QUATRO Large *SEE FOOTNOTE*

Lots of fun, but frustrating to small builders...stick to mega bloks maxisafter much researching, i purchased these blocks for my 3 year old. I chose these because the lego quatro big bucket is the only brand of giant blocks that currently offers the lid of the bucket as a a building platform.(the mega blok maxi tub has been discontinued). they are a lot of fun but the only issue is the tabs, you know the little bumps you connect the blocks together with are very small and flat, unlike the large tabs mega bloks offers. this takes much more precision to line up & actually connect the blocks together. and in turn caused more frustration than fun...they are more expensive than the mega bloks also..they are being returned to toys r us tommorow!
Perfect First BlocksI think these giant Legos are perfect first blocks for a baby. We got them for my daughter soon after she turned 1, and she loves them. Of course, for her to actually connect the blocks is sort of hit and miss, but she loves taking them out of the bucket, putting them into the bucket, and taking apart anything her mommy or daddy build. She also likes picking out which blocks to hand to me, which I then use on whatever I am building. We always refer to the color of the blocks, and whether they are big or small or long. They are a great learning tool, and the perfect size for her tiny hands to pick up. My only reason for the 4 rating is because the blocks don't stay connected very well, although I'm sure that is intentional so little kids can easily take them apart.
Good for many agesEveryone has fun with these blocks. I think they are a great investment. My son is 1 and has fun building with (and knocking down) his Quatros. It is a great toy for interactive play - something he and his daddy play with almost every night before bed. Also, my husband and brother enjoy building with these too ;-) I think it is a toy that'll last more than a few months - probably for many years. It is also nice that it is compatible with the preschool table and Duplos. I highly recommend it!

EXCELLENT TOYI bought this for my 1.5 year and it's WONDERFUL. We actually have the big box. I also purchased it for my friends 1 year old and I hope he loves it. My children play with these blocks and they are so big and easy for them to clean up, as well as they cannot be swallowed.
Inexpensive, quality entertainmentMy son really enjoys playing with his legos. They are easy for his little hands to put together, and the product is quite durable. I think toys like this, that don't have lights or require batteries, are the best kind because they let your child use his imagination. Recommended.
Surprisingly good for a one-year oldI thought this might be a little much for a one-year old (the set is rated "1+"), but my son took to them immediately. The sizes, shapes, and colors are ideal, and the set (20 blocks) is just the right quantity...I can't imagine dealing with the 75-piece set. Within a week of receiving them, he got into dumping them and pulling apart any blocks I would build up. At 15 months, he has started occasionally putting them together, sorting them by color and shape, etc. This is an excellent toy to grow with the child.
My only caveat is the lid (block base) for the container. It's not as high-quality as everything else, and ours developed a crack within a couple of weeks. Otherwise, this is one of the best toys ever in terms of interest and overall play time for my child.

Great for the imaginationMy son will sit for hours and play with any of the legos toys. They only compare to his K'nex. He loves to build entire hotels and describes the rooms for me as he does so. He also has been known to make maps using the flat square piece that you can buy seperately to build up on. It is definitally worth while to go for both. He is very creative with them and the tubs they come in make for easy pick up and storage. :)

My Son Loves ItMy 6 yr old son loves Bionicles and now enjoys the Piraka line. He loves the glowing eyes and having "battles" with the others. Sometimes I need to help him, but overall, he can build 95% of it himself and he is proud of his accomplishment.
so evil its funzaktan(the snake] is the cunning leader of the evil gang Piraka. Zaktan and all the other Piraka are going to be the cornerstone for the new generaton of lego toys. First of its the first lego set with teeth[that glow to] as well as the first bionicle with a rubber mask and spine. the construction of this model was easy and fun as well as quite ingenous[ the zamor sphere luncher mechanics] Many people had mixed opinions about the new rubber mask/spine and i would like to clear it all up. First i find the rubber mask to be much cooler looking and it doesn't always fall of after a while of play like the old ones it also contours to the face real good so it looks real the spine unlike what other people said is very good and adds a never before seen look to bionicle. it is really no fuss to appy unless you are younger and locks in snugly as for the problem with the spine and posing the figure yes it makes the head a little bit harder to pose because the rubber make the head fall back to its original postion though it ain't that bad with the arms. the model over all though was easily assembled and the instructions were very understandable [even an inexpirenced model builder can pick it up right away. another cool thing to note is that the mask ontop of the box is completely different then the mask in side. the mask on top is plastic and is on most of the piraka in accurate to the way the head looks[ zaktan has a much longer chin] The zamor shere luncher i fun to builder and when you fire it for your first time you wouldn't believe how far the the little green ball travels. some other cool unneeded accessories are the zamor sphere expansion pack which comes 10 more different colored spheres. hope this revieve covered everything seeya
A striking contrastWhen the Toa and all the first Bionicles came out, it was very simple and straigthforward. Bad guys were different from the Toa and everyone knew they were bad. Now, with the Pirahka, we have villians claiming to be Toa! And the matoran believe them!
One of the things I really love about Zaktan is his weapon. It looks really cool and can change. Also, the little ball launcher (I forget what it's called) is a lot of fun (I shot my brother with it X3) and the glowing eyes are just plain awesome! Though the rubber part is sligthy annoying, it doesn't really get in the way.

