Nice for display, not much for playing withI purchased this little fellow in Prague after being given the Dragon for Christmas. It's a remarkably detailed piece, with an amazing level of historical accuracy in the armor and armaments of the 14th/15th century. It's made of highly durable plastic, and overall it's rugged enough to withstand the rigors of entertaining youngsters. I bought several other members of the Schleich Knights series for my two nephews, aged 4 and 6, so there is minimal concern that the detachable parts could be dangerous for young children. The pieces come in two opposing camps: the Red Fleur de Lis, and the Blue Lion, and each piece has a corresponding piece in the other, with somewhat different design and graphics. This reflects an impressive variety in styles of armament and armor of the period, and vastly improves the educational value of the series.

Nice for display, not much for playing withThis was my first Schleich World of Knights figure, given to me Christmas of this year. It's a highly detailed classic dragon, with no moving or detachable parts (the wings are an integral part of the figure). As such, it's safe for very young children, and you don't have to worry about someone's eye getting put out. As to its historical accuracy and educational value, I really cannot say, never having seen Dragons in the wild, but the level of detail is wonderful, and it should encourage children to obtain the more "practical" members of the balance of Scheich World of Knights collection, which are excellent, as well.

Teeny toyIt's a good looking model, but If I had seen the image I would never had bought it. It is basically a matchbox car in a big plastic bubble. Disappointed with this purchase.

A little good, a little badI just got mine this week, and I have to agree with the other reviews on several points. The sword *is* bent (how'd they manage that on all of them?) and there *were* all kinds of frayed threads hanging out. Also, one hand is clearly clenched so that it can grip the sword, but too tightly for you to actually squeeze the sword in. On the other hand, yeah, the fabric colors are totally different from the ones in the picture--which is a good thing, because they're a lot more like the ones on the movie character and not all crazy shades of orange. I also think that the paint on the back of the coat and the boots is intentional--"weather stains"--which is kinda neat. The sword looks right, and actually fits in the sheath as well; the outfit seems to have been made pretty cheaply, but it looks right. The real problem with the figure is the face, I think--I have three of the female LOTR dolls, and while the likenesses aren't always perfect, they're at least somewhat aesthetically pleasing. The Aragorn figure is growing on me, but--the face is *rough*, y'all. I can't believe the same company even made them.
Great Action Figure!I received this as a birthday gift and it's great! I can't see why people are complaining about it. This is a great 12" action figure and while the face doesn't look exactly like Viggo Mortensen, it still has a close likeness. The outfit isn't colored like in the picture at all, but that's good because the actual outfit on the doll looks like the one in the movie. The coat has fake mud stains and loose threads, but that is so it looks like it's been worn a lot. The sword is long and nicely detailed and it fits perfectly in the sheath and Aragorn's hand. This toy is fun, detailed and definetly worth your money. It makes a great addition to any collection.
My favorite toyThis figure is my favorite toy becase he is durable you can bend him any way you want his detail is perfect and his orngesh strap is relly blue i recommend this toy to any lord of the rings fan ecspcialy if aragorn is your favorite charecter

This game is really POPULAR right now and here's why One of my sons works with teens and this game has been the HOTTEST thing around lately. Because of that, my adult son got hooked on it and he then showed his younger brother how to play.
Since then, it has been a hit with the kids in the neighborhood, everyone from 8 years old and up (although I do think it is best geared to 10 years old and up... but this particular 8 year old is pretty smart). The game has won both educational and strategy game awards but the best thing about it is that it is truly entertaining and FUN for both chidren and adults. It is a great alternative to video games, especially on days when outdoor play is difficult or impossible due to bad weather.
Anyway, here's the basic info:
You first put together these very detailed sailing ships. A CAUTION HERE: It is possible to snap some parts if you don't proceed slowly and carefully the first couple of times but you'll get the hang of it quickly. Just be aware of that risk.
Then the fun begins as you navigate your ships through the waters, fending off attacks and trying to collect gold. Each pack includes two different ships, rules, an island card, die, etc. There are now expander and booster packs too.
For a very small amount of initial money, you can be playing this game immediately and as other kids start collecting their ships, it doesn't take long to have a pretty intense game going on. For the older kids and adults, there are competitions as well.
But don't say I didn't warn you...this game can be quite addictive!

Avast me Hearties!Grab your cutlass and prime the cannons it's family game night!
My wife bought this for me as a joke (LOL) to put in my stocking for Christmas. After opening it and reading the game instructions it sounded like fun. So my 13 yr old son and I sat down to play. It is a lot of fun. Mostly a strategy game, where he/she with the most booty wins.
This tin is a steal. You get 4 packs, which sell at the local toy store for about $4.99 each. You do the math.
If you like pirates (and who doesn't), and you want to spend time with your child away from video games (I do like them too) . . . GET THIS TIN. Half the fun is putting them together, then it's time to hoist the mainsail and off to treasure island or some cannon fire against those other scurvies!
I do not recommend this game for younger children beacuse of the small pieces and the ships are kind of fragile (Not too though).
Take it from an old salt, swab those decks, weigh your anchor, hoist your sails and make way for some fun!
Aaaaaarrrggghh!
