This Fire Truck really, really, really looks like a fire truck! The front of it is probably the coolest part, if you take it off and give it to someone they'll know it belongs on a fire truck. It has two firemen, fire tools, a shiny silver helmet (Only available in this set) and it is very durable. There are lots of very useful parts on this fire truck too so if you ever decide to take it apart, you'll have lots of cool new parts.

For my birthday today I got this lego set. It was really fun to build so I liked it. I played with it for 2 strait hours. Legos are my favorite toys. Overall this was a really really fun set.

My 3 year old got a basic ello set for christmas (obviously beware of the small parts if buying for a 3 year old though) and it is the first toy she has played with by herself for months. She feels like she is doing grown-up crafts because she can make necklaces, dolls, and decorations. She absolutely loves it. She plays for hours and I am amazed at what she comes up with. Perfect toy for kids who want to do crafty stuff.

You can make some really neat houses with these sets.
It takes a lot of planning and effort to make complicated structures that will actually stand firm, so if your child is under 8 or so you'll have to help (its a good Idea to play with your child anyway!)

My daughter and I dont like the little ello figures, theyre too fragile to play with (no fun!). I recomend that you get some other little figures like my little pony or hamtaro minatures to "live" in your ello houses.

I've bought hundreds of products from Amazon and this is my first review. Why am I writing it??? Because I hope Mattel will see how much girls like Ello and will make many more sets.
My daughter is a naive 8 1/2 and cannot stop saying how much she loves it. It's the first toy I've EVER given her that she has played with independently. Oh wiat -- she played with her cash register, too. She's mostly blind in one eye and her fine motor skills are not the best, so other small toys have been difficult for her. She got the knack of Ello quickly and is so very excited to be building things. We tried Lego Clickits but they didn't engage her highly developed sense of fantasy. After less than an hour with Fairytopia she had a queen fairy, a multi-room "castle" and magic wands for different purposes. I was grinning from ear to ear.
Her 7 year old, Bionicle-crazed brother came into her room to check out the action and had soon created a light saber, ant and dive bombing airplane!

This is a great toy and I do hope Mattel gets the message and adds additional sets regularly. Girls need and deserve this kind of entertainment!

I bought this for my son's 5th birthday (who is very mechanically-minded) and am very diappointed that the pieces do not stay together. He can hardly move it or play with it without several of the pieces falling off. It seems too complex for 4+ which is what is says on the box (my husband had to put the whole thing together for him), especially given that the pieces do not stay together well - it ends up being frustrating instead of motivating. On the other hand, my 3-year-old daughter likes playing with the 2 mini-people and animals separately. Overall, we are very disppointed especially for the money...I don't think we'll get much long-term enjoyment out of this one. I liked the concept but after this experience I'm hesitant to try any of the other Gears! products.

These blocks arrive to you in easy-to-asseble (flat) format. It take some time to put these all together, but once you do, there are YEARS of construction fun to be had by you and your child (or classroom). I have had these in my 2-year-old preschool classroom for nearly 3 years now.

They are colorful and STURDY. They have held up to rough play by a group of tough kids. Although not intended to be stepped on, they have held up to many such occasions. If storage is an issue for you, keep in mind that these are LARGE blocks.

Another key point is that these are easy to clean. Being in a public preschool, these blocks are cleaned with a bleach solution on a daily basis, and have retained a good appearance. Giant-sized fun for 2 to 6-year-olds!

When I first saw these online, I thought they were great, but then I saw that they were made of cardboard AND I would have to put them together. My first thought was...how sturdy can these be? I went ahead and ordered them and my children absolutely LOVE them. And, believe it or not, they have held up beautifully. I've had them for two years now. They've been stepped on SEVERAL times, thrown MANY times and stacked and knocked down constantly, but they are still in great condition. They are definitely worth the time and money!!!

My son loves these blocks. They are durable, easy to clean, and they do hold weight. My son is 30 pounds and they do not collapse when he stands on them.

I see in other reviews people seemed to have a problem that it required some assembly. I don't seem to mind taking the time with my son to put them together. It took us 30 min for 40 blocks. I figure the older he gets more of his toys will require the time for assembly anyways.

They do lean a little but we can usually get 7-8 high. That is more than what we could stack with the peek-a-blocks we found. All in all I think it is a great product.
