This might be the most ironic McFarlane MLB figure of all-time
McFarlane's MLB Series 13 is made up of Extended Edition Figures because the idea was to include baseball players who switched teams for the 2005 season. Thus we have the third figure of Randy Johnson, now as a New York Yankee, second figures of Pedro Martinez as a New York Met and Larry Walker as a St. Louis Cardinal (that last one got out right before Walker played what may well be his final game since his retirement this winter is anticipated). Then there is the first figure of Moises Alou, who played this past season for the San Francisco Giants. However, the seasons before that Alou played for the Chicago Cubs and I find it ironic that the figure is shown catching the ball on the warning track at Wrigley Field in front of the ivy covered left field wall.

Virtually all of the baseball figures that McFarlane has released to date have been free-standing figures. If they are wearing the team's white home jersey then you know which baseball park they are playing out, but with the grey road jerseys such things are open to interpretation. But there is no doubt with this one and you have to think that they were planning on having Alou as a Cub for either Series 11 or 12 released earlier this year when the trade changed the figure's uniform but not the backdrop. Then again, maybe the people at McFarlane Toys just have a wicked sense of humor and maybe we can look forward to seeing Derek Jeter dive into the stands at Yankee Stadium or Manny Ramierez in front of the Green Monster.

Notice that Alou is using both hands to catch the ball, thereby showing appropriate technique and adding to the educational value of this toy. You can also tell he plays hard because whoever paints the dirt on these figures has gone to town with Alou. It is nice to see that Alou has finally received a figure because I always think of him as having suffered one of the most bizarre injuries in baseball history near the end of the 1993 season. In a game at St. Louis after hitting a ball into the outfield Alou rounded first base and then turned to retreat back to the back. His spikes caught in the AstroTurf and he suffered a dislocated left ankle and compound fracture of the leg. The injury ended his season and threatened his career, but now we are a dozen years down the road and Alou is playing for his father Felipe in San Francisco, where the elder Alou and his brothers Matty and Jesus all played for the Giants (sometimes in the outfield at the same time, which meant sitting down Willie Mays to accomplish). Moises Alou has a career batting average of .301, has 297 career home runs, and has driven in 100 or more runs in five seasons and was brought to the Bay Area to bat behind Barry Bonds, who, ironically, was injured almost the entire season.

McFarlane has already announced its figures for the 2006 pre-season, with MLB Series 14 consisting of Mark Mulder of the Cardinals, Bobby Abreu of the Philadelphia Phillies, Aramis Ramirez of the Cubs, Jeff Kent finally getting his first figure as a Los Angeles Dodger, Jason Veritek of the Boston Red Sox getting his second, and American League MVP Alex Rodriguez getting his fourth figure and second in two years as a New York Yankee. But the biggest news could well be the Cooperstown Series 3 which has Mickey Mantle and Don Mattingly of the Yankees, Roberto Clemente of the Pittsburgh Pirates, a second figure of Nolan Ryan as a California Angel, Carlton Fisk (either a Red Sox or a White Sox, maybe both, they have not yet said), and Jackie Robinson. So far I have only been collecting the retired Yankees, but Jackie's #42 has been retired by everybody so I am planning on picking that one up as well. These figures are all due for a February release, so plan ahead baseball fans.

      false purchase
I am not too happy with the purchase of the product I bought. I kept it only for the fact that it was part of the collection of mine that I did in fact need. My intintions were to purchase the other figure that which a picture showed completely diffrent to what I actually received. This makes me very weary of buying anymore products from this site again.

      Great for Display
The dragon itself I wanted for display and I really loved it. But I had thought this was the series 2 box set and it wasn't. It's still a good buy.

      Great looking Dragon
I have been waiting for a good set of dragon scultpures my whole life. This series really brings dragons to life for me again.

I'm typing this for my 8 year old son:

I had a Toys R Us card with $20 on it and I bought one for my brother and me. I think this toy is cool because it can flip out and out again and makes really fun sounds. It also comes with three codes...

123 - transforms you into any Ranger
          124 - calls your motorcycle
125 - turns you into a Ranger Robot

And I just think this toy is really awesome!

          AWESOME... Must Buy!!
My 4 yr old has been obsessed with power rangers for a while now and when they brought this phone out we had to get it... it is really cool he spends all day playing with it and saying power ranger power up or spd emergency... i read some bad reviews on the phone being really low and you can barely understand... yes it is low but my child nor his two friends one 3 and one 6 even turn it on they don't want to they just pretend with it and say they are morphers this is a must buy for any power ranger fan... they will love it!!

              AAAHHHHH!
My 5 year old son recieved this as a Christmas present. First of all the pieces kept falling apart. It must not have been tested on 5 year olds (even though it states it covers that age) because there is reading involved. Furthermore, the instruction on how to the play the game are next to impossible to understand even for someone that has a Master's Degree, such as myself. The game doesn't have high appeal to my son because of how slow it is and all that is involved...putting the characters into "poses" to show what you want them to do...not much fun!!!

Good fun for a dad and his son
I bought a starter and a few other figures for my son for Christmas with the intent of the two of us sitting down and playing together. The rules are easy to learn for an adult and easy to explain to a child. My seven-year-old and I have played quite a few games and have since purchased the other starter set and a few more other figures.

The figures are smallish and feel like they would break easily, but we have not had one break yet. If you like table top gaming and you like Marvel comics characters, this is a really good game. I can't see myself playing this game with another adult, but it serves as a great introduction to gaming for my son and is more than good enough to hold my interest.

                Carlito deserve better
I'm totally dissapointed with this action figure. It doesnt resemble in any way Carlito. His hair is one of the things that make him extra special...so to the makers of this action figure: "that's NOT cool!!!"

                thats not cool
just one question where is his hair is that what amazon does to there fig god help jakks if they saw this. (word of edvice dont break the figs what they done to you amazon.)

                  a nice figure
The WWE has come out with their latest line of 14 inch figures. This figure is of Kane (aka Glen Jacobs). The figure has the current Kane (as opposed to the original Kane with a mask). The figure accurately captures Kane's likeness. For WWE fans or Kane fans, this is a great toy or figurine.

                  They travel single file....
So finally a good sandperson toy. I agree its the best to come out since the original but you would think that for the VOTC price tag you would get more articulation....yes it has some but the arms are not that great. Dont get me wrong....BUY THIS TOY but I am just giving you my first impressions. I bought two so I am very happy. What makes this really cool is the cloth cloak. Its what makes this the best Raider in the bunch, that and he doesnt look like a body builder like all the rest.
