I purchased this item for my son's [...] birthday. I did hours of research online trying to find the best kitchen for the price. After 2 hours of assembly my husband and I were stumped. Neither of us could figure out why none of the doors lined up properly. The microwave door was so uneven my son could not open or close it himself, it took a great deal of force to open and close. Also the dishwasher door wouldn't stay closed, it would open right back up when you closed it! The 2 doors over the fridge were very far from closing even to eachother, however despite my disappointment I went against my better jusgement and decided to keep the toy. With in the week the grill began making this god awful noise. It was louder than a vacuum cleaner and also made this high pitched whistling noise at the same time. Completely unhappy I gathered up all the accessories and drove it back to Toyr R Us. I must say the manager refunded my money in full and apologized for the ordeal. But I can't regain the 2 hours of assembly and inconvenience of trying to fit this mammoth item in my car to return it. I am extremely dissapointed in the quality of this product and hope this helps someone make a better choice than I.

After reading all 33 mixed reviews, my husband and I decided to give this kitchen a try. It only took 30 minutes to put it together and put all the stickers on, not 2 hours like others have claimed. The doors are fine...they don't fit perfectly, but as another parent said...that doesn't seem to faze the children. There is plenty of space to put assessories. There is plenty of surface area and things to do to keep two children busy without fighting or tripping over each other. I am very pleased overall and would recommend this product to another family who has two or more children. Good job Little Tikes!!!!!

My daughter loves this toy. She just got it for her 4th birthday which happend to be on Easter. I was a little worried about this after reading some bad reviews, but now that we have put it together, it is not as bad as some people made it sound. It took about an hour and half to put together, but that is expected since this is a big toy. It also went to together well as long as you followed the instructions. The thing that took the longest was putting the cover together that went over the window. One thing to keep in mind is that there is a reason they put age requirments on the package. I would say that the age on this one should be raised to 3, since it is hard to open the doors and to also close the doors. I will recommend this toy to anybody.

This was a fun and very portable toy for my 18-month-old son. Unfortunately, the elephant noise quit working after about 6 weeks of play, and then the monkey noise stopped working about 2 weeks later. Also, the train easily comes off the track, but my son loves playing with the train that way, too. He's very disappointed that the animals are now quiet.

Normally I am a big fan of the little tikes name, but not so with this product. I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter and although the concept is cute, it is not like other Little Tikes products. To begin with, the train frequently comes off the track. Also to activate it, you must press the button where the conductor goes. However, it is difficult for my daughter to place the figure on this spot without it falling off. She often presses the button in the process which activates the train while she is still trying to put the figure on it which frustrates her. Since this is geared for toddlers, you would think that Little Tikes would have put the button to activate the motion in a different spot from where the figures go. Also, at age 2 1/2 she is quickly bored with it. She has more fun letting it go on the floor across the room than riding on the track. Needless to say, it is going back. The only good feature is that you can "pack it and go" for away from home fun.

We got this train for our 2 year old for christmas this year. She was so excited and wanted to play with it right away. I was really disappointed to find out that the train doesn't like to make the turns on the track. As soon as it hit a corner the train came off the track. I put the track on a harder, flatter surface and the same thing happened. Luckily, the train can be used without the track, and that has been a lifesaver.

we gave this to our daughter for an "early" birthday present last year and she has really loved it from the start. we put her behind it and she would push it right around the house! even though just turned 18 months, this is still her favorite toy(out of the hundreds of toys she has). She'll put her little dolls in the back of it and scoot around all over the house! thanks again for such an amazing toy Little Tykes!

This is great even for indoor play, This toy has been abused daily for 3 years by 2 kids and keeps on going!

My daughter received this as a first birthday gift as she was born in May. SHE LOVES IT! Although she never puts her doll on it she pushes it all over the patio, driveway, lawn and anywhere she can. We leave it outside in all weather and its ready for play each time. I would recommend this toy and would buy it for others. Great item to pick up when they have the free toy offers!

My son was so excited when I pulled this out of the box at age 15 months. He proceeded to "mow" the driveway for an hour. Then he decided to head for the grass.
Problem- this mower is obviously not intented for grass. It just stops dead & won't push in even the shortest of grass (the wheels are just too small & it's too low to the ground) I would put him back on the drive & he would run it to the grass & cry that it would not go across it like daddy with his mower. He did this about a zillion times.
It's now been cleaned up & made an inside only (basement) toy (to spare mommies nerves) He really loves it inside (now that he has gotten over the emotional trauma of not being able to mow real grass with it :)

My boy likes to follow me around when I cut the grass and I thought he might like a lawmnower of his own. Seems there are two easily-available options out there.

1. The Fisher Price bubble mower... which seems like a great concept, but has mediocre reviews. It costs a little less, but doesn't seem as durable. Plus they have redesigned it so that now a bottle of bubble solution screws on to it and anyone who has spent any amount of time with my boy can see that the first thing he would do with *that* is to unscrew it, fill it with dirt, and put it back on.

2. This mower. :-)

My neighbor's 5 year old has this mower in red and after 3 years or so it is still in great shape. A little faded from the sun and the cap to the "gas tank" is gone but it still has lots of years on it. We bought a new one in blue and aside from the color, they are the same.

My boy wants to take this thing everywhere. He brings it in the house, he takes it out in the yard, he has taken it to the neighbors and the boys have had dueling lawnmower fun.