Emergency! This neat little doctor set. It comes with an emergency bed and a... thing. I don't know what it is. It attaches to the bed. The vehicle itself is nice and big, It's six studs wide from the front. This is the wideness of many of Lego trucks and medium sized vehicles released today. There is another set, Prisoner Transport, that is much like it only it is a jail on wheels instead of a hospital on wheels, only the Transport is $2 more. This set will go great with your Lego hospital or city scene.
A great kit with a great price! If you're looking for a great kit with a great price, this fits the bill just right! The set includes 118 pieces in mainly white, red, and trans blue, an emergency medical treatment worker (emt), and some acessories (medical case, stretcher, pulse computer). The ambulance looks very realistic, and holds together when speeding it down the floors of my house. Besides being great fun, the kit, like all lego kits, helps to improve hand eye cordination, as putting the pieces together require steady hands. Overall, I really enjoyed this kit, and recomend it to any kid who loves legos.

Not as durable as you want....I'm Toysrus's new critic and my (not real) name is D.L.Smith (no I didnt' pick the name Mom X5, that is my mom's review name) . I used to collect LEGO movie sets like Spiderman and Harry Potter. Now I just use those sets to make new things like forts , but occasionally I'll buy sets that have ships and tanks. This is why I like stuff like LEGO Vikings, Knights Kingdom, and Dino Attack to add cool stuff to my forts. Anyways, that is why I first decided to buy LEGO EXO Force.I thought the cool weapons and robot fighters would make a neat addition to my expanding collection, so I bought two sets so far: this product and the Fire Vulture. I must say that the Sonic Phantom hasn't impressed me much. You will see why.
Durability. That is the key word that LEGO's need to have, and I must admit this is not a very well put toy. Small parts would snap off (after it was done) and it would be annoying to keep putting them on. The one part that snapped off the most would be the laser canon. The laser cannon was pretty annoying and cramped in a narrow space so so you couldn't keep it at a decent angle. Also, the laser canon had a very pathetic beam. I turned off all the lights and put my hand in fromt of it and it didn't shine my hand. I would be willing to pay a few extra dollars for LEGO to make it at least as strong as a laser pointer key chain. If you can't stand badly-put-togheter toys then I do not reccomend buying this toy for all the annoying parts that never seem to stop falling off.
Even though this toy is not too durable, it can still be fun to run around with in your hand like a toy airplane. It has a great place to hold on to to and shoot with the missile( shoots about 7 ft.), which is why I would give the toy 2 and a half stars if Toysrus.com would let you. JUST MAKE SURE NOT TO DROP IT,TRUST ME. The set comes with a small robot to operate the set, nothing special about him. All in all, this toy is fun if you just like to run around with toys shooting stuff.
Thank you for taking your time to read my review.

