My daughter received this for her 3rd birthday 3 weeks ago. She literally has played with this toy everyday since. Highly recommend this toy for any little girl that loves Princesses.

We bought this doll for our daughter, because she loves Pocahontas. The doll was absolutely beautiful! It seemed like a good idea. Our nightmare started when we opened the box. It took 20 minutes to get all the parts out of the box. Immediately my daughter wanted to brush her hair, as any girl would do. That is when the the durability of the doll came into question. The hair started to get a little rough on the ends. After the first night of sleeping with her, the dolls hair was tangled. The more we untagled it, the worse it got. Her hair is now in a ponytail with several rubber bands to keep my daughter from brushing it. (This problem has never happened with her My Little Pony or Barbie toys.) She isn't interested in the color change aspect of the doll, because the color fades so quickly...This is Texas and it is hot and the color only appears when ICE CUBE COLD! She still likes Pocahontas, but rarely plays with the doll anymore. I would only recommend this doll for a Collector.

My daughter loves the doll except for one aspect - her mess of hair - and it's an awful mess. Within hours after she received it the hair started to tangle and only got worse over time - it literally looks like a nest. We also have several rubber bands in it just to keep it under a little control. So don't expect the nice, straight hair to last more than a few hours. You would think the manufacturer would know that this was a problem before it was put on the market - the scary thing is they probably did.

I have just recently purchased "Little Pocahontas" and I am thrilled! She is a beautiful doll. Her hair is jet black, and her skin coloring is just gorgeous!! I have read some really poor reviews about these color changing dolls. I just don't see what the problem is. The instructions on the back of the packing (where you untie the doll from) explains to you how to perpare the doll for color changes. All you do is get a warm cloth and keep it on the color changing patches until the design disappears. It takes just a little bit of common sense to understand and follow directions. After you do read the instructions on how to PREPARE the doll for color changes then you read the directions on how to actually go about making color changes. All in all it takes just a few minutes to read the instructions and follow them through. I find that yes ice cubes work instantly, but cold water works fine too. I also live in the South West and didn't find the color to be affected by the heat. The color changes beautifully and lasts long enough for any little girl to enjoy! Of course, part of the fun of this doll is changing her color accents over and over!! =) Her hair was easy to brush (even by a 3 yr old) and after a rough night of being tossed back and forth the doll's hair is still smooth and easy to comb. I give this doll 5 stars all the way!! I hope someone out there is like me and willing to give this doll a chance. Just be sure to READ all the instructions becasue adding this doll to your child's "Little Princess" collection is so worth it!
