As an adult enthusiast of building blocks, I've got to admit I approach Megabloks sets with trepidation. Over the last year or so, however, I have noticed a marked increase in the quality of most their bricks. Here, the standard blocks are as good as any other brand. Where the set falls down is in the non-standard blocks, such as those in the police car, which still don't fit quite right and are a throw back to the Megabloks of old. Still, on the whole this is a good set that should provide lots of fun.

My 8 year old son loves Legos. He recently purchased this with his own money and was very disappointed to find out that it does not flip onto 2 wheels without using a ramp. The picture on the back of the box shows 2 steps: "rev motor forward 4x to activate" then it shows the truck on two wheels in step 2. What you don't really see on the box is the almost translucent yellow ramp between steps 1 and 2. The ramp is kind of mixed in with the lines which are supposed to make the car look like it is in motion. So it was very easy to miss the ramp. If you are considering purchasing this because the idea of it going onto two wheels sounds interesting, be aware that a ramp (not included in box) is necessary to acheive this. Otherwise, it is a normal Lego car with a friction motor.

I have bought two of these toys for my son, an only child and pretty gentle on toys. It has been kept in his bedroom away from his playgroup. He has not even played with it regularly. Yet BOTH times these toys BROKE WITHIN MONTHS OF PURCHASE!!!

Yes, it is fascinating. And like other reviewers, I've also had some fun with it myself. But I am disgusted that it broke down so easily--twice. There must be a reason that Amazon doesn't offer new ones for sale; please think hard about buying a new one elsewhere. Unless you don't mind looking at the $30 you'll pay as a month or two of entertainment, look to other gear toys that don't depend upon this lousy motor.

For the price of this toy I expected the kind of service you get with other good quality toys. Not this one. I have tried to get help from Tomy and their website doesn't even acknowledge this toy as part of their line of toys. I tried e-mailing the company about a loud dying motor. No response after 3 tries.

Bought this toy several years ago for my son.

He is interested in anything that moves. This toy allows him to move the gears around and change the direction of the gears.

The parts are large and durable, and yes I have played with the toy when he is asleep.

My Son and Daughter love playing with Rokenbok. We made sure we got an extra controller so both could play simultaneously.

When you order a Rokenbok vehicle, you might need to order a control pad too. You can plug up to 4 of these into the command deck, but each controller can switch between controlling 8 different Rokenbok vehicles.
However, if you're buying one of these to replace a broken one, wait! These have a lifetime warrenty, so contact Rokenbok and they'll fix you right up!

I went to a science workshop with my child's second grade class. They were studying balls and ramps. This toy was there for them to explore (among many hand made experiments). The children were drawn to it and then made their own versions. Very education and extremely fun! I bought it for all my nieces and nephews afterward! Everyone loves it.