Star Wars Rip-OffThis toy was just a sad rip-off of a star wars racer, I even think they used the same pieces from their Star Wars line. The packaging was cool and it looked like it would be a good toy for my little cousin Andrew, but he was pretty disappointed with it once he got the box open. Not much play value in this EXO-Force stuff.
Sonic Phantom-- airship of the Robot side!Aside Bionicle, I haven't purchased any LEGOs in quite some time-- until EXO Force. Since it's pointless to just have one, I must have them ALL. The Sonic Phantom here was my 5th EXO Force buy, one of the only sets that does not resemble humanoid armed mecha.
The "So-Pha" is fairly simple to build, but the turbines are the majority of the set itself, making it seem much larger than it really is. It has an airship-type motif with gun turrets on the left and right rear turbines, which can pivot in almost a 360 angle. The turbines can also spin, but not very well since the other parts scrape or hinder it from helicopter-like twirling. It comes with an "Iron Drone" pilot, and one of the new light bricks (red LED). It can be activated by handling the trigger "built" into the set-- which can also shoot a projectile. The whole ship kind of has a bit of a "gun" feel about it, being flown by the kid grasping it like a firearm rather than simply holding it (of course, he/she could do thast, too). It is not as interactive as the other EXO Force sets, aside these points.
As with all the EXO Force sets, it comes with a small sheet of decals, with instructyions on where to put them. Being a tad of a perfectionist, I spent a great deal of time trying to put them on flawlessly-- if you purchase this set for a little one, he or she may want your help with it. I personally like this challenge. Just don't fudge up, there are no extra decals.
Overall, the set is not bad. LEGO always gets high marks for Durability, but this set uses a few bricks in easy-to-fall-off locations. Fun? I suppose so-- your kid will want an open space to "fly" this around in. But being a few bucks more expensive than the other bipedal mecha, along with the lack of interaction that the others have make me understand why it shows disappointment for the other reviewer. It's just a nice looking LEGO airship.

Baseplate is good, but...The extra pieces in the picture are not included with the baseplate. I guess I didn't read all the print, and I assumed the other pieces (shown in the photo) came with. The photo of the grey baseplate does not show additional pieces so it is clear to a buyer that only a baseplate is for sale. It was not clear for the green baseplate. The baseplate is a great piece, but the price is a bit high with nothing else to go with it.
It's good, but...This is a good accessory to go along with your child's duplos. However...
1. After I ordered it off Amazon I realized you can get it for LESS on Lego's website or at a Lego store, if you have one... and no shipping that way, either. I feel like a dolt. I don't know why I didn't think to look - I tried Toys R Us, Target, and WalMart for Duplos, and found nothing good. So I ordered some stuff on line and just ASSUMED Amazon's prices were good, becuase they usually are.
2. Consider a LEGO baseplate instead of LEGO DUPLO. You can use Duplo blocks on a Lego base but not Lego blocks on a Duplo base. Legos and Duplos can go together but their coupling is dependant upon the Duplos' pegs being hollow. The pegs on the Duplo base are solid so you can't use Legos on it. (One problem, though, Duplos don't cling QUITE as tightly to the Lego base... but they do work.)
You should maybe also know that this is kind of a bendy peice of plastic, not hard and solid and thick like the smaller Duplo bases that come with some sets (the ones that are 5X5 or so) It works fine, but I was surprised to learn this, I was expecting it to be more solid.
Great item, great fun, but don't buy it here!!!

Fantastic DUPLO Fun!!!!It is so frustrating for my 4-year-old son to build with his Duplo blocks because it is hard to build a house from scratch on the floor....now that he has these green base plates (I bought 2 of them so he and his sister could build at the same time), he can build all he likes and doesn't fuss anymore about it being hard to keep his house together. A MUST HAVE for anyone with Duplo blocks!!!

Very addictiveThis building set delivers entirely new concept in block play.
The possibilities are endless and the set after a while becomes just not enough to express your imagination and you will definetely go for more.
This is a toy for entire family. My both kids became addictive to it. Under fascinating WEDGiTS spell the creative side of me which I never knew existed
decided to wake up and made me choose different path in life.
5 stars for this set, but I suggest buying larger one right from the beginning.

Perfect gift for ANYONE!I purchased these for my 2 yr old daughter for Christmas. I showed them to my 8 yr old before I wrapped them & I finally had to physically take them from him so I could wrap them. Christmas morning my daughter brought them to her dad "Open this please" was all I heard. About 20 minutes later I looked in & father & daughter were lying on the floor building very intently. It's amazing how many things you can DO with these. I will be buying them for every child I know..... INCLUDING my biggest one who is on the floor watching Monday Night Football after celebrating his 35th birthday- and he's BUILDING AWAY with Wedgits! lol HIGHLY Recommend these!!! Durable, colrful & highly creative!!!
Excellent Fun for All AgesWe bought a small starter kit when my son was a year old. He really gets into as does his 4 year old brother. For his second birthday we are looking to build on the original set and can't wait get building. It is an interesting building toy for all ages from small tots to adults. Incredibly durable. Very difficult to find in stores - glad to see it on Amazon
