Baseplate is good, but...
The extra pieces in the picture are not included with the baseplate. I guess I didn't read all the print, and I assumed the other pieces (shown in the photo) came with. The photo of the grey baseplate does not show additional pieces so it is clear to a buyer that only a baseplate is for sale. It was not clear for the green baseplate. The baseplate is a great piece, but the price is a bit high with nothing else to go with it.

It's good, but...
This is a good accessory to go along with your child's duplos. However...

1. After I ordered it off Amazon I realized you can get it for LESS on Lego's website or at a Lego store, if you have one... and no shipping that way, either. I feel like a dolt. I don't know why I didn't think to look - I tried Toys R Us, Target, and WalMart for Duplos, and found nothing good. So I ordered some stuff on line and just ASSUMED Amazon's prices were good, becuase they usually are.

2. Consider a LEGO baseplate instead of LEGO DUPLO. You can use Duplo blocks on a Lego base but not Lego blocks on a Duplo base. Legos and Duplos can go together but their coupling is dependant upon the Duplos' pegs being hollow. The pegs on the Duplo base are solid so you can't use Legos on it. (One problem, though, Duplos don't cling QUITE as tightly to the Lego base... but they do work.)

You should maybe also know that this is kind of a bendy peice of plastic, not hard and solid and thick like the smaller Duplo bases that come with some sets (the ones that are 5X5 or so) It works fine, but I was surprised to learn this, I was expecting it to be more solid.

Great item, great fun, but don't buy it here!!!

Fantastic DUPLO Fun!!!!
It is so frustrating for my 4-year-old son to build with his Duplo blocks because it is hard to build a house from scratch on the floor....now that he has these green base plates (I bought 2 of them so he and his sister could build at the same time), he can build all he likes and doesn't fuss anymore about it being hard to keep his house together. A MUST HAVE for anyone with Duplo blocks!!!

Good buy for Star Trek fans
No, it's not Lego, but it's still a pretty good building model. It took me a few hours to put the ship together and it's a very stable design. I really like the display stand that came with it also. The Captain Picard minifig is pretty dumb looking, Mega Blok minifigs have really short legs, but all in all it was well worth the sale price I paid. If you're a Star Trek fan this would be a good buy.

A great Star Trek toy
I received this for Christmas and I have to admit--it's a lot of fun. It will take you about four to five hours to put together (I put it together in stages). The pieces fit well and the instructions are, for the most part, fairly straight forward. I was shocked that it took 50 pages of instructions, but you'll understand why once you get into building the ship. It assembles in stages which is nice and you can take breaks as needed. My only real complaint is the instructions for assembling the saucer section are a bit confusing and hard to make out at times...but you can persevere. A great toy and a must have for any Star Trek fan!

Impressed overall
I found this for $15 at my local TRU. I had my eye on it since it came out and the price was right. Traditionally I'm more of a fan of building block toys from the other company, but I have to admit, this kit impressed me. The fit was tight, and the quality was decent. It took a good 4 or 5 hours to build which was fun. About my only complaint was the instructions, which were kind of hard to read some times. If you can find it marked down, the price is right!

Fun but the connectors are odd
My four year old really enjoys playing with this. There are five stand alone plastic sheds that you assemble (two sides and a roof) and then place over the track in the same manner that a tunnel goes over the track. There are five buffers that snap onto the back of the track and then each track connects to the turntable. The turntable has a crank that is easy for a child to turn. It also has a Y track that would connect into an existing set. This doesn't come with any trains or additional track.

I am only giving this four stars because the turntable is configured for four "standard" track connectors and six "diamond shape" track connectors. My son has a lot of the Tomy track and none of it has this "diamond shape" connector. If you try really hard you can jam a standard shape connector into a diamond connector, but I don't understand why all of the connectors on the turntable wouldn't be the standard shape. The track that is included for the sheds has three diamond and two standard connectors so you can connect all the sheds. But the remaining five connectors are three diamond and two standard.

Note, this is not compatible with the wooden track. You need to use the blue Tomy plastic track with this turntable.

In summary, my son really likes this, and it is a lot of fun for the money so I recommend it. I just wish that all of the connections were standard.

        The Drifter
It's one cool set! I got it off of lego.com and it was worth every penny! But I find that it may be more fun to Bionicle fans like me, than anyone else. If you are a bionicle fan, Visit www.maskoflife.co.nr when you have a chance!

Ahoy there - them's be shark infested waters y'know!
I've so far put away this toy except for the shark, as I don't feel my four year old son is ready for all the small pieces perhaps till his 5th birthday. The shark is excellent and floats beautifully in the bath, unlike the usual plastic fish and sharks that we have. The boat looks good, although I'm not sure I want to see all those small pieces going in the bath. The oars are very unsteady, so I'm thinking the little boat would go well in the bath by itself, and leave the rest of the pieces for table top play. Very cute pirate, and I'm sure the seagull has some words to say to him!

        nice addition
My son (5) loves the row boat and the fishing gear. It all goes nicely with the other island sets playmobil offers. The fact that it can all go in the bathtub is nice...the pirate ship is just too big and we own the smaller less expensiv one.

        Awesome pirate fun!
Great as a stand-alone pirate toy, or as an addition to the other items in the Playmobil Pirates collection.

