Same LEGO's, New HairUplink is one of several micro battle machines from the new Exo-Force line. While this set has that Japanese anime look and decent gimmicks like the laser cannon and missiles, its weakest "link" is in its durability. If you want to beat this thing in a fight, aim for the arms; they sag down so much, that this reviewer had to buy another LEGO set to fix them. The legs, with joints that look like the gears of a pocketwatch, are rigid and may frustrate your little tyke. But they last and allow for a vast array of poses. While stickers are included for Uplink, its most animeish feature is the mini-figure. While it's pretty standard, different faces are painted on both sides of the head, which is topped with a set of day-glow hair. So Uplink is a nifty toy that should keep your kid busy for a while. But remember-there's more fun in numbers.
Ryo RocksUplink is one of the best exo force sets because he doesen't have a wire that that gets in his way.He stays together pretty well to.

A great Lego set! This set is great! I got it as a birthday present from my best friend. It includes sir Rascus on his horse and two shadow knights on their battle wagon. On the wagon is a catapult that launches "hot rocks". It is fun to play with and would probably be better if I had another Knights Kingdom Lego set. Anyways, I recommand this set and that's why I gave it five stars.

Nice idea, with a new type of monsterThis Bionicle Visorak series stands among the best ideas Lego has ever pursued. It's clever, inventive, and just plain fun!
I haven't kept up with the Bionicle story over the years. I always just liked the action figures. The Bohrok were very cool, as were the Rahkshi. I began to lose interest in Bionicle when the Vahki came on the scene, but I still collected a few of them. As far as I can tell, the dynamic of Bionicle stories is usually the same. The heroic, robotic Toa versus a horde of monsters. That's pretty much what's going on here.
The Visorak are cute four-legged monsters with large pincers. There are nine of them here, and they are fighting against the six elemental Toa (humanoid robots). It should be noted that the Toa figures are not posable like other Lego minifigs. They're more like mini figurines. Each guy stands in his own heroic pose, and each guy carries his own unique silver weapon. There are spears, halberds, and battering rams. I'll forgive the lack of posability here because the rest of this set is so cool.
There are six different Visoraks (they have different styles of pincers). This set comes with nine of them (did I get an extra one by mistake? Other sets come with eight). Three of the cute little monsters are duplicates. They're made of semi-flexible plastic. You can push down on a monster's back and spring him into battle to knock down the robots. Very cool. The Visorak also glow in the dark. Both the Toa and Visorak figures have some great textured detail, and the Visorak have some very nice color detail as well.
We also get a larger Visorak who I haven't seen before. He has no pincers like his smaller buddies. Just small tusks like an elephant. Like the other Visoraks, he's a four-legged monster. He's constructed from Technic Bionicle parts. Pushing down on his back raises his head to reveal a spring-loaded missile launcher with soft-tip missile (it also fires the missile). Colors are dark blue, dark gray, and he has a gold head piece. This guy isn't quite as cool as the Visorak Queen from the Battle Of Metru Nui set, but he has an appealing uniqueness.
The backdrop for our frenzied melee between monsters and robots is a tall tower with a big black mask for a front gateway. Above the entrance to the tower is a grated window that can be flipped open to reveal a spring-loaded missile launcher on a turntable. This one fires a silver soft-tipped missile. The launcher can turn left and right, raise and lower to aim, and it can also move back and forth on rails. High atop the tower is a target for our large Visorak to aim at in the hopes of knocking it over. The tower also has opening doors at ground level, and a manually operated catapult that can launch a flaming boulder. The finishing touch is some vines that our little monsters can use to scale the walls. The little Visoraks can be snapped firmly onto a vine.
Going into the construction of the tower are mostly regular Lego pieces, with just a few Technic parts used for the catapult. Colors are primarily dark gray and black. The tower also has ornamental blades in silver to spruce up the look, a Toa mask, some torches, some really nice flame pyres, and we get decorative decals for the opening doors and mask gateway. This set has a lot of tiny white horn/spikes. I found the construction here to be easy enough. Nothing too challenging. The finished model is sturdy and easily portable.
This set isn't quite as action packed as other Bionicle Visorak playsets, but it still has that Visorak charm. An added plus is that the tower can be connected to Metru Nui. I have to say, all of the sets in this series are great! This is the kind of thing I like the most. Lots of guys with cool weapons, lots of cute little monsters, and a really nice techno-stronghold with cool action features so I can stage an epic battle. My verdict: thumbs up!

Tower of ToaThis is one of the last 2005 bionicle sets. I have it, and I think it is really fun. I had fun building it, and I have fun playing with it. It comes with 2 pieces where if you press a button, another piece shoots out. It comes with a bunch of mini figures. This would be a great addition to any Bionicle fan's collection.

Love itI bought it for 8 years old boy and start to play with it instantly. He love it and shared with his friend.
Please don't overlook this wonderful line of toys for your child!I have resisted buying these because they seemed so cheap...also the usual question we parents always ask ourselves..."What are they going to do with them?"
My son received his first bionicle from a friend on his ninth birthday...it was cleverly the "bow" on a birthday present. I now regret overlooking this wonderful line of "lego's" for so long! My boys love these! They have the best time building them and an even better time playing with them.
They are priced reasonably so you can always pick-up one as a treat during trips out "shopping". If you encourage your children to "save-up" for some of their "wants", the cost of these is low enough that it doesn't take them months and months to realize their goal.
Please do not make the same mistake I made and misjudge these toys. You will be denying your child a great experience.
Although the manufacturer suggests ages 7 and up, I do not feel a child younger than 8 or 9 would be able to independently put this toy together. My 7 year old needs some help putting these together, but he loves to try all by himself. That is the point of Lego's, to construct and play. The primary benefit, in my opinion, is the satisfaction of "doing it" yourself!
A definate A+ for our boys!

Great!!!I basically agree about the other review. However,I have a few things to say.I would recommend this bionicle to anybody, any age.It is not really complicated, however,so I would not suggest this product if you are looking for a hard-to-build bionicle.Other than this,it is a fantastic product.

Versatile set with many building ideasThis is a superb LEGO set giving kids many different options for building a wide range of vehicles. The instruction book that is included with the set has 76 pages (!) of building instructions and ideas. The instruction booklet rates each of the different creations with a difficulty level from easy to intermediate to expert.
There are enough pieces that you can actually make all three of the vehicles shown on the cover at one time. My son loves playing with it daily (and so do I...)

The only drawback is that there NEVER seem to be enough pieces to build what I would like. Of course, it there might be building materials that are better suited for a complete bedroom set.
