This was a good figure. I like it very much. If I were to wish about action figures, I would wish all action figures were just like this one. If I bought an action figure I would also like it as the same price as this one. Overall it is a good priced figure with good design that I think is very good.

    Old Crimefighters never die...
And they don't even fade away---Come taste the Lobster's Claw!

Lobster Johnson. Crime-fighter among crime-fighters in the gilded days of America's Golden Age: a Holy Terror in fighter goggles and leather, bringing justice---and the sting of the Claw---to mobsters and gangbusters everywhere!

Mark it up to Lobster Johnson that three of New York's most notorious crime kingpins were found dead, the sign of the lobster's claw burned into their foreheads, back in the 1930's.

Let me repeat that, for the unwary and the wicked: *burned* into their foreheads.

    Evil-doers beware! Fear the Claw!

It was a patriotic age, so when the German legions overran Poland and France, Lobster Johnson did what any able-modied, hot-blooded American crime-buster would do: he joined up. He looked up at the boilerplate poster of Uncle Sam, finger pointing right at his aviator cap and shiny-orange goggles, did the right thing, shook his fist in the air in righteous crime-fighter rage at Hitler, and signed on the dotted line.

So the Uncle Sam took Lobster Johnson in, kitted him up, and shipped him off with a crack platoon of GIs destined for a super-secret mission deep inside Nazi territory: Hunte Castle, a redoubt of Hitler's ultra-secret super-science laboratories, stuffed to its Bavarian hunting-lodge gills with the usual rogue's gallery of nasty monocoled SS villains and nuclear scientists.

It was the nuclear scientists that particularly worried FDR back in Washington. Anyway, the super-secret mission went posthaste, and in 1939, in a remote, mountainous corner of Austria, the top of Hunte Castle exploded. No more super-duper Nazi nuclear laboratory, or whatever it was that the Krauts were brewing beneath the mountain.

So super-secret it was, in fact, that the US government has a) maintained no such mission ever took place and that b) Lobster Johnson was a fictional character. No basis in real life whatsoever. A bad pulp fiction crime-fighter, given time on the silver screen in a series of wickedly bad serials. Absolute fiction---and why are you still talking about this Lobster Johnson guy, anyway, citizen? What are you, a *Commie*?

Suffice it to say, Hitler never got the A-Bomb.

Though Hellboy---big, red, likes cigars and pancakes, a demon from Hell but don't worry, he's on Our Side---gets a little calling card with the sigil of the Lobster Claw and an arch, peeved little question: Fiction? Like, you know, 60 years later.

    Here is the Claw!

How cool is it that we live in an Age where Mezco Toys can roll out a Lobster Johnson figure? The figure is 7" of pure Mike Mignola art: the features a pasty white, the goggles and claw insignia a shiny orange, the aviator suit perfect right down to the buttons. Lobster Johnson has a .45 ready to rip on those nasty Germans, and in his left hand---the Claw awaits, burning bright, like a tiger in the Night.

It should be noted: this series of Hellboy figures is based on the original Mignola artwork, and Mezco has outdone itself: Mignola's work, a delicious chiaroscuro of light and dark, is so tastily tactile that it begs to be held, fondled, played with. Lobster Johnson is a great figure: fun to hold, fun to attack Nazi evil-doers with, fun just to look at.

And if you get bored, Mezco has thoughtfully crafted a Wehrmacht super-science floating brain, just to give Lobster Johnson a hard time.

    Take that, you Nazi scum!

It's not sold by toys r us...
...check the seller. Not everything in this section is sold by Toys R Us. This looks like it's sold by someone else.

Can't believe they sell this at Toys R Us
I was actually surfing the Toys R Us site and put in Loving Family to see what was available for my daughters dollhouse when all of a sudden up pops this "toy". I was shocked. What I cannot understand is why this is on the site for little kids to see and why Toys R Us has this item where kids can see it. I can understand it is an adult show blah blah blah but the kids do not need to be subjected to this filth. This item should be in an adult store to purchase not a childs store where they can easily view this item. These kids don't need to be subjected to this.

