Additional cars for the slot track are a nice plus.One of the cars I received with the set broke immediately and I had to send it back for repair or replacement (which cost me shipping 2 ways) but it was no fun with one car waiting for the several week turnaround, hence I ordered the second pair. It's nice to have 4 different cars. They don't all perform the same as some are more forgiving and hug the track better.

Great TractionWow! I'm in my late 30's and I used to play with these type of race tracks when I was younger....Now days, like most everything, the quality has greatly improved. The cars really hug the track. I can't believe how fast these cars go and stay on the track. Also, the colors and numbers are fun because you can relate to them with the real guys driving on TV.
I definately recommend this toy to most anyone. My daughter, who is 3 1/2 even enjoys playing. There is not many toys that a father and daughter can play together. It's tough for her to get the hang of the trigger throttle, but she eventually does. The game does get boring after a while for the older kids, but it's NASCAR racing....what do you expect

Potential fire hazard!!This toy nearly started a fire on my carpeting. My 5 yr. old and 8 yr. old did not plug the battery pack in properly. The plugs are not color-coded or sized differently to eliminate error. Be careful!!!
Not well constructedThis race set is a nightmare. The tracks do not stay together at all. Hard to race when the track keeps coming apart!
Non-standard carsLife-Like Products probably does make the best HO racing cars and track. However, be aware that this particular set does not use their standard cars. These cars are about twice the size of the standard HO cars and run on a different type of track.
Most if not all of Life-Like's racing car product line is HO and incompatible with this set.
