The other romantic couple in the SW galaxy.
There are few things in the Galactic Heroes figure line up that irritate me. Mace Windu looking like a baby is one, Yoda looking like a combination of Emmanuel Lewis and Gizmo is another, and Darth Maulester being available only in a dumb play set a few years back and now being out of print is a big one. But the biggest irk I have is one that's been going on not just in this line of figures, but in tons of Star Wars merchandise. "What is it?", you're probably asking yourself. It's what I'm reviewing as a whole: Chewbacca and C-3PO being paired up for exactly the 9,931,652nd time. 10 years ago, the vinyl collectable figures (that no one bought) had Chewbacca with C-3PO in his backpack. The Micro Machines play sets had Chewie with 3PO in his backpack. I'm pretty sure one of the Power of the Force play sets had Chewie carrying 3PO. And there was even a god damn drinking glass that had these two in the same pose etched on it. So when I was walking through the toy aisle a few weeks back and discovered the Galactic Heroes figures, my excitement for them was almost halted by this set right here. But you know what? I gave in and bought them for one reason.

The image I scanned and have posted on this page, and the Chewbacca figure.

When I actually picked up the case and looked at Chewbacca, I laughed continuously for 3 minutes. He's so perverted, it's not even funny. His eyes, focused on his next victim. His mouth, the smile that of a sexual predator. His pelvis, thrust forward. His left hand, making a holding gesture, but no accessory to put in it. His feet, not sexual at all, but still massive. Yes, this is the be-all of Chewbacca figures. I don't care if they somehow create a shrinking device to make the actual Chewie suit into an action figure size- this will still be better than it. Even funnier is that this is the only Chewbacca figure that doesn't come with a Bowcaster as a weapon. Nope, Chewie's stuck with your standard issue Blaster Rifle. Poor guy. Chewie is also the heaviest figure of this series, which is a lot to say considering the Palpatine figure is even heavier than the huge Darth Vader one. Chewie's got 'em all beat. Oh, and then there's 3PO, who does absolutely nothing. You can't pose him. He has no articulation to speak of. He feels cheaply made and flimsy (think back to the first Power of the Force 3PO and that's exactly what it feels like). And I'm sure the gold paint will wear off after a few months. But I still like it for some reason. Maybe it's because he looks happy. I don't know, but this is the only 3PO figure I've ever liked. Plus I have to give him some credit for not being disassembled and on Chewie's back for once. Oh, as a side note, it's weird that Chewie has his name printed on his foot, and 3PO doesn't. I checked my other Galactic Heroes figures, and only Darth Vader has this as well. Maybe it's just something they forgot about while making the figures. Who knows.

Believe me, if you're a Star Wars fan at all, you need this set.

Galatic Heroes c-3p0 and Chewbacca
Well I never really have gotten into the galatic heroes but i wanted my 2 favorite charecters, Chewwy and C-3P0. Chewbacca only has 4 points of articulation and c-3P0 has none. but they look gret with your other Star Wars figures in your collection.

The Wookiee wins
The Chewbacca that comes with this set is worth the price of admission alone. Lookit that grin! Everyone's favorite fuzzball has never been more adorable. Not to mention that he's just plain huge for a GH figure, and with four points of articulation to boot! His two-pack partner, Threepio, offers fewer action possibilities, but makes up for it by being shiny and gold, which to a four-year-old equates to "must-have." He feels hollow and brittle, so keep him away from tiled floors unless you want to reenact what happened to him on Bespin. Other than that, these two will be beloved by any Star Wars lovin' tot (or grownup).

good addition to rescue hero collection
My son just turned four, and this is his favorite toy from his birthday. He loves rescue heros, and I think the smaller version is easier for him the play with (given his little hands). I wish the sub didn't have a big hole in the side (supposed to be crashed) and then they could use their own imagination for scenarios using the sub, but it doesn't seem to stop him. FYI, it goes in real water just fine, because he always wants it in the pool or tub.

great toy
my 5yr old got this for x'mas and it is great he has the bigger verison comand center to but it is to big and takes up space and he never plays with it. he also got the micro moblie comand center for x'mas and he plays with both none stop. my daughter who is 18m also plays with it. great for imaganation for both kids. it would be nice if it made noise and talked like the bigger verison comand center.