Not for kids...well, DUUUUH! That's why it's ONLY AVAILABLE ONLINE!!!
And for all those people who obviously forgot to remove certain intrusive devices during THEIR last BDSM romp, keep that in mind when dogging this product. Last I recall, kids can't order stuff online, and wouldn't be able to get their mitts on this set anyhow (unless the PARENTS are irresponsible, of course), so what's the moaning about??? I am an adult, and I bought this set a while back. It proudly sits on the ledge shelf in my kitchen as a daily reminder of Seth McFarlane's genius, and because I am one of those "sick" or "jaded" people who appreciate things of this nature. Hands-down, awesome toy/collectible! As with most things, it's the people who make a big deal out of issues like this that are the ones to worry about, not the idea itself. So RELAX, and enjoy the ride. Who knows, ya' might learn something and have a great time along the way!

        Fun action figure

My son has all the Rescue Heroes in the Beam Team collection. This one is fun with the large saw that lights up. He can really use his imagination when playing with this toy. Lots of fun for many hours!

            Hours of fun
We purchased this toy for my 3 year old for Christmas. He has always liked puzzles and Legos and we thought this would be a great alternative. Not only does he spend hours with this building set he and his 5 year old brother take turns building and rebuilding the Ranch. This is a great toy and worth the selling price.

            Great Product
Great Product for our son, he is building with it all the time.

            Still Great Play, Partner
As a child, Lincoln Logs were one of my favorite toys. You could build houses, forts, roads, fences, and just about anything else you could imagine for a piece of wood. Lincoln Logs have changed over the years, but they remain a wonderful toy to stimulate imagination.

This particular set is one of the larger sets available with 150 pieces. I think that if you are going to get Lincoln Logs, the more you have the better. I always wanted ever more Lincoln Logs to build even bigger forts, which was one of my favorite themes. The western and frontier themes seem to be somewhat old-fashioned for many children who would rather be punching video game buttons for hours than imagining what it would be like to create houses by hand, and then living in them.

This particular set includes pieces that are improvements over the original. Plastic windows, people, animals, a ladder and other miscellaneous people increase the imagination factor rather than detract from it. I initially was disappointed that the wood-slat roof pieces were missing from this set, but quickly realized that the plastic roofs remained in place as opposed to the wood slats that seemed to fall off the roof with little encouragement. On the other hand, you could use the roof slats in other arrangements, such as bridges and roads.

While I think it is interesting to build the models included in the original instructions, Lincoln Logs are sufficiently versatile and easy to use that even very young children begin stacking them with ease in their own configurations. This capability is a real imagination builder. I prefer Lincoln Logs for their greater reliance on imagination than most other building blocks and toys, which tend to emphasize a specific configuration.

John Lloyd Wright, the son of Frank Lloyd Wright, first created Lincoln Logs in 1916. Strangely, he claimed that the construction of the foundation of Tokyo's Imperial Hotel was his inspiration for the toy rather than log cabins. The toys were an instant success because they developed good hand-eye coordination and for the other reasons noted above. The toys became an even bigger success after World War II and the baby boom era.

Lincoln Logs are one of the few toys that seemed to have survived for decades. There have been many challengers to Lincoln Logs, and they are probably much less popular with children today because of the many more sophisticated choices. However, Lincoln Logs remain a great toy, especially for younger children. Even older children, like those in there 40s and 50s, can find a lot of enjoyment in a toy that was much more popular in a previous era, and still retains most of the characteristics that were the reason for that popularity.

good quality compared to other shrek action figures
This shrek doll is good quality, and a nice size. My son has fun with it and has no complaints, we also bought the other acion figures that go with this set, and the rest have proved to be pretty chintzy, either very breakable and annoying to constantly put back together, or kind of small in size for the price.