Great toy, very sturdy. It's possible to put a little dirt in the gas tank but it's not going to hurt anything, the cap is really just for show (like on the Cozy Coupe) NOT for kids just beginning to get good at walking, though - I remember last spring when my boy would try to use this, he would lean on it and fall on his face. The age range is 1 1/2 and up - I think at 1 1/2 most kids might still be leaning too much to use this toy well. For 2 and up, it's definately a winner. (My boy is 2 1/2 at the time of this review)

I bought 2 of these toys as a replacements for the Dollar Store variety that my boys ages 2 and 3 liked so much they actually drove so much they they broke them. This Mower is better built than its $5.00 counterpart I had previously. It also has a better color scheme. My boys love to push them inside the house or out. They have been a great addition to my toy collection and my boys like them a lot. I would recommend highly.

My 17 month old enjoys playing with this kitchen, mimicking Mommy. However, in the past few months she has REALLY shown an interest in kitchen playsets for 2+ that are for the child to stand at while using. She doesn't go to this kitchen as often as she used to. For her, this toy seemed to be at it's prime for about 3 months (12-15 months of age) and now she has moved on to the next level of play. It is a cute toy that introduces toddlers to kitchen "ideas", but it either needs more intrigue or a younger age to start. I think that when she was 9 months old or even just sitting up she would have had fun playing with parts of it-opening the refrigerator/microwave/or oven, hitting the stove to make the music play or turning the "water" in the sink to make the music play. She may have had more trouble with the shape sorter then, but I think toys are good to grow into. I do not recommend this as a 12-month toy. Wait a few months and buy one for 2+.

I got this toy for my daughter for her first birthday, which is actually not until next week, but I had to let her have it. I don't think she really understands that she is pretending to cook, but she loves the sounds it makes, and we all play with it together. She has such a good time making breakfast for her Mommy and Daddy! She cooked me an egg and Daddy some cheese just a little while ago. She is full of smiles! We are having a lot of fun with this toy. My only complaint is that the door on the refrigerator is a little bit too flimsy and I am afraid she is going to break it off. Hopefully this will not happen!

Hi!! I have never written a review..but... I had to on this item.... My daughter LOVES this kitchen.... She talks on the phone and puts away the food and just loves the sounds it makes!! The only negative is that she was starting to stand up and would try to use this item as a support for her to stand... DONT LET THAT HAPPEN!! She toppled over and it was not a good day after that... Other than that she just loves shaking the salt shaker and the spatula and spoon and brings me the cheese wedge!!! Make sure you get the supplement (the spatula and spoon and shaker...) it makes the kitchen!!! Cant wait to get the big girl kitchen for her next christmas...something tells me shes ready!!!

I bought this for my 2 year old. I was happy that it wasn't huge--fits right in the corner. She loved it when she first got it for Christmas. HOWEVER, My complaints are...everything is just SO small and inefficient! The "microwave" is so high that she can't even reach it with a small stool I bought for her to use just for the kitchen! The back of the little bins are open, and you can't store ANYTHING in there. So, I don't know where they came up with the lots of storage line! I just expected a little bit more of a kitchen--would have changed some of the features. OVERALL it has proven to be a fun toy, but hard to use unless you are really tall!

I bought this kitchen for my daughter on her 2nd birthday. She didn't seem very interested at first and I just figured it would take time for her to like it. I showed her how to play with it and how the sounds work but she was still very uninterested. I think she needs to be a little bit older to fully enjoy it. She plays with it as long as someone is in there playing with her. She can't reach the top shelf yet and gets upset everytime something is placed up there. To tell you the truth my 4 year old sone LOVES it. He loves to pretend to cook things and clean the dishes. This kitchen has withstood my daughter climbing all over it, my husband falling on it and my son standing on it. It is a tough toy! I love that it is so small... it doesn't take up a whole room like most other kitchens and I love that it can be moved easily. I would recommend this toy for anyone who is shopping for a 3 year old or older. I am sure my daughter will enjoy it more once she is a little bit older.

My daughter recieved this kitchen today, and she absolutely loves it! The bins on the left side really need a back on them so that things don't fall out. I would recommend putting this toy together with a ratchet equipped with a screwdriver bit adapter otherwise you will have a sore wrist because it takes a while to get the screws through the thick plastic parts. This toy is definately designed to be durable. I am sure it can withstand whatever my daughter could do to it. Overall I think it is a good investment and a very cute toy.

The fact that this company can continue to produce such a piece of utter junk is beyond comprehension, I believe they work on the premise that it's "ONLY" $20 and no one will bother to really kick up a stink about it. Vote with your wallets people - do NOT buy this glorified toy. Your $20 is better spent on something that works as it should.

Another Little Tikes toy that is not really Little Tikes. Beware parents it is actually Kids Station- they use the Little Tikes name due to a liscensing agreement. Little Tikes will not offer you any assistance. I am disappointed that they would put their name on a product that they do not stand behind. This was a definite learning experience for me.

DESPITE ALL OF THE BAD REVIEWS I ORDERED THESE PHONES FOR MY 5 AND 2 YEAR OLD FOR CHRISTMAS AND YES THEY DO HAVE SHORTCOMINGS BUT NONE OF THESE SEEM TO BOTHER THE KIDS. THE HANDSETS ARE SMALL BUT THEY MANAGE AND THE RECEPTION IS FINE THEY TALK TO EACHOTHER FROM THIER SEPERATE ROOMS ALL THE TIME.
