but "pixter" on it. So, while I've had to return a few accessories, the kids LOVE the toys. So, would still recommend. Just buy accessories with caution!
a FUN creative toy, FUN for creative kids!We were looking for a substitute of the likes of the Video Now or some the other mindless electronic toys on the X-Mas must-have lists. It isn't much cheaper than those others, but we felt that the options for creativity were greater with the PIXTER.
Like the other systems there are built-in functions: a tetris-like game, a drawing page, word games, dot-to-dot pages, and more. The stylus tool is fairly easy to use and the drawing functions have many stamps, backgrounds and other methods to enhance artwork. The PIXTER will save selected works, also there are many accessories to extend PIXTER interest, additional cartridges some with licensed products like Sponge-Bob, Barbie, Walking with Dinosaurs, Teen Titans, each allowing real-time clips and editing of TV scenes ($20 each). One of the most interesting accessories is the digital camera for even more personalized creative play.
My 8 and 5 year old were hooked by the PIXTER. The only problem is the batteries, some systems come with chargers or AC ports, the PIXTER DOES NOT. We bought rechargable AAs for the toy.
Also many stores do not carry assessories for the system, but TOYS R US has the digital camera for the set (@$[...]) which is really great, allowing users to modify & play with photos of their own!

Sound doesn't work!! But a great toy overallMy daughter received this for her birthday, and after trying 3 sets of batteries, the sound doesn't work :( But other than that, it is a great toy.
Loves this toyI thought my 4 yr old was too old for Little People Toys - but because of the princess theme of her 4th birthday party, my sister-in-law saw this and sent it to her. She LOVES it!! This is the one toy that she has really enjoyed since her party. Everything elso was opened and looked at - but this is the one that gets played with!! We added the 'Night at the Ball' pieces and these have also added to the playtime!!
Wonderful toy!My daughters (3 and 5 year old) love this toy! Or is it because the palace is pink? Who knows???

Pull & Spin Caterpillar
Made by Fisher Price
- The 2 body segments create lots of visual fun - one makes 2 Rounds twirl round and round in a circle while the other spins a single Round around
- The Rounds are overtly graphic - one has a 2 color flutter within it, one has a mirrored surface and little bead balls, one has exterior and interior graphic patterns that interact as it rolls
- As baby pulls on the yellow string, the cute caterpillar character rolls, it's eyes go up and down, and the antennae wave side-to-side bringing him to life
- Part of Roll-A-Rounds Collection
- Age Range 6 to 36 Months

cool toyThis is a very cute toy. When it is pulled it's eyes and ears move up and down. My [...] only might like it more than my [...] The balls fall out to easy though. When it hits a turn the balls usually fly out, and I don't like that. When I bought it, it looked like there were plactic covers that went over the balls. It turned out they were not part of the toy, but it would be a good idea. We have a huge collection of the roll-a-round balls and peek-a-blocks. They are really neat toys.
Wonderful pull toy! Our daughter got the pull and spin caterpillar for christmas (she was 9months at the time). At the time she wasn't able to pull it but loved to chase the caterpillar as it was being pulled. Now at 12 months she is able to pull it herself and loves putting just about anything on the back of the caterpillar.
The toy it self has a very cute face and when pulled the eyes and ears move up and down.
The only problem with the caterpillar is the pull string. It is very small and thin allowing it to slip through little hands while trying to pull it.
Overall a wonderful toy, not only for the balls that come with it but for anything else that your little puts on it!

Great fun for 14 month oldMy 14 month old daughter LOVES this toy. She spent the first night walking it around the house singing to it. Even my 4 year old thinks it's cute. It has a happy little face, has a great turning radius, and makes a great first pet. She puts smaller stuffed animals on it's back and gives them rides, too. Pretty cute, for the money. If your child likes balls and pull toys, this is a winner, especially for the 12-18 month crowd.

