Simply amazing bike
Great Ducati Mock upThis seems to be a loosed interpretation of a new 2005 Ducati Multistrada. A beautiful motorcycle in its own right. I would love to see Lego reach the same licensing agreement with Ducati they have with Ferrari to create approriate replicas. While the V4 is great to watch function on the bike, a correct "L" twin would be incredible.
Lego 8420 powerful motorcycleSimply Awsome!!!!This is a big machine, highly detailed with many working things like steering, 4-cyl engine and tranmission-chain drive.Instructions for 2 models included, the other is a chopper like the ones built by OCC. The new shock suspension has 2 settings, soft for an "easy ride"or hard for "speed". Get this bike SOON since it is not on sale at lego.com or ebay. (...) I was really surprised to see this in my local toys'r us. I will post photos when i finish it.

Fun, but doesn't pick up wellI recently bought the gator, but it won't pick up the blocks at all on hard flooring, and on arpet yo have to get it at just the right posistion and even then kinda push the block in the alligators mouth for it to catch it.
The idea is great, and my son loves it, it's a fun storage, however he did a better job picking up the legos and just putting them back int he big yellow bucket his first set came in.

Works perfect, great all around! This is a toy I was certainly pleased to recieve as a holiday gift. It picks up better than I expected. My son and nephew rolled it over everything they could find and it worked great. We haven't had it very long but it seems durable. You will be glad you bought this.
My son&daughterI bought this toy for my son's 2 b-day and he fell in love with it.(although he has picked it's eyes off lol). It gets lots of use because my little girl love it to! It's so cute and colorful. I have no trouble picking up the blocks with mine. It's a wonderful toy that you don't have to worry about buying batteries for! Cute! Cute! Cute! Every family should have one! oh not only does clean up after itself, but it's also to clean off!

Love itI bought it for 8 years old boy and start to play with it instantly. He love it and shared with his friend.
Please don't overlook this wonderful line of toys for your child!I have resisted buying these because they seemed so cheap...also the usual question we parents always ask ourselves..."What are they going to do with them?"
My son received his first bionicle from a friend on his ninth birthday...it was cleverly the "bow" on a birthday present. I now regret overlooking this wonderful line of "lego's" for so long! My boys love these! They have the best time building them and an even better time playing with them.
They are priced reasonably so you can always pick-up one as a treat during trips out "shopping". If you encourage your children to "save-up" for some of their "wants", the cost of these is low enough that it doesn't take them months and months to realize their goal.
Please do not make the same mistake I made and misjudge these toys. You will be denying your child a great experience.
Although the manufacturer suggests ages 7 and up, I do not feel a child younger than 8 or 9 would be able to independently put this toy together. My 7 year old needs some help putting these together, but he loves to try all by himself. That is the point of Lego's, to construct and play. The primary benefit, in my opinion, is the satisfaction of "doing it" yourself!
A definate A+ for our boys!

Great!!!I basically agree about the other review. However,I have a few things to say.I would recommend this bionicle to anybody, any age.It is not really complicated, however,so I would not suggest this product if you are looking for a hard-to-build bionicle.Other than this,it is a fantastic product.

won't stay togetherThis toy is extrememly frustrating for my 8 year old because the pieces do not stay together at all. He'll put one into place and a few others that were already placed will fall off. The idea is a fun one, and he would love it if he could get it to stay together at least once. He got 3 fire and ice dragon sets last year, but all of them have the same problem. I guess Mega Blocks just can't build "lego pieces" as well as Lego can.
Icey DayI think this toy is great it has seven warriors unlike the Man-O-War.The Vorgan Ice fang is great and the structre is just amazing compared to the man-o-war and the dragons that come with this set are graet!!!!!!!
Incredibly imaginative!I was initially hesitant to purchase this set because it looked like a recycled Man O'War with random pieces attached. In fact, it's a very different ship, and it's far more fun to look at and play with than the vague pictures might suggest.
While the base of the ship is a recolored Man O'War base, most of the rest is done quite differently. Having built the Man O'War only a week ago, I can tell you that this became a very different building experience after the first twenty minutes. It's not as complicated as the Man O'War, either. This was the perfect starter set for my wife, who has never built a Lego or Mega Bloks set before. She found the level of difficulty to be perfect, neither too easy nor too frusterating for a beginner. Naturally, a child who has never done one of these before would need some assistance from an adult.
When the whole thing's done, you're left with a boat that's just itching to tell a story. The main mast is used to dangle prisoners via a chain and magnet over a Cave Monster residing within a pit on the boat. A throne is located on the upper level at the rear of the boat so that the Vorgan King can look on with a simple grin on his face. An adorable Vorgan with big goggles resides in the Crow's Nest, tugging at chains attached to the skeleton Dragon pulling the ship (who need sails?). Little does he realize that another highly confused Vorgan sits on the dragon's back, whipping him and failing to understand why the dragon won't go where he wants it to.
The level of detail in this set is superb. The boat and its pieces have been subjected to a highly detailed paint job, making it look as though the boat has been through many an icestorm. The hues are subtle and perfect. "Wooden" pieces appear to have ice in their grooves. Unfortunately, none of this is depicted on the box.
In addition, the Vorgans (little green Orc people) are simply adorable. Someone put a lot of love into their designs, giving each one a definite personality that comes out in their faces. Each one also has actual puffs of hair on the backs of their heads. It's not just painted plastic.
Lastly, the dragon and monster are just beautiful. I've never seen this skeleton dragon before (usually, Mega Bloks just repaints an old dragon) but he's gorgious, with a lot of detail and articulation, and even transparant frost between the folds of his wings. The Cave Monster is recycled from a billion other previous sets, but he truly looks best in these wintery colors.
All in all, this set is a real winner! For those of you that really like building realistic boats, the Man O'War would be more up your alley. For those of you looking to build a fun and imaginative set, this one beats the Man O'War by a longshot. And if you're a fan of the Vorgans (or of funny Orcs/ Monster in general), you simply must own this set!

Lego Stories and Action Vikings: Viking Ship Challenges the Midgard Serpent (7018)

High on Cute, Low on DurabilityFirst, I confess: I'm an adult and I love playing with Legos. Thus this ship was something of a disappointment. As other reviewers noted, it's very unstable; the hull wants to keep collapsing as you build on it. The dragon figurehead will fall off if you breathe on it. Since the set SEEMS to be designed to be played with -- i.e., fire the catapult, move the sea serpent, etc. -- I would think a child would be very disappointed in this as a toy. You can't play with it or even touch it. So it's reasonably fun to build but that's it -- it's definitely under par given Lego's usual attention to such details.
Great to build, lousy to play withMy son and I had a great time building this beautiful ship, but shame on Lego for not putting a dislaimer on the box, "Not for Play, Only for Show!" You can't breath on this thing without the hull falling apart. You expect small pieces to fall off, but the backbone structure?. I will start tomorrow on some modifications (glue anyone) to make this thing an actual toy for a 7 year old with a great imagination. By the way, whatever happened to making your own designs with generic bricks?
Great for older kids who like to build & rebuildMy 7 year old had a great time putting the ship together, but I have to agree with the other reviewer who mentioned the durability factor. Once the ship is together it needs to stay in one spot or it will fall apart. Quite frustrating for my guys who wanted to 'play' with it after it was built. Looks good up on the shelf though...
