GREAT improvement/set
Hidden FeaturesThis Star Wars Lego (Lego #6209) is yet another excellent kit in this series of Legos. This particular kit is loaded with interesting features, and has enough pieces (537) to require a couple of hours of building time.
This set has four people; Boba Fett, robot IG-88, Dengar, and a Bespin Guard. Han Solo in carbonite is also included, along with a special storage location in Slave 1.
This set has numerous compartments. The cockpit swivels along with the outriggers, on either side, similar to Boba Fett's ship in the movies. There are small levers on either side of the ship. One lever attaches to the storage area that secures Han Solo's carbonite block. The other lever launches a spring-loaded missile that you can access through the top of the kit. Yet another swiveling piece on the back end of the ship drops two bombs.
There are two small compartments (one on either side of the ship) just above the small levers that could hold a blaster. Along the spine of the ship are the covers for the missile, two doors that swing up to allow weapons to swing out, and two smaller doors that swing open to allow storage racks to swing out. Also on either side of the ship's spine is a pair of swiveling guns.
This set contains a lot of pieces that are lightly supported, and thus this particular kit is poorly built for rough handling. As I maneuvered the ship the front portion under the cockpit came loose, and I had to carefully reattach it. Most Legos kits require the pieces to be firmly pressed together and this one even more so.
This kit is a must have for a collector of Star Wars Legos, or anyone looking for an interesting Lego kit. My only (rare) complaint is that this kit may be purchased in other places for less than the price that was shown on Amazon at the time I wrote this review. Assuming this kit is still in production when you look to buy, you may want to see whether you can find a less expensive place to buy it from. Enjoy!

Lego fixes its old problemsThis toy was very surprising indeed. Before the prequels, they made the trilogy sets, but not as well. Then after they make all the prequel sets, they went back to fix the original problems of the first sets. I was a major consumer of the old lego SW sets. I have a number of them, from the MelLenium (Sorry, forgot how its spelled)Falcon, all the way to the old Slave 1. I liked the old Slave one at first, but i soon relized it was not a very detailed set. When they remade the Jango Version, i was still abit disapointed with its durabilty and detail. But when this one came out, being the HUGE Boba Fett fan that i am, i had to go out and buy it. After spending a high $50 price tag, i went home to construct it. I tell you....i wasnt disapointed. This one was alot more detailed then the previous two. It was well worth the money and it is proudly on my big red collecting shelf. This Set is definantly a five star set.

Could be better, but not badThe price is a bit lofty (pardon the pun) for what you actually get. A price of $25.00 would be better suited. The main reason I got this for my 2 year old son is the fact that until the age of three, there are no good construction toys on the market. At least, none that look like the things they're supposed to be (Little Tikes and Tonka - please, the stuff looks more like spaceships!). My son just loves construction equipment but since he can't have anything metal at this age, this is the only option. The accompanying parts are really of no value and the inherent problem with Lego theme sets is that there is little option for variation in the construction of the pieces. That having been said, this toy got the biggest smile when he unwrapped it (possibly because of the Bob the Builder theme, but maybe because of the appearance too), and he has been playing with it consistently since Christmas. And I think he will for quite some time.
Imagination StimulationI am a pediatric therapist so I am picky when it comes to toys. My own 2 year old loves this toy. From a theraputic viewpoint it works on plenty of communication and fine motor skills. We love pretending and playing. I bought all the Bob Lego Toys and we play and play. They are durable and a good value.
THE must have for Bob the Builder fansI bought this toy two months ago. My 3 1/2 year old son absolutely loves it. He also has a bucket of Lego Duplo blocks and plays with Scoop and Lofty every day! Yes. It's been two months and he still plays with Scoop and Lofty every day. The trucks are excellent quality as all Lego's products. He can build and rebuild them mixing and matching parts as he wants, picking up other Lego blocks with Lofty's hook or Scoop's scoop and building houses, towers or whatever he wants with them. I must say that from all the Bob the Builder playsets and toys out there this set from Lego is by far the best as educational, fun and quality toy. We also have the Muck and Roley sets which were a great addition to my son's Lego's collection and they are great too but this Lofty and Scoop set is much more fun to play since both trucks can accomplish more together than the others alone.
So, if your child is a Bob the Builder fan this Lego set is THE must have. And it comes with Bob too.

