I love Leap Pad, but there is a catch. We've bought 3 pads (the first one broke almost immediately), and we've owned about 10 different books. Of those 10, only 3 still work. One got wet. Several were placed in toy boxes or kicked under beds. Once these books have been dropped a few times, or buried under toys, they cease to work correctly (if at all). They ARE only cardboard, after all.

The children who will get the most benefit and fun from these toys are young - say kindergarten through 3rd grade. Older kids are going to be less satisfied with the format, and will probably be happier working on an actual computer. Leap pad is particularly great for long car trips, but make sure the little game cartridges don't go missing. Also, the wire connecting the stylus to the pad can become caught when the pad is shut - and once that wire is ruined the pad is ruined too.

As I said, I think leap pad items are great. They can help a child with reading, spelling, basic math - all in a fun and stress-free venue. But these books are easily ruined by little ones. Your best bet may be to keep the leap pad books and pad out of reach of the kids when you can't be there to supervise, so that you can oversee the care and handling of the books and pad.

Leap pad is a good value, but only if you can make it last a while.

This item is really good if you own a Leappad and some of their books. It holds the Leappad itself, about 15 of the books and it even has spaces for the cartridges. The only thing I wish is if it had more space for people who have a lot of the Leappad books.

Why did I wait so long? After months of leap pad books and their cartridges floating all over my son's bedroom floor ~ finally they all have a home. This handy little storage system will hold most children's leap pad library of books and cartridges. It certainly will hold enough to keep your child happy for quite a while. This is perfect to drag along on an adventure. The price is what kept me from buying the storage container when I bought the system. Silly ~ since I have so much more invested in the system and its books. I finally took the plunge and couldn't be happier. Now when we dash off for an adventure ~ everything is ready to go. It is also great as a tool to encourage your child to put everything away when they are done playing with it.

No complaints thus far. Very nice to be able to put everything in one place. Also nice to be able to pick it up on the way out the door and not have to search for the cartridges or books.

My son loves this toy (he's [...]), it allows McQueen to do many activities inside Mack. It is thin plastic though and seems like it would break easily if it fell or was thrown. As it is, sometimes when he plays it, pieces come off easily-though they pop back on quickly. If you have infants at home, I would steer clear of this toy for that reason. If it were a little sturdier, I would have given it 5 stars.

Got most of the Pixar 1:55 cars before the movie came out and hesitated on Mack because of the $[...]price tag. Finally picked it up and my 3 year old loves it. Mack adds some really nice play value. I removed one of the car wash arms so he would close easier. Mack comes off from the trailer easy and while I didn't think he'ld hold up he's proved me wrong by holding up well. Mack actually had some decent screen time in the movie and is voiced by Pixar fave voice talent John Ratzenberger and got some really nice laughs in during the movie credits so don't leave as soon as it ends!

I love the truck and my son seems to love the play part that opens up(he slept with it last night)BUT there are no and I mean NO little cars to be bought to put in the toy that is the only real disappointment with this toy. OH and be careful this toy seems like it will break EASY. BUT overall it was worth the 14.88 at the local supercenter!!!!!!

Kids love it. ALL kids love it. This however, is the single most annoying toy we've ever been given. It won't break either! It has been jumped on, had juice spilled on it, thrown across the room... and it just won't die. Batteries seem to last forever in it as well.

It's okay to buy this for your own kid but don't get it for someone else unless they ask for it. If I hear "Play your guitar with Murray" one more time... I think I'm going to snap. The toy also has a tendancy to start fights between my son and his cousins because they all really like it.

Warning, it has no volume control either (I think that it might be less annoying if it did).

My 2 year old grandson will use his Wiggles guitar when he is watching a "Wiggles Video". He likes to play along with the music on the screen. It is a good choice for this age child.

If your child loves the Wiggles, he will love this guitar! My son loves to dance & play his guitar. Other kids loves this toy, when they visit. I'm very pleased with this purchase!

My daughter loves this game as any mention of a princess will win her over.

There is one problem with this game and that is in the High Score area. It will leave the set amount of high scores in memory even if you delete/replace those player names on the intro screen. The problem is that if you have older children playing this game and racking up big scores, you may never give the younger child the chance to see her name on the display. Since this is a goal oriented game, this may mean you will have to buy another cartridge. Leap Frog said this is also on other game cartidges they produce. It seems that they should have a way to delete high scores so that if you want to hand the game down to other children, they will have as much fun getting their name on the scoreboard.

When i bought this game and played it, it was apparent this had been a return because it was already loaded with names and scores. I took my daughters leapster to the store and opened up enough games to find one that had not already been used.

In addition, this game is far less effective in the volume of learning skills than some of the other cartidges (ie. draw & write, Nemo, Dora).

It is a shame that the one cartidge every little girl is going to want, couldn't have been better thought out and with more content.

It gets two stars because my daughter would not let me give it a one.

My 5yr old got the leapster for Christmas and loves this game. From my perspective it is a little young for her since she already knows all her shapes, letters and numbers but on the other hand she figured out how to play all the games quickly and can do them all by herself. She has several other leapster games that are more educational but she likes this one best because she doesn't need mommys help at all.

My daughter loves this game and all the little games that it has. It teaches how to write letters, which is a real help since she is left-handed.

My 4 year old recieved this for Christmas and it worked for about 5 minutes. Another reviewer complained about the screen being a half a frame off, well that can easily be adjusted with the the focus wheel. My daughter's showed the movie one time and froze. The rewind feature didn't work. Even fresh batterries couldn't bring it back to life. The packaging was thrown out with all of the Christmas debris so I can't return it. Not very durable, but it was cute when it worked.

My daughter does love this. She does not seem to mind the partial screen. Although as said in another review, you can adjust with a wheel. Not that big of a deal. Should be $10 or less.. but things we parents do for our own little princesses want to be's!!! :) Not a total regret buy, would even buy the belle one. But she is 3!!!
