I've got considerable experience of assembling and repairing things over the years, and I don't like to be beaten, but this slide went straight back to the shop. As others have noted, attaching the base to the ladder is not trivial - we bent the step in the process.

But attaching the metal clips to the rod was impossible. After spending about an hour hammering away with mallets and hammers and eventually just slamming the thing on the ground, feeding the rod through both the ladder and the slide just was not possible. The darn rod just kept bending. It's a tight fit at the best of times.

Whoever at Little Tikes thought it would be smart to save a couple of cents by using a hollow plastic rod has cost the company a lot of goodwill. If you do have one of these and can't take it back, the best thing I can suggest is to go to your local hardware store and buy a threaded metal rod and a pair of nuts.

Don't buy this slide - Step 2 make a very similar one that, although it costs a little more, is almost entirely preassembled; it took me a couple of minutes to put together. Our daughter - who was in tears as I took the Little Tikes slide away - was overjoyed by the replacement.

I bought this slide because it looked easy to assemble. There was no quality in the way the molded plastic fittings were manufactured. The base and ladder couldn't be assembled because the locking portions didn't match. The plastic rod used in assembly bent and couldn't be made to fit it's connections. It will be returned-shame on Little Tykes, they need quality control!

My husband and I purchased this slide for our daughter's second birthday! We were so excited to see her on it and hoped that it would be a 1, 2, 3 type of assembly...WRONG!!!! As others have written, the Quality Assurance for this company needs to be seriously assessed! The one hole wasnt even drilled...the plastic tubing that you are supposed to TAP into the grommets was a joke - by the time we finished banging on it repeatedly to try to get it to fit into the holes (which it never did) it was so warped, that we would have never been able to thread it into the slide. They need to supply you with a piece of piping or re-configure their design. This flimsy piece of tubing was useless and ended up in the garbage. Instead, my husband used a piece of copper pipe and that worked much better. I guess our main complaint was assembly - the instructions were vague and contained no written words. Something that supposedly took 5 minutes to assemble instead cost us a good hour of our time and frustration! Please write the company if you have had similar experiences so that they can rectify this situation and save others the hassle!

I recieved this playground second-hand for my 2 year old son...I accepted it even though it was a couple years old because he had no "backyard toys". It has heavily faded to pastel colors. The most outrageous thing is that this climber is designed (yes,on purpose) to fill with water to avoid tipping over while being played on. Hot sun + trapped water= DISGUSTING ALGAE!!! Yes, black mold/algae is growing inside the walls of this climber and there is no way of getting it out or cleaned...you can see it thru the plastic walls..it is really gross..In addition to that the clear plastic bubble at the top lookout area, yellows and cracks quickly and Little Tikes does not sell this replacement piece..the child can climb out thru there and fall about 6 feet to the ground.. As far as the fun aspect of it, theres not much to it..the tunnel fits probably no longer than a 3-4 year old,and the 2 slides...the other reviwer was correct in saying the pictures make it look bigger than it really is...Overall im very dissapointed with this item..the algae alone is reason enough not to purchase this...save your money and skip this set as I know that Little Tikes has not corrected these issues on the newer model.

The little tikes 8 in 1 playground is wonderful! We kept our playground in the house,so the colors are perfect, no scratches, dents, or anything! If your kids want one , I highly recommend mine!

The game is very util for my children because aid to develop its ability to them and to fortify his musculos. also makes spend energia and it entertains them healthily.

My son got this toy as a Christmas gift last year and the mics worked but the cd player didn't read - so we got another one and the cd worked and the mics didn't. Finally we just threw the whole thing away because it was broken in 2 weeks anyway. (With very gentle use!) Don't waste the money - buy something else.

My 5 and 6 year olds really enjoyed the use of this cd player until the batteries ran out....very quickly. I'm terrible at remembering to get new batteries, but when I finally did remember, we once again ran out....very quickly. My point is this player really sucks up the battery life, and it takes several batteries to work. The adapter is next to impossible to find. This toy sits on the shelf in the cupboard waiting for the day that I accidentally come across a matching adapter, as I will not continuously buy batteries. It's a shame they couldn't have come up with a better design

My son got this player last Christmas. He loves it! We have lots of fun with the mics & listening to his music. The batteries last for a week if that, & that's if your kid remembers to turn off the player! (ya, right!) I've tried several adaptors, but none fit/work. It's really hard to keep replacing 6 C batteries! I've contacted the little tikes people hoping they can let me know where to find the adaptor.
Overall, it's a good product if you have an endless, lifetime supply of batteries.
