Leggo Harry Potter Rescue from MerpeopleMy son absolutely loved this toy. Unfortunatly, some of the pieces are very small and easily fall off the toy. After a short time period, too many pieces were missing. Because of this, my son hardly plays with the toy anymore.
Lego is the best! This is a fun activity to do with kids. The instructions are very clear and it was easy for my 6 year old son to put it together. Along with the other lego sets and an active imagination, we have tons of fun.

Emergency! This neat little doctor set. It comes with an emergency bed and a... thing. I don't know what it is. It attaches to the bed. The vehicle itself is nice and big, It's six studs wide from the front. This is the wideness of many of Lego trucks and medium sized vehicles released today. There is another set, Prisoner Transport, that is much like it only it is a jail on wheels instead of a hospital on wheels, only the Transport is $2 more. This set will go great with your Lego hospital or city scene.
A great kit with a great price! If you're looking for a great kit with a great price, this fits the bill just right! The set includes 118 pieces in mainly white, red, and trans blue, an emergency medical treatment worker (emt), and some acessories (medical case, stretcher, pulse computer). The ambulance looks very realistic, and holds together when speeding it down the floors of my house. Besides being great fun, the kit, like all lego kits, helps to improve hand eye cordination, as putting the pieces together require steady hands. Overall, I really enjoyed this kit, and recomend it to any kid who loves legos.

Mega Bloks' most generic castle yetIf you've ever built a Mega Bloks castle before, there's pretty much no reason to buy this one. It's assembled entirely from parts recycled from old sets, and includes no details or accessories that make it particularly unique. Three levels of cramped, generic rooms rest atop a tiny, cramped dungeon that is nearly impossible to play in (once a figure goes in, you may never be able to get it out again). The one semi-unique aspect of this set is the long bridge leading to the castle, the entranceway of which is decorated with recycled pieces from the old Battlegate set.
This is not a bad set to look at, but it just isn't too much fun. One could just as easily build this (or something like it) on their own with leftovers from other sets, and that's pretty much how this one was designed.
One note I will make is that construction was tricky on this set. Certain boards didn't snap in easily at all, and a few of the supports had difficulty locking into place as well.
I like the dragon, wizard, and horses from this set, but they're also recycled from previous sets (and many equally, if not more interesting, pieces can be found in the sister Krystal Ambush set). I will add that the Draigar soldiers in this set were highly disappointing. They were carelessly painted with a dull brown/gold paint job that doesn't match the bright and shiny finish of the Draigar soldiers from other sets. The ones that are supposed to have skin tones showing are also entirely brownish gold. These troops suffered from a very careless paint job.
All in all, there's almost no reason to buy this set. Any other Mega Bloks Dragon castle would probably prove more interesting and rewarding, and most would be easier to build and would contain more original, better done soldiers as well.

Uses oldies, but still a goodie....Okay, okay...this set offers nothing new. Any Mega Bloks fan with a keen eye can see this by just looking at the packaging. Sometimes repaints are cool, and sometimes they ain't. This time, I'd say they're fairly cool.
The Iron Raiders subset focuses on a band of pilaging bad guys who terrorize the Dragons world. All sets are dedicated to them in this short, hard to find toy line. There are two small tins (with large war machines like catapults), a small troop builder set with a dragon and a small backdrop structure, a large troop builder set with a bunch o' guys, dragons and horses, and of course this set...the Raiders' own home!
As stated before, there's nothing new about this set. All pieces were previously used (just recolored), even the figures. The Raiders themselves are composed of all the different types of characters...from Draigar to Vorgan...just painted black, with copper trim and highlights. Each character has two weapons instead of the usual one weapon, one shield. Apparently, the are quite warlike, or a bunch of berserkers. The dragons are also just repaints.
The castle itself is small. It is no Draigar castle. It consists of one large multi-tier tower, and one small "tower" with a large crossbow atop it. Both sit on a small plateau of land. Beneath this appears to be a large dungeon. The dungeon is cleverly formed by utilizing black ladder pieces which go across the whole bottom of the tower sections. The next layer up is the base where the large and small tower are affixed. The small tower is one tier only, like I said before...with a weapon on it. The main tower has three sections. Not much going on behind the scenes here. The middle layer has your classic trap door...that's it. The tippy top houses a light-up Krystal. At the verrry bottom are several plates used to create a barren landscape. Normally I'd complain 'cause there is nothing really on these pieces, but I like how it creates the illusion that this dark tower is just sitting in some desert or something. To get into the castle, there is a neat little set of stairs leading to a bridge. They reuse the gate pieces to form a decorative portal to pass through. Beneath the bridge is a blank space. Considering the extra land plates that surround the set, this seems odd, but it makes it seem there is some bottomless chasm beneath it. Perhaps you can utilize pieces from other sets to create a moat, a spike pit, or a bed of snakes and spiders!
Aside from the five or six Raiders and their leader, sveral Draigar guys come with the set. Also included is a catapult. Two dragons come with the set as well...one Vorgan style war beast, and a nice red Dragon also borrowed from Krystal Wars.
Overall, nice set...especially at 50% off!!! It does utilize all old pieces, but if you like repaints, or don't have all the sets, or are just a casual collecter, you may like the set.