The boat and the shark both float perfectly in the tub; the shark with both his dorsal and tail fins sticking above the waterline. If you place the oars first in the oar locks, and then in the pirate's hands, it helps hold those pieces together for tub time fun. My 3.5 year old son loves it, and unlike some of the bigger Playmobil sets, there's not too many tiny pieces to keep track of. The whole set includes: seagull w/nest, lantern, boat light, bottle, flask, 3 fish, bucket, barrel, fishing pole, boat, oars, small island w/tree, shark, and pirate.

The magnetic fishing pole is a big hit, but is a bit flimsy. This is our third Playmobil purchase, and I'm really impressed with their products. While it's true that there are many tiny pieces (more so on the bigger sets), I think that's part of the fun. If you lose a gold coin here, a plastic lobster there, they really won't be missed amongst all the other stuff.

          Hakann The Bully
Hakann an interesting piraka but, Zaktan is cooler that him. Hakann is my third favorite piraka. He has like a lava launcher and a claw. His zamor sphere launcher. And his light up eyes. The battery for the eyes is NOT replaceable. Overall I give him a 9.8.

          the bully
just like reidak he is AWSOME the launcher COOL the tool is AWSOME the spine is....eh but oh well BUY HIM

          piraka=awesome.....
okay. These new bionicle piraka are really, really, ugly, and just weird, but still one of the best bionicles I ever had. It is very fun to play with, and the zamors go crazy far. The face, "tail", and shoulders are one rubbery piece, which can get annoying if you want to set it in cool poses. The eyes light up, really bright at first, but soon fade a little, and has an unreplaceable battery.

Overall, I think it is worth the money, and a great toy.

            GREAT improvement/set
I remeber when the Slave One came out in about 2000. It was utterly disappointing, it was way too small. Lego has an outstanding new revision here.

The new Slave 1 has a very sleek design and is very cool! It has alot of cool features;like a hidden missile in the stomach, Two rockets in the sides, bombs in the rear, and loads of opening sockets and such. Very cool, even if it isn't all that true to the movie version. This ship is also surprisingly strong, you can hold it without breaking it and swoosh it without breaking it. There are huge gaps where the wings are, but they aren't greatly visible, unlike the Clone Turbo Tank.

You would expect Boba and Han in carbonite but Lego once again outdo themselves. Included are both Dengar and IG-88(bounty hunters) and a bespin guard! More than I asked for. Some things I didn't like are the smilies; Dengar is a ruthless bounty hunter...with a warm smile. The Bespin Guard looks more ready to invite you to a dinner than fight you. IG-88 suffers from that all too common battle-droid problem, holding your gun to the side. Battle droids aren't gangsters...

Overall a great set with a few minor problems. Don't be afraid of the price tag, it's definately worth it.

            Hidden Features
This Star Wars Lego (Lego #6209) is yet another excellent kit in this series of Legos. This particular kit is loaded with interesting features, and has enough pieces (537) to require a couple of hours of building time.

This set has four people; Boba Fett, robot IG-88, Dengar, and a Bespin Guard. Han Solo in carbonite is also included, along with a special storage location in Slave 1.

This set has numerous compartments. The cockpit swivels along with the outriggers, on either side, similar to Boba Fett's ship in the movies. There are small levers on either side of the ship. One lever attaches to the storage area that secures Han Solo's carbonite block. The other lever launches a spring-loaded missile that you can access through the top of the kit. Yet another swiveling piece on the back end of the ship drops two bombs.

There are two small compartments (one on either side of the ship) just above the small levers that could hold a blaster. Along the spine of the ship are the covers for the missile, two doors that swing up to allow weapons to swing out, and two smaller doors that swing open to allow storage racks to swing out. Also on either side of the ship's spine is a pair of swiveling guns.

This set contains a lot of pieces that are lightly supported, and thus this particular kit is poorly built for rough handling. As I maneuvered the ship the front portion under the cockpit came loose, and I had to carefully reattach it. Most Legos kits require the pieces to be firmly pressed together and this one even more so.

This kit is a must have for a collector of Star Wars Legos, or anyone looking for an interesting Lego kit. My only (rare) complaint is that this kit may be purchased in other places for less than the price that was shown on Amazon at the time I wrote this review. Assuming this kit is still in production when you look to buy, you may want to see whether you can find a less expensive place to buy it from. Enjoy!

            Lego fixes its old problems
This toy was very surprising indeed. Before the prequels, they made the trilogy sets, but not as well. Then after they make all the prequel sets, they went back to fix the original problems of the first sets. I was a major consumer of the old lego SW sets. I have a number of them, from the MelLenium (Sorry, forgot how its spelled)Falcon, all the way to the old Slave 1. I liked the old Slave one at first, but i soon relized it was not a very detailed set. When they remade the Jango Version, i was still abit disapointed with its durabilty and detail. But when this one came out, being the HUGE Boba Fett fan that i am, i had to go out and buy it. After spending a high $50 price tag, i went home to construct it. I tell you....i wasnt disapointed. This one was alot more detailed then the previous two. It was well worth the money and it is proudly on my big red collecting shelf. This Set is definantly a five star set.