Great toy!!!
My 3 year old son just got this toy for his birthday and loves it. He has been playing with it non stop. I love that the big piece that the sub hooks on to doesn't come apart to a bunch of different pieces like a lot of adventure toys. The space station one is great as well. He plays with them together.

Most powerful characters in the game by Mooseman
This expansion pack is filled with the strongest characters in heroscape so far. Charros has 9 lifes, flight, and a counter attack special ability. If your looking for characters so you can have an 500pt army with many characters then this expansion pack is not for you, but if you want a small 500pt army with alot of power packed into one guy then this is for you

    They travel single file....
So finally a good sandperson toy. I agree its the best to come out since the original but you would think that for the VOTC price tag you would get more articulation....yes it has some but the arms are not that great. Dont get me wrong....BUY THIS TOY but I am just giving you my first impressions. I bought two so I am very happy. What makes this really cool is the cloth cloak. Its what makes this the best Raider in the bunch, that and he doesnt look like a body builder like all the rest.

Peg warmer of Star Wars VOTC
This figure still sits on the shelf - even after VOTC was discontinued. It was a boring and uninterresting figure. Hasbro should have continued to focus on the Stormtrooper and would have made collectors very happy.

    GREAT TOY!
Lando Calrissian is such a great addition to my trilogy collection. He looks exactly like he did in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. I like to play with it, along with the Bespin Guards and Darth Vader. If you don't have any 3.75 figures buy this it is a good first or try a vintage figure. Lando can move his arms and legs and really has a good moving ability. This is a great toy and is one of my favorites. ME AND MY BROTHER AND SISTER LIKE IT ALOT. It is very durable and is an enjoyment. IT LOOKS AS IF IT IS HAND PAINTED AND MADE WELL IT DOES NOT LOOK CHEAP AND IF YOU HATE LANDO STILL GET THE FIGURE BECAUSE YOU SURE WILL ENJOY IT, IT IS AWESOME AND YOU CAN BUY IT AT TOYS R US! It is a perfect size. Of course before you buy it look at the great figure it is amazing. Try to imagine a real cool figure with a little price! Buy it, you must! Lando Calrissian lost the Millenium Falcon and that is why he is kind of funny. I found this at toys r us the other day and bought the Millenium Falcon vehicle. I watched Episode 5 after I got the figure and noticed just a little mistakes in detail. Remember that this figure has about everything good about it, well he is a little muscular. I think anybody shoud have it! I bought this figure a month ago when I was still 14 and liked it alot. I am about to end my Jedi review here on Yavin 4 so be sure to defeat the empire above Yavin 4 maybe with a little help from Lando? Buy this figure now! Lando Calrissian is great to add to your galaxy wide collection!

    From Jedi Padawan Ben

You've gotta lot of guts coming here, after what you pulled!
Lando Calrissian is one of my least favorite star wars characters but I had decided after seeing the first wave of Vintage Original Trilogy (VOTC) figures to collect all of them.

Without question this figure is the best VOTC figure from the first two series, A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back! The accuracy of this figure is outstanding and the articulation is positively amazing. Lando's figure bests the VOTC Han Solo, second best in the first two series IMO, by having more articulation in the torso so he is on par with the "super poseable" clone trooper from last year. In the entire VOTC, Lando's figure is surpassed only by Boba Fett and the Stormtrooper, both of which have incredible articulation.

Some reviewers have questioned the value of these VOTC figures compared to "basic" figures. They are easily worth twice the price of the basic figures. Not only do you get vintage style packaging, you also get incredible new figures that feature better accuracy and articulation. If you want the best of the best from this series get Boba Fett, The Stormtrooper, Chewbacca, Lando, and Han Solo.

If you are a star wars collector the entire 12 VOTC figures are must haves!