A Solid Dragon SetThe main reason why I purchased this set was because of the red dragon. There are very few red dragons released in the Dragons building toy lines and it's bright color drew me in. I had no idea that the toy was encased in a metal tin, which is a terrific convenience for storage.
Many of the other pieces are repaints from previous Dragons collections, but I had never been able to purchase them in time because Mega Bloks only has one production run of any set. The arches and staircase really make this piece stand out viewing from the front, but the back is really forgetable. The catapult as a siege weapon and the bonus winged beast (at the moment I cannot remember what they are called) were nice touches.
Over all I would say that it would be a fabulous starter set for anyone getting into Dragons.

Great for the imaginationMy son will sit for hours and play with any of the legos toys. They only compare to his K'nex. He loves to build entire hotels and describes the rooms for me as he does so. He also has been known to make maps using the flat square piece that you can buy seperately to build up on. It is definitally worth while to go for both. He is very creative with them and the tubs they come in make for easy pick up and storage. :)

My Son Loves ItMy 6 yr old son loves Bionicles and now enjoys the Piraka line. He loves the glowing eyes and having "battles" with the others. Sometimes I need to help him, but overall, he can build 95% of it himself and he is proud of his accomplishment.
so evil its funzaktan(the snake] is the cunning leader of the evil gang Piraka. Zaktan and all the other Piraka are going to be the cornerstone for the new generaton of lego toys. First of its the first lego set with teeth[that glow to] as well as the first bionicle with a rubber mask and spine. the construction of this model was easy and fun as well as quite ingenous[ the zamor sphere luncher mechanics] Many people had mixed opinions about the new rubber mask/spine and i would like to clear it all up. First i find the rubber mask to be much cooler looking and it doesn't always fall of after a while of play like the old ones it also contours to the face real good so it looks real the spine unlike what other people said is very good and adds a never before seen look to bionicle. it is really no fuss to appy unless you are younger and locks in snugly as for the problem with the spine and posing the figure yes it makes the head a little bit harder to pose because the rubber make the head fall back to its original postion though it ain't that bad with the arms. the model over all though was easily assembled and the instructions were very understandable [even an inexpirenced model builder can pick it up right away. another cool thing to note is that the mask ontop of the box is completely different then the mask in side. the mask on top is plastic and is on most of the piraka in accurate to the way the head looks[ zaktan has a much longer chin] The zamor shere luncher i fun to builder and when you fire it for your first time you wouldn't believe how far the the little green ball travels. some other cool unneeded accessories are the zamor sphere expansion pack which comes 10 more different colored spheres. hope this revieve covered everything seeya
A striking contrastWhen the Toa and all the first Bionicles came out, it was very simple and straigthforward. Bad guys were different from the Toa and everyone knew they were bad. Now, with the Pirahka, we have villians claiming to be Toa! And the matoran believe them!
One of the things I really love about Zaktan is his weapon. It looks really cool and can change. Also, the little ball launcher (I forget what it's called) is a lot of fun (I shot my brother with it X3) and the glowing eyes are just plain awesome! Though the rubber part is sligthy annoying, it doesn't really get in the way.