                Fun toy for the money...
Our 3 and 4-year-old boys love this Shrek toy. The swamp-gas noise (a fart noise he makes out of his rear when you squeeze his tummy) gets tons of laughs, and the swamp flower that he comes with absolutely reeks (pretty much manure scented), which they think is just the greatest. Big hit at Show-and-Tell day at school!

(Incidentally, we also bought the "Shrek 2 Action Packed Figure: Mule Kickin' Donkey" and have to agree with the other reviewers that his head pretty much falls to pieces with the slightest touch. NOT such a big hit with the kids. Keep in mind if you're considering buying it along with this.)

                Punchin' Shrek @ Figure
While not educational exactly, this toy makes up for it by being cute and fun!

Classic Monsters Series 2 Figure: Frankenstein
                  Amazon base price: $
                  Average review score:

                  DRAB BLACK & WHITE VERSION
This is the Black & white version of the same Frankenstein Figure by Jakks Toys no doubt put out due to the success of Sideshow Toys Black & white Silver Screen series of classic monster figures. Unfortunately Jakks simply doesn't measure up in quality.

Jakks pacific (somehow) got the rights to put out three figures based on Universals Classic horror figures: Dracula, the Wolfman, and Frankenstein. Jakks has always been weak when if comes to figure detail athough they have improved somewhat since the days of their earliest wrestling figures. In general, the Universal monsters they did are fairly weak, lacking detail and only bearing slight resemblance to the actors who portrayed them.

Of the three, the Frankenstein figure, taken from A scene in Bride of Frankenstein, is probably the best. Bound in chains after being captured by a mob of angry villagers, the monster would soon break his chains and escape. I think the figure looks a little too "good" to be the figure from Bride who was burned and charred from surviving the fire in the windmill at the end of Frankenstein. Sitting and bound by the chains the figure looks pretty good and the base, chair, and chain detail are all pretty good. But Boris suffers really amateurish articulation at the knees and elbows and looks like one of those 4" GI Joe figures.

It's not a bad figure. Decent enough for display but nowhere near the quality of the Sideshow Universal Monster figures.

The black & white version of Karloff's Frankenstein Monster
Of the three Classic Monsters Figures that Jakks Pacific has put out in conjunction with this year's blockbuster monster romp "Van Helsing," the Frankenstein figure is the best of the original Universal Monsters (the other two are Dracula and the Wolf Man). Of course to be correct this is the Frankenstein monster immortalized by Boris Karloff since Frankenstein would be the mad scientist played by Colin Clive in the original movie. This Series 2 figure presents the creature in his original black & white, although if you prefer your Universal Monsters colorized you can go back and check out the original Classic Monsters Series figures.

This scene actually comes from "Bride of Frankenstein," usually considered to be the best of the Universal Frankenstein movies. After the monster is captured he is put in chains in the dungeon of the local jail. The stone seat with the wooden back is one of the most famous sets in monster movie history. You can also show the creature breaking free from his chains. The figure is articulated at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees, and ankles so there are lots of possibilities, although keeping the figure upright can be a concern.

I consider the Frankenstein Monster and the rest of these figures to be educational because they will certainly inspire a new generation of viewers to go check out at least the original film and its famous sequel as well as maybe even Mary Shelley's classic novel. Even at the start of the 21st-century everyone should know their movie monster heritage along with its literary antecedents and this Classic Monster Figure can certainly help the young folk along in that regard. For the main course you can check out the "Frankenstein: The Legacy Collection on DVD," which has not only the original "Frankenstein" but also "Bride of Frankenstein," "Son of Frankenstein, "Ghost of Frankenstein," and "House of Frankenstein."

                  Frankenstien's prison
I love this toy. It is carved very vell and is a great scene from the universal asylum.
I leave it as a sculpture, but you can remove the figure and the chains for an equally good affect.
