If you bought this toy in 2004 and RUSHED out to get the extra dolls, you are generally happy with it, as you will see in the reviews below. But if you bought it post 2005, when the extra dolls were no longer available (although the ballet studio is still in stores) you'll have either 1) have a very lonely Cinderlla twilling around the floor, or 2) a very angry Mommy or Daddy who need to shell out (...)these now "rare" "collectors item.

My 2 year old daughter was so excited when she received this gift for Christmas. She also received the JoJo's Circus Magic Circus Friends Pack. I was lucky she did, because the characters have magnets in their feet and some of them (Dinky and Goliath) work pretty well with the Ballet Studio. (...)

Second only to the Little People Farm, this toy is a favorite of my 15 month old! It's easy to use, durable, well-priced, and has a lot of educational value. Because of this toy, my daughter knows the names of the zoo animals and the sounds they make (a seal says orr orr orr, and a monkey says ooh ooh ooh ahh ahh ahh). This can be helpful to parents like us who have no clue what sounds a seal makes! The only things I don't like about this toy are 1) the monkey is attached to his tree and doesn't come off; and 2) the polar bear makes a splashing-in-the-water sound and I think that can be confusing to a child when all of the other animals make a real animal sounds. Other than that, this is a great toy!

My daughter received this for her 1st bday and loves it. She loves to hit the buttons and hear the different noises. But most of all she loves that bouncing monkey. Her face lights up everytime he jumps, and shes so proud she can do it herself. She loves the little animals and walks the house holding them. Plus the little car that comes with it, she drives it through the house too. Great toy, I went out and bought more little people toys for her. She loves them all!

My two sons just love this toy. My eldest is 2.5 and loves animals and it's a great imaginary play toy now, and my 10 month old just loves hitting the monkey and opening and closing the doors and sucking on the animals. Both will play with it for extended periods of time. We have had it for 1.5 years and it has been used nearly every day of that time, in many different ways.

This cannot be played with. It looks nice, but as soon as you touch it, pieces fall off. I eventually had to use model plastic cemet to hold this toy together.

Here's my theory of the Imaginext line: The initial sets were really cool with detailed painting, sturdy construction, heavy-duty plastic, etc. As the years went by, and Imaginext didn't sell, they just started recycling pieces from the old sets and repackaging them with new names. So the old Medieval sets were repackaged as "King Arthur." The pirate sets were repackaged as "Captain Hook." It seems like they've given up altogether on the construction worker sets. Now they only deal in dinosaurs, and the dino sets are mostly figures with very few of the large buildable playsets. Avoid these newer sets and try to find the older castle sets, most likely on Ebay or at a toy liquidator.

My four-year old boy absolutely loves this toy. He can easily manipulate the small figures and has spent hours moving them in and out of the secret passages and through the drawbridge.

We also have the Dragonmont Fortress (the "bad guys"). Both sets are very sturdy and durable. He leans on them, turns them around, pushes on the walls, and nothing has broken. As a bonus, the walls and parts of the buildings are interchangeable with the other Imaginext forts and castles. With a little practice, you can create far more than just the basic castle or fort.