EXCELLENT TOYI bought this for my 1.5 year and it's WONDERFUL. We actually have the big box. I also purchased it for my friends 1 year old and I hope he loves it. My children play with these blocks and they are so big and easy for them to clean up, as well as they cannot be swallowed.
Inexpensive, quality entertainmentMy son really enjoys playing with his legos. They are easy for his little hands to put together, and the product is quite durable. I think toys like this, that don't have lights or require batteries, are the best kind because they let your child use his imagination. Recommended.
Surprisingly good for a one-year oldI thought this might be a little much for a one-year old (the set is rated "1+"), but my son took to them immediately. The sizes, shapes, and colors are ideal, and the set (20 blocks) is just the right quantity...I can't imagine dealing with the 75-piece set. Within a week of receiving them, he got into dumping them and pulling apart any blocks I would build up. At 15 months, he has started occasionally putting them together, sorting them by color and shape, etc. This is an excellent toy to grow with the child.
My only caveat is the lid (block base) for the container. It's not as high-quality as everything else, and ours developed a crack within a couple of weeks. Otherwise, this is one of the best toys ever in terms of interest and overall play time for my child.

SHARP EDGESI bought these blocks for my 1 and 3 year old daughters and the colors on the blocks are nice but boy are the edges on the blocks quite sharp! I often wonder what the creators of the set was thinking because it is obvious they were not thinking about the safety of a child.
Not that greatMy daughter loves to build things. But, she isn't as interested in these blocks as I thought she would be. They're not as enticing as I had hoped. Plus, they are A LOT smaller than they appear. So, be careful because if you have smaller children.
Great gift for kids of all ages This is a great gift if you have kids like mine and get bored with flassy, loud toys. I bought it for my 4 year old, but the 7 year and 18 month old ended up fighting to play with it also. They spent hours making dozens of different buildings. The sharp edges haven't seemed to bother my kids, just tell them not to throw them.

50-Piece Wooden Alphabet Block Set

We passed on theseAfter looking at these Imaginarium blocks up close, we passed on these and bought the (albeit more expensive) blocks from Uncle Goose. The type face is Courier, and the odd letter distribution makes constructing words hard. The colors were very nice, but these also had a lightweight feel to them. The Uncle Goose blocks, however, are made of hardwood, have a classic design, animal pictures and names, and chew proof paint! We've been very pleased, and notice that friends who've bought these Imaginarium blocks always ask us about our Uncle Goose blocks.
Not as good for wordsAlphabet blocks are a wonderful thing. But these aren't as good as either the MYKIDS set or the Melissa&Doug set, for one reason: those have different letters on opposite sides of a block, so the A block is also an N block. These have the same letter on three sides of one block, so with a set of 50 there are a lot of letters that appear on only one block. When a child wants to spell a word, odds are you won't be able to do it with this set. GIGGLE? Nope, only one G. BIG? Yes, but not without taking apart DOG. DIENCEPHALON? Ok, I'm being silly. But you get the idea.
Good basic ABC blocksMy 1 1/2 year old loves these blocks. She builds, learns her letters, learns what things start with those letters. The letters on the blocks I have DO coordinate with the pictures on the block (ex. Y block has a yo-yo and ball of yarn). Great set for the price. No complaints so far.

Great toy for the priceI got these blocks for my 9 1/2 mo. old baby when he was around seven months old. He likes the blocks that make a soft rattling noise as well as the ones he can put his fingers through. His favorite thing has been the lime green base! He likes to chew on it and wave it around. He does not play with the blocks for very long but he picks them up every now and then. I thought that the clear plastic would get easily scratched but he has played with them on hardwood floor as well as carpeting and they still look brand new. Even though at 9 1/2 mos. he has not played with them much I don't mind because they cost around $8 for the set and they're attractive and well made. I'm hoping when he gets a little older he'll want to use them for building.
