The Lego Alpha Team series is essentially "James Bond", or perhaps "Mission: Impossible". Ogel is an evil "Bond villain" character who is trying to take over the world. He has numerous skeleton minions who do his bidding as he builds and operates high-tech gadgets to aid him in his bid for global domination. Alpha Team is a team of top secret agents who use high-tech gadgets and cool vehicles as they track down Ogel and try to stop him.

During their first outing, Alpha Team stopped Ogel from using mind control orbs to take over the world. Their second outing took them underwater in "Mission: Deep Sea". Their third outing appears to take place in the Arctic, where Ogel is using ice orbs in an attempt to freeze the entire world... or something like that. As far as the plot and story go, there's plenty of room for creativity here. Just use your imagination and make stuff up.

In this set, Ogel has a nifty "Bond villain hideout" inside a mountain where he works on his plan for global domination. As far as the mountain goes, we only get the front side of it. I presume that there are mountain walls surrounding the hideout. Ogel's motif is a skull head. His first hideout had a gray skull head on the front. His underwater fortress (which was very cool, by the way) had a skull head for the front door. This time, the entire mountain is in the form of a skull head. The front gate is the mouth. Hitting a target in the nose of the mountain raises the front gate, offering our valiant Alpha Team agents access to Ogel's high-tech fortress. Atop the mountain are small receptacles for ice orbs. Hitting the black flame behind either of the mountain's eyes launches one of these ice orbs.

Behind the front wall, inside Ogel's domain, is various equipment for analyzing ice orbs, a crane for picking up ice orbs, two movable work stations, and a landing pad for Ogel's personal "spider copter" (a cute little helicopter vehicle with spider legs). The second floor of Ogel's command center is spacious, with plenty of play area behind the mountain's eyes.

Also included is a small Alpha Team vehicle with an adjustable spring-loaded cannon and soft-tip missile. Use the cannon to hit the various targets on the front of Ogel's fortress.

Much of the construction here is pretty basic. Nothing too complicated. There are some Technic parts here that go into the construction of the mechanisms for the opening gateway and launching ice orbs. The mountain is built on a large white base plate with icy designs on it. Colors are primarily light gray, dark gray, and white for the mountain, with some dark red here and there. We also get some nice transparent light blue antennae and two transparent light blue base plates (8x8). There isn't much by way of computer screens here. I would've thought that Ogel would have more computer equipment in his hideout. However, one of the work stations has a nice computer keyboard piece. Out front of the mountain are two ice blocks where you can trap a guy inside. The Alpha Team vehicle is constructed from a mixture of Technic and regular parts, and comes in light blue, dark blue, and light gray. The mountain and vehicles are all reasonably durable. Above average as far as Lego models are concerned.

On the scene are two Alpha Team agents, two skeleton minions, and Ogel himself. The two agents each have a unique and charismatic expression on their faces, and Ogel has that cute Lego "I'm evil" frown.

I have two gripes with this set. The crane would've been nicer if it could move back and forth on a track, and it would've been nice to see more computer equipment and gadgetry here. Still, the gadgets we do get are enough.

This is a nice playset with some cool stuff and lots of play area. Not quite as fun as Ogel's Underwater Fortress was, but it still has that Ogel charm. My verdict: thumbs up. Alpha Team has always been solid fun, and it remains so to this day. It's a unique and inventive theme with charismatic characters and cool gadgets.

ONLY TO RECENTLY FIND OUT THAT THE PRODUCT IS NO LONGER AVALIBLE,NOT ON LEGO.COM, TOYS R US.COM, OR ANY OTHER WEBSITE THAT WOULD SELL LEGOS. I CURRENTLY OWN ALL OFF THE ALPHA TEAM PRODUCTS AS OF YESTERDAY,EXEPT FOR THE FORTRESS.I DEMAND THAT YOU SPEAK TO "LEGO" ABOUT THIS AND PERSUADE THEM TO RE-DISTRIBUTE ALL ALFA TEAM PRODUCTS, INCLUDING OGELS MOUNTAIN FORTRESS AT ONCE, OR I WILL NEVER ORDER ANOUTHER PRODUCT FROM YOUR WEB SITE EVVER AGAIN! >:(

This is one of the most amazing Bionicles I've ever laid eyes on. Lhikan is awesome in every way. His Kanohi Hau, the Noble Mask of Shielding, has great detail and design. The Lava swords are easily one of the biggest handheld weapons in the Bionicle universe. They are also a surfboard (Lift his left leg, remove the swords, put them on the black connector above the right foot so that the foot is under the board/swords, and put his left leg in front of his right.) and a shield. (Take the staff from his right hand and put it in the left, then position the shield/swords in front of him.) Kikanalo has a lot of armor, and Lhikan can sit on him. (Kikanalo's claws should be holding Lhikan's feet.) He can also stand like a Toa, or be hunched over in a menacing way, like a Rahi. He is more poseable than any other Rahi I've seen before in the Bionicle saga. Overall, this set is amazing and if you have(..), pick this bad boy up or order it from Amazon, the site we're on. (I made a strange rhyme!)

This toy is the best of all lego creations after nidhiki. Lhi and kika are always fun to play with. Lhikan (now lhii in this reveiw)is very well desained with his gold rarmor and blades. Kikanalo (kika from now on) is a peach of art. I can find no faults. This toys durability is wonderful because neithe of them have lose hanging parts. The toy is even educationlal *coughparentslookingatthiscough* it teachis how to follow instuction in a book and even eye hand courdination to an extent. WARNING. IF YOU OR THE PERSON ARE GETING THIS TOY FOR DO NOT LIKE RUIND NALES DO NOT BUY THIS TOY ME AND MY FRIEND KILLED OYR FINGER PUTTING KIKA TOGETHER.

lhikan is cool but the kikanolo is okay but lhikan is AWSOME and his tools ARE HUGE AND COOL ok find your happy place