Oh no, not again...I needed something to land my Lego Millennium Falcon (check it out at www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0001CU1HY/ref=cm_aya_asin.title/104-0488135-0118334?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance ) on, so I decided to pick one of these up. It seemed all right at first, but thanks to its lack of rigidity it's a bit loath to hold onto the ship's landing gear. One little flex when I'm movin' it from one room to another, and alla' sudden the Falcon's takin' a catastrophic hyperdrive jump straight downward to Planet Floor. It also doesn't hold onto the various mini-figures very well, either. On the upside: it goes a lot better with those Lego Star Wars ships than the much smaller green base plate I was planning to get instead...

It's not what I remember.....Yes, it's a grey 15" square Lego plate. But I seem to remember the "baseplates" being the same thinkness as a regular Lego piece. ...the base plate is a thin (1/16"?), flexible Lego baseplate that will allow you to build really big stuff, but it's tough to use on the "living room carpet" because it is so thin it flexes into the carpet when you try to press a "house" onto it. The result is that either only one corner of the house sticks, or it sticks fine, but all the other structures you've put on, flex off.
Anyway, it's a vital item in any kid's (or adult's) Lego set....
glue it to a piece of woodIf you're worried about it flexing glue it to a piece of wood. If you get the right thickness of wood you can match the height of the board to the height of a regular brick (ie: 3 flats high). I've got two of them expoxyed to the center of a 2' x 4' piece of MDF (~ $3 + epoxy) and it works great on the carpet. There's extra room around the plates for building or running cars on, etc.

Leggo Harry Potter Rescue from MerpeopleMy son absolutely loved this toy. Unfortunatly, some of the pieces are very small and easily fall off the toy. After a short time period, too many pieces were missing. Because of this, my son hardly plays with the toy anymore.
Lego is the best! This is a fun activity to do with kids. The instructions are very clear and it was easy for my 6 year old son to put it together. Along with the other lego sets and an active imagination, we have tons of fun.

Lego Play Themes Batman The Batmobile: Two-Face's Escape (7781)
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

The Dark Knight Arrives In Grand LEGO Fashion......and the result is quite worth the price. After a botched attempt by Art Asylum to provide Batbricks to the masses, the LEGO folks, in their infinite wisdom of all things building-blocky, quickly snapped up one of the crown jewels of action-toy licenses. The first wave should fulfill expectations neatly: the Batboat, the Batplane, a neat little Batdragster, and of course, the featured set on this page, the Batmobile.
This set, in fact, features two vehicles - the Batmobile, which bears a slight resemblance to its 1989 film incarnation, and a two-tone customized armored car - and three figures - Batman in a black suit reminiscent of Michael Keaton's time under the mask, a Bruce Timm-inspired Two-Face complete with a two-tone and two-style hairpiece(!), and a henchman in a two-tone shirt. There's also a crossing gate meant for the two vehicles to smash through in pursuit, though most of the kids likely to take an interest in this set will probably chuck that thing first chance they get.
Now for those adults out there who will likely be involved in the task of assembling this set, some patience is recommended. The instruction book takes its sweet time getting to the piece de resistance, but then this is probably meant to provide a build-up or 'prep time' for the whole enchilada. Also it's probably a good idea for your young ones to exercise a bit of caution on the Batmobile's forward-mounted missile launcher - even with a big round soft-rubber tip, that little bugger can travel at quite a clip.
Of course, being something of a comic-book junkie myself, the best part of this set is the options, or 'alternate models', depicted in the last few pages of the book, as one of the variations of the Batmobile depicted bears a pretty close resemblance to the Batmobile as it appears in the comics at the time of this writing. It's a shame LEGO doesn't print the instructions for this alternate models as well, but methinks that might make the set a bit too pricey for what you're getting - although it does offer images of the other sets in LEGO's Batman collection, including a preview of the forthcoming Batcave set which comes with figures of Robin, Alfred, The Penguin and Mr. Freeze.
For my money, The Batmobile: Two-Face's Escape is worth it. Granted, its durability can be as tenuous as any other LEGO set of similar complexity, but it's guaranteed that I'll have to check out some of the other Batsets. And if your kid is LEGO junkie - or you yourself are, like me - odds are you'll find this set appealing enough to give the others a chance.