A little disappointedMy son LOVES Blue's Clues/Blue's Room so Santa Claus brought Blues Room Chicka Chicka Conga Blue for Christmas. He does like this toy and he likes to hear Blue sing. I am just a little disappointed with the mechanical sounds of this toy. The mechanical sounds are very loud; not smooth. They over power the music. The toy is also a little heavy for my son to carry around. Because of this he doesn't play with it much. For close to $30, that's not great.
BLUE'S A DANCING FOOL AND LOVES THE ABCs2 1/2 Loves blue! She(blue) dances like(two hand functions)crazy, tail wags and says the ABCs,also makes some animal sounds. It's cheaper here,$19.99.Other places want $29 and up,plus shipping! Shipping was FREE and it only was $1.55 tax in Cal,. Same size as His Elmo.
This Blues Clues is a wonderful toyI wanted to originally purchase a Tumblin' Tigger for my 2 yr old daughter for christmas. When it was all sold out, I hesitantly looked at the Elmo and Blues Clues characters. As I'm sure the Elmo one would have been great, I believe I made an excellent choice w/Blues Clues. First, when you touch her right paw,it sings the song, "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" which I've read to her a lot. It's fun to hear her try and sing the story as well. It's a catchy tune that isn't annoying. Second, it recites the ABCs when you press her other paw. Blue will stop randomly at a letter, and says something that starts with that letter, and asks the child to help her make that sound. (ie, "C is for Cow, make a cow sound with me".) It's neat b/c she never stops at the same place twice. And last, Blue "dances" and wiggles her tail while she is singing, fun for the kids to interact with. A great toy, I am very happy with my end result as a gift.

Save your moneyI bought the "backpack" for my 2 year old daughter - it instantly turned into a source of frustration for her. 1 - the backpack opening is too small and it is hard to put items in and take out, even I had trouble. 2 - the backpack is NOT a backpack, there is only a carrying handle. My daughter wanted it on her back, like Dora wears it. I ended up tying ribbon to the bag handle and taping it on the bottom so she can wear it on her back. That being said, I really do not want her walking around with a hard plastic item on her back. I plan on purchasing a fabric backpack instead.
The only positive comment I have is that the phrases the backpack plays are cute...

Not a very functional back packThe only way to carry this backpack is by a small handle on top. When you pick it up by the handle, due to a very poor latch, the top just flips open, which is frustrating and impractical. I used packing tape and attached a thick ribbon so my 2 yr. old could atleast carry it over her shoulder. She plays with the camera some, the telescope less, and the other two pieces not at all, and unless you get it just right, it's difficult to get them all in there (especially the camera - the opening isn't very big). Though it's "bilingual", I'd definitely reccomend a different backpack for play and carrying stuff around.
Cute but has flawsBoth of my daughters (ages 3 and 2) love Dora, and they truly enjoyed carrying around this package. They spent the better part of 48 hours going on adventures to save beached humpback whales and rescue Tico the squirrel from Swiper.
I have only two complaints about the backpack: it's not a backpack (minor) and the opening is far too small (major).
Your child cannot carry this pack on his/her back because there are no straps to do so. Rather, the child must hold the pack like a purse using the handle at the top. My daughters didn't seem to mind this, save for the fact that the pack popped open several times as they were carrying it.
The opening, however, is far too small for the camcorder. Getting the camcorder, map, compass, and telescope into the backpack takes either a very patient adult or a small child who's willing to cram as hard as necessary until everything gets it. Getting it out is another matter. I strongly urge parents with children under the age of four to avoid this toy. Watching a temperamental two-year-old struggle to wretch the camcorder from the clutches of backpack amidst screams of pure irritation is not worth it.
Overall, the product is cute, but would be better with a less rigid backpack design that actually fits on the back.

Sturdy toy but wish it were a tad biggerI am three years old and have trouble putting the clothes on the hangers. The clothes easily fall off. I wish this thing was a little bigger because it doesn't fit all of Dora's clothes and accessories.
Good accessoryThis is a durable toy with colors that are appealing to little ones. It is also cute - it comes with petite hangers and a basic dress. It is more work to put the clothes on the hangers and try to cram them in the armoirse than it is worth however. We usually turn the storage bin on it's back, shove the clothes, shoes, etc.
great ideaGreat idea to hang clothes. The hangers are not long enough to keep the clothes on. If your child is like mine who loves to dress and re-dress dolls, the armoire is not big enough if you purchase more then 3 outfits. The price is great now. I paid $20. Great item just wish it was a little bigger maybe even a drawer.
