Having previously bought the NX-01 and NCC-1701A models by Art Asylum, my expectations were high. Overall I am pleased. The basic shape and details on the toy are well done and correct to the ship as seen in the features. This is especially nice when compred to the two previously released Playmates versions of the same ship, which were horribly inaccurate. So in the areas of sculpting and modeling, this version is superb.

The one area that I was disappointed in was in the paint-job. Some of the colors used seem far too 'contrast-y' compared to the way the model and CGI version appear on screen. When compared with footage from the films, the gray patches on the secondary hull of the toy seem really dark, whereas the film shots show a much more subtle grade of shading overall.

I was also slightly disappointed that the blue areas of the Nacelles did not light up, and that the alternate hull bottom without the mounting hole( included with the previous Art Asylum ships ) has apparently been dropped for future releases.

Still, overall I would recommend this toy for those like me who don't care to build models much anymore.

Of all the miniature Star Trek Starship replicas I've seen, Furuta, Micro-Machines, even going back to the old "gaming" minatures of the 90's, THESE are the best. The details are amazing...for example every single window of the Enterprise D is there and in the proper place. And the accuracy to the actual filming models is fantastic down to the red stroke around the name of the ship on the saucer section of the Voyager.

This kit is a true work of art. While there are a few minor glitches in detail (such as the hangar bay doors being a bit large), overall the kit builds up into an amazing display piece.

I have built 2 of these Polar Lights Enterprise kits so far, both lighted and movie detailed bow to stern, and I would gladly do another. The Scale is suberb and the accuracy is second to none. It's definately not a beginner kit, but take your time, it will turn out. Awesome model!

I built this model in April. it's the best model Enterprise.
don't use model glue, because this is a big ship i recommend
useing a hot glue gun. it's more better than the bad amt models.
it's a morror of the filming model. i painted the model just like the filming model. people will think you have the real u.s.s. enterprise. i think i do have the real enterprise.
you must get this 3 foot! enterprise if you a star trek fan or model builder. i hope polar lights make all the enterprises this big!

No, it's not Lego, but it's still a pretty good building model. It took me a few hours to put the ship together and it's a very stable design. I really like the display stand that came with it also. The Captain Picard minifig is pretty dumb looking, Mega Blok minifigs have really short legs, but all in all it was well worth the sale price I paid. If you're a Star Trek fan this would be a good buy.

I received this for Christmas and I have to admit--it's a lot of fun. It will take you about four to five hours to put together (I put it together in stages). The pieces fit well and the instructions are, for the most part, fairly straight forward. I was shocked that it took 50 pages of instructions, but you'll understand why once you get into building the ship. It assembles in stages which is nice and you can take breaks as needed. My only real complaint is the instructions for assembling the saucer section are a bit confusing and hard to make out at times...but you can persevere. A great toy and a must have for any Star Trek fan!

I found this for $15 at my local TRU. I had my eye on it since it came out and the price was right. Traditionally I'm more of a fan of building block toys from the other company, but I have to admit, this kit impressed me. The fit was tight, and the quality was decent. It took a good 4 or 5 hours to build which was fun. About my only complaint was the instructions, which were kind of hard to read some times. If you can find it marked down, the price is right!