WOWThis set is great. The boat is much bigger than it looks on the picture and the price to size ratio is awsome.
AWSOME!This lego viking set is just the best for its price and size. when I first got the set I was surprized at all of the pieces. And then when I finished building the set I was surprized at the play value for the price. The dragon is also an AWSOME addition to the set.

LEGO Alpha Team: Scorpion Orb Launcher

Average review score:

Great Creative Building ToyThis is so good for a creative mind. It is not just a toy but also a tool for learning and expanding. This makes a child put on his/her "thinking cap".
Very cool robotic vehicle! The Lego Alpha Team series is essentially "James Bond", or perhaps "Mission: Impossible". Ogel is an evil "Bond villain" character who is trying to take over the world. He has numerous skeleton minions who do his bidding as he builds and operates high-tech gadgets to aid him in his bid for global domination. Alpha Team is a team of top secret agents who use high-tech gadgets and cool vehicles as they track down Ogel and try to stop him.
During their first outing, Alpha Team stopped Ogel from using mind control orbs to take over the world. Their second outing took them underwater in "Mission: Deep Sea". Their third outing appears to take place in the Arctic, where Ogel is using ice orbs in an attempt to freeze the entire world... or something like that. As far as the plot and story go, there's plenty of room for creativity here. Just use your imagination and make stuff up.
The Scorpion Orb Launcher is an impressive addition to Ogel's arsenal. Until now, he hasn't had all that much to work with compared to what his opponents have. Well, that has changed. This awesome robotic vehicle is almost fully posable. Movable legs, fore-claws, tail, and head. The tip of the scorpion's tail can hold an ice orb and launch it into the air to smack down the Alpha Team agent on a hang glider (who is included). The body of the vehicle is a storage bay for ice orbs with an opening canopy. The head of the scorpion is a cockpit for one of Ogel's skeleton minions. I really like how the head was created, with bubbly side windows that open outward in addition to the roof that opens upward.
The head can move up, down, and it can tilt left and right as well. The forearms are constructed from Technic Bionicle parts (dark red Toa leg pieces) on ball joints, allowing for super posability of forearms and claws. The scorpion's six legs are also constructed from Bionicle parts (black Toa arm pieces) on ball joints. His tail has click-joints for good posability. This is a great robotic scorpion action figure, and he's got good durability to boot. Solid design. Colors are primarily dark red and black, with a bit of dark gray. While this may sound dull, I found the color scheme to be perfect for Ogel's menacing robotic creature.
In addition, the Scorpion Orb Launcher can transform into a large viper with arms (no disassembly required). Just make a few adjustments for the transformation. This set comes with one of Ogel's skeleton minions (he has a unique gray head), an Alpha Team agent, a small hang glider, and two ice orbs.
This is an attractive Lego set that's fun to play around with. I like it a lot. My verdict: thumbs way up! A very cool addition to the Alpha Team arctic series, and just what our "bad guy" needs to make life a little difficult for the good guys.

The new Slave 1 has a very sleek design and is very cool! It has alot of cool features;like a hidden missile in the stomach, Two rockets in the sides, bombs in the rear, and loads of opening sockets and such. Very cool, even if it isn't all that true to the movie version. This ship is also surprisingly strong, you can hold it without breaking it and swoosh it without breaking it. There are huge gaps where the wings are, but they aren't greatly visible, unlike the Clone Turbo Tank.
You would expect Boba and Han in carbonite but Lego once again outdo themselves. Included are both Dengar and IG-88(bounty hunters) and a bespin guard! More than I asked for. Some things I didn't like are the smilies; Dengar is a ruthless bounty hunter...with a warm smile. The Bespin Guard looks more ready to invite you to a dinner than fight you. IG-88 suffers from that all too common battle-droid problem, holding your gun to the side. Battle droids aren't gangsters...
Overall a great set with a few minor problems. Don't be afraid of the price tag, it's definately worth it.