Hellboy Comic Book Action Figure Hellboy

A "Hell" of a fun figure
Standing 7 1/2" in height, having excellent detail (even H.B.'s cross on a bead chain) and 12 points of articulation, this is a wonderful figure to have on any shelf for people to view. Goes great with my Abe Sapien movie figure. My only two complaints are that it comes with H.B.'s good luck horseshoe, but the only place to store it is in the gun holster on his belt and the gun's grip doesn't fit very good in the figure's left hand. It stays in place, but looks clumsy. Here's an important note when ordering. Don't expect to get the figure shown above in the photo. I really wanted that one, but was sent the H.B. with mouth open. Not a complaint, because it is still good, but Toys 'R' Us should have sent an e-mail saying the former figure was out of stock or something instead of just sending a substitute without warning. If you love Hellboy and Mike Mignola's artwork, definitely get this figure for your collection.

      The Big Red One!
Call him the Dude from the Land Down Under.

Vomited up from the steaming bowels of Hell itself as the side-effect of a super-secret Nazi effort to unleash the Infernal upon a trembling world!

Adopted by a crack squad of US troopers sent to put down the nasty Nazis with extreme prejudice, who all thought he was a might cute little Devil!

Ultimately taken in by the brilliant, crafty Professor Bruttenholm for a *really* odd-job: globe-trotting detective and devilish muscle for the Bureau of Paranormal Research & Defense (BPRD, for those who get into the whole acronym thing), the fine men and women who preserve us from Ghosties and Ghoulies and Long-Legged Beasties.

      Hellboy!

Man, talk about a resume. When the rattling and baying from the crypt deep beneath the shuttered and locked wing of the ancestral family manor won't stop, Hellboy is definitely your go-to-guy---erm, go-to-Demon?---for the job.

And Mezco's latest sculpt of the Cigar-Chompin' big guy is definitely one to do him some justice. This sculpt---straight from Mike Mignola's pencil & inkstand---looks like Hellboy is carved out of igneous rock, still stuttering with volcanic flame: his searing yellow eyes burn from beneat a hulking brow and those filed-down horns.

His hulking, ape-like frame is pocked and scarred from battles with the minions of darkness; his Right Red Hand of Doom dwarfs the left (and practically the rest of his body), the Samaritan---a cross-slung Big Iron on Hellboy's hip for easy action---is lovingly detailed, as is Hellboy's utility belt, which bristles and brims with lucky charms and crucifixes and enough high-tech goodies to make even the most fully accessorized Port Authority cop green with envy.

Oh, and Hellboy's wearing his trunks, and his little devil boots, thoughtfully split to fit his cloven hoofs.

In happy contrast to the sleek movie-version sculpt Mezco did a while back---which was a fine figure, have no doubt---this guy looks like a real Devil, from his (filed-down) horns to his (cloven-hoofed) boots to the (that's gonna leave a mark!) Red Right Hand of Doom.

      Hellishly outstanding.

      JSG

Hellboy - A helluva lot of FUN!!
In today's changing action figure scene, action figures based on comic artists' artwork have become the norm. It's not often, however, an artist's comic character jumps off the comic page and becomes an action figure as well as the Hellboy comic figure from Mezco Toyz.

Mike Mignola, the creator, writer, and artist of Hellboy, has created an award-winning comic masterpiece and Mezco Toyz has done Mignola's creations justice in creating the first of what is hopefully a long line of action figures based on the characters from the critic-acclaimed series.

Standing 7" tall, this big red demon from hell comes in not one, not two, but THREE different head variants: a "calm" version, a "teeth" version (w/ one row of teeth visible), and an "angry" face (w/ mouth wide open and both upper and lower teeth fully visible). The sculpting on not only the head but the entire body includes minute nicks, scratches, and scars from Hellboy's many battles. However, with his Right Hand of Doom (that huge "whammer hammer" stony fist) and his signature side arm, "The Samaritian;" Hellboy is ready to rock and take on any supernatural evils that come his way!

Though maybe not the most education of toys, this is one helluva lot of fun and, since it's made of a durable ABS plastic, it's sure to last a long time too! (I'd buy two though...just in case! :D :D)

Look for other figures in this series as well, including Liz Sherman, Lobster Johnson, and an evil Mechanical Ape!!
