Action Figure Reviews

First of all, I am NOT a transformer enthusiast, so 90% of you can disregard this entry from the outset. :) I am a Scion enthusiast who received this as a gift.
This was a great toy and an amazing display piece, but I've heard that this toy is abnormally difficult to transform, and having played with the thing, I can certainly believe it. Instructions for transformation are included, but I would have preferred a video explanation, or perhaps a short seminar at the park district, because even with picture diagrams it took me 25 minutes to get it from the car to the robot. And I still think I screwed up the arms. And forget transforming it BACK, because the directions only show it being transformed into the robot. Personally, I just left it that way, because I have neither the time nor the expertise to figure this thing out.
Transformer enthusiasts and Scion enthusiasts alike will adore the incredibly detailed styling, and the car form makes a superb model in and of itself, but since I'm pretty sure I could take a chainsaw to my REAL xB and make it into a robot in less time made this a less-than-spectacular toy.
Still, it's worth getting. :)

Alternators Skids is uses a Scion Xb to update his old Honda vehicle mode. In some ways it looks like a 2006 version of the classic van/hybrid. Using this unique car for Skids is an intelligent choice for the Autobot theoretician.
While some G1 purists complain about the flames on the doors and decals on the windshield, I really like them. Scions are all about customization, and It would make sense for a robot in disguise to decorate himself to blend in. The metallic blue color of the Scion is reminiscent of the old G1 Skids.
Transformation wise, Skids is complex, but not frustrating. Just be sure to keep those instructions handy, because there are some parts of the process are challenging, like getting those doors around the shoulders, and the torso.
Skids boasts some of the best articulation of the Alternators line. He's the first alternator since Sideswipe/Sunstreaker to sport bicep swivels, and his mid thigh and knee joints are car kibble free allowing you to get him in some dynamic poses.
My only gripe with Skids is that the black panels that snap into the shoulders don't stay together too well and a gun that looks kind of gimpy. But those are minor quibbles. Alt Skids is a great figure to have in your Transformers collection. Pick this one up with Alternators Prowl and Sunstreaker today!

The figure was sent back for a replacement because the legs did not fit into the body, it was defective. The same problem with the replacement and it was returned as well.

I just got this figure in the mail and I have to say that it is really nice looking. I have it up on my mantle now and it looks a=even better out of it's packaging. It is a must have for Kings, Gretzky, and NHL fans. Id rate the pose a 10 out of 10, it was from when he got the points record in Edmonton. This figure would get 5 stars if it wasn't for the assembly. You have to put Wayne's legs on and normally the leg assembly is easy but thios was just horrific. It is possible, but I had to use tons of soap and water just to get the legs in, and then it wasn't easy. But I think that it is definately worth it.

This trooper is an awesome addition to your collection! The paint job is better than any other clone, with scratch and scuff marks everywhere, just like in the movie.

The sculpt is awesome, but has one problem. The belt is upside down, but that is a virtually unnoticable.

As for accesories, this figure is a winner and a loser. I love the DC-15 Blaster Carbine the figure includes, but he needs a rifle too! He has an anntenea backpack which adds to the play value. Also included is a personalized display base and a randoomly packed hologram figure. Mine was a stormtrooper, but your trooper might include a different mini hologram!

The box is really cool too, it depicts the troopers in a battle on the sinkhole planet of Utapau.

Articulation? GREAT! Since he's the same sculpt as the 41 trooper, he has all the articulation he needs for numerous poses.

Get one if you find one!

This Utapau Clone Trooper is so cool!! He is another repaint of clone trooper #41, but this time even cooler. Once I get a Commander Cody, I can have the Battle of Utapau.

This extreamely durable soldier of the 212th. Star Core under the command of Commander Cody(unit:20045) and General Obi-Wan Kenobi, probably saw action in the Utapau theater. If not, it was with 212 Division A, core 22, on Felucia's North Province.

This is a gorgeous warplane...
Its so much nicer than the 21st Century's #29 Kepford Corsair release a few years back.
The BBI release has movable flaps,rudder, has a gun sight.. better detailed cockpit, detailed exhaust pipes, superior piant job. and more realistic pilot.
If you love the Corsair.. BUY THIS TOY/MODEL ! ! ! ! !

As a prebuilt/snap-together model, the "weathered" Corsair stands well against any kit model. Hands down, the best one out there.

This is very good figure as he has great sculpting and a incredible likeness as its pretty movie accurate. I recommend Marvel Movie/Marvel Legends/Spider-Man figures for age 10 and up due to the fragileness nature of the figures. Bottom line this is a must have figure if you are a big Fantastic Four fan! I strongly recommend this figure!

I had a hard time deciding on which Thing figure to buy from the Fantastic Four movie since Series 1 and 2 came out at almost the same time and they both feature a Thing action figure. I compared the two the best I could without opening them and decided on "Clobber `N Crush" or "Clobberin' Time" Thing. Not because it's better than the other one, but because it seemed to have more of what I was looking for--I went for poseability and articulation rather than sound effects. Both figures do a very good job of looking like the Thing from the movie. The head sculpts and the Thing's rocky, orange exterior is a little different on both figures, but both are nice and I really like each one. However, Clobber `N Crush Thing is more articulated than the Thing from Series 1. Both arms and both legs can move up and down as well as in and out. The Series 1 Thing doesn't have this articulation on all limbs. Both arms have action features, too. The right arm can be pulled down and then let go so the Thing can deliver an upper cut-type punch. The left arm is operated by a button on his back. When you press the button, his left arm comes hammering down. His left hand is a fist and his right hand is slightly open. Personally, two fists would have been more of the Thing's style, but one is good, too. The button isn't too obvious, but it sticks out a little. The joints are all nice and tight and are placed very well on the figure--even his wrists. Despite his weight, the figure stands up very well. His ankles joints are done well so they can support the figure effectively. The only gripe I have is that this figure doesn't have the little "4" symbol on the side button of his boots like the Series 1 figure has. That would have been a nice detail to keep on the figure. But, that's not worth a bad rating in my mind. This figure also comes with a collapsible sports car accessory. You can have the Thing hit a button on the front of the car and it will look as if he crushed it. It's supposed to represent Johnny Storm's sports car in the movie after Thing crushes it into a ball. You can do with it as you choose, but you really don't need it to enjoy what the figure has to offer. So, if you're looking for a Thing action figure that is poseable, durable, and lots of fun-pick this one up. You'll be glad you did.
