The 2004 (3rd ed) is still a good primer to introduce those new to boardless games to the greatest RPG ever invented. This boxed set has everything you need to play, but less pregenerated adventures than the previous boxed sets. You will hook newcomers on this amazing world of adventure and imagination, then discover you'll soon want evern more options than this set can provide (which was WIZARDS' plan in the first place). The hardcover D&D Player's handbook gives you the complete rules, with more race, spells etc.
This set comes with16 nice painted miniatures (4 heroes and the rest monsters) better than the punch-outs of the earlier set.
The set has 4 pre-genterated character sheets to start play immediately, along with the standard 7 dice, quick start rules, a small first adventure book and "advanced" rulebook, 4 double-sided map tiles for generating dungeons and combat. Also this set has monster stat card very handy for handling combat without constant pageturning. The set lists for ages 12 and up, but a good reader of 8 (along with an adult guide) would love this set.

Ok I was a little nervous after purchasing it, thinking it would be bad. When it arrived. I forgot about my video games, and just played this over and over. This box includes 4 tiles, 16 minatures which includes 4 heros, 7 dice (Dice would be much more expensive bought anywhere else), Quick Start Rules (If you have someone who played D&D in "their time" just have them explain it), First Adventure Book, and Advanced Rule Book. I suggest purchasing this with the expanded minatures, and the Master's guide so you won't get confused along the way. I have written some adventures, and it really gets you thinking (probably a good gift for parents who have kids who love RPGs, because it is like a video game in a way. So if you get this, you won't regret it.

wtf? I can get the complete core rulebook gift set and Dragon Dice here from Amazon but I CANT GET the Basic Game?? Is this a Monopoly by Toys R US?? Why the hell can't they ship it to my "geographic location (internationally)" when they've been able to do so for the other two items I've ordered (which coincidentally ARENT shipped by friggin Toys R US)??

Bought this for my 5 year old Justice Leaguer. My son is not a rough player but we went through 4 (YES, FOUR) of them before we finally got one where the elevator didn't break in the 1st 2 weeks. Mattel needs to get their act together and design toys that have durability. VERY disappointing!

It's a good thing most of the Justice Leaguers can fly, because the elevator on our Watchtower broke in the first 20 minutes after Superman got jammed in it. While I was able to rescue the Man of Steel, the elevator string bound in the gears and broke. There's no way of repairing it without taking apart the entire center column, which is not something I was likely to try, given the number of widget, gadgets, and springs on that part. I also found the center column and elevator mechanism difficult to assemble. The directions could have had more words and fewer pictures, as well. (Do they assume that the parents are illiterate?)

I agree with the reviewer who said that Mattel needs to work on the quality of the toy.

I bought this for Christmas. It was somewhat challanging to put together properly, but after that it was quite fun for my five year old. I know when she plays with this due to the sound fx.

I got this as a gift because I love to play trivia in restraunts. Yes, the game is fun, but there is so much more than can be improved. What I do like is the wireless remotes, it makes it much easier to play and be comfortable and play with larger groups of people. But, the graphics are horrible, sometimes even hard to read. There is no where on your remote to tell what number you have chosen, so if you pushed the wrong one you dont know it and never know unless it is the right answer. Also, starting the game takes forever! The worst part of the game is after only playing 2 games, the questions start to repeat themselves! For the price of this game, this should not happen so quickly. The games says ther are 750 questions, but you will get atleast 2 or more repeats in each game which takes away from the fun. I wish they had made it better quality for the price. I will keep playing it though because I need my trivia fix, but the scene it game is not only funner, but you get more for your money!

This game is Trivia in a very fun and all-inclusive way. I bought this game for my family about a month ago. We love Trivial Pursuit and play often. I thought this would be a nice change.

We set the game up on Thanksgiving. The whole family loved it and there was an on-going trivia tournament the entire day and through the evening. It was hard to get people away from the game to eat Thanksgiving dinner!

In my opinion the best and most distinct reason this game is great is the "all-play" scenario it creates. My kids (ages 9-12) don't get bored because there is zero down time. Every player plays on every question. You are always on your toes...you play one question after another after another. This is a real "buzz-in" style game...like TV game shows. The controllers are wireless too, so it is family room friendly!

Also, I rated this game highly educational. Trivia is always mind stimulating. This game follows up the correct answer with supplementary facts! Very informational. I give this item a big THUMBS UP! We will be giving the kids game cartridges in their stockings this Christmas! If you like trivia, you got to get this game!

We played Buzztime with our family and its a great game for parents to play with their kids. The questions covered a wide range of topics and it was fun to learn something new that we didn't know. I'd recommend this for your next family night.

I didn't buy the SpongeBob Hop ball but one very similar. And like the previous reviewer I was also VERY disappointed. On the box was a picture of a girl holding a very large ball, just like the size I remember from my childhood. So I bought it and had it blown up. I just couldn't believe it when I saw how SMALL it was! It was nothing like the picture! And I bought the one marked for 4 and up to make sure I got one big enough for my 5-year old. I think it's ridiculous and UNFAIR to put a picture on the cover of a product that does not HONESTLY portray the contents.

I bought this toy for my 4 year old Daughter and I just had to LAUGH when I read a few of these reviews. First of all, I guess a few of these people cannot READ... since the description of the ball specifically indicates that it is 15". Yeah... that's not all that big, but how BIg do you really want a ball to BE that your kid is bouncing around on??? The bigger it is the more dangerous it is going to be! The whole idea is that the kid can reach the floor with their feet while they hold the handle on the ball and the bounce. This ball was made for little kids, there ARE ones out there for bigger kids. Don't complain about a product that you bought when the information about it STATED the size. Do your research first.

I love this toy my three old and 2 year old love their ball they hop all over the house by son is big, 44 lbs and 27 inches, and it just the right size for him during the winter this a great toy to get them to burn their engery

Excellent! My 2 yrs. old grandson is loving it. I purchased a storage case for his Melissa & Doug puzzles, and it helps keep them organized and neat. Much appreciated by Mom & Dad!

I used this with someone who has dementia. The car theme kept them interested and you can adjust the amount of assistance or the way you use it. For instance: if the adult is very far along in their illness, simply have them remove the pegged pieces and then put them right back in.

My 2 year old loves it, and it teaches him more in depth about different vehicles in the city.

My 4 yr old begged and begged for this toy and I finally gave in when I found it on clearance. After playing with it for maybe an hour, even he said "Mommy, this was a waste of money!" If he doesn't follow the directions exactly in the order said, or tries to skip ahead, the game is unable to keep up and then he gets frustrated. I'm really glad we didn't pay anything close to full price for this useless piece of plastic

I wish they were still making the Fusion Crew creatures because they made wonderful behavior incentives for my 5 year old son. This game works something like one of those trading card games. My husband used to play "Magic" when he was in college so enjoys the Fusion Dome with my son. You stick critter halves together to create your own creature and then compete with the other player. The dome talks you through the process and anounces the name of the creatures by reading a bar code. There are lights and sounds and the loser gets "flushed" down the shoot. My son can be pretty hard on his toys and this one seems to be holding up well.

My 4 year old son got this for Christmas. He'd been asking for it for months. He absolutely loves it! He's always asking for me to play it with him. I don't even think the buttons each player presses really do anything but he thinks they do. He anxiously awaits to hear who wins. It's a lot of fun for him. I imagine for older kids it may not be much fun but for 3-6 year olds it is. Not much educational value but perhaps it could teach a child how to listen and follow instructions.

Very nice toys. I bought them because my daughter has a Disney Ballerina Studio that has a magnetic floor, and it only came with one doll. The product is now discontinued and I heard about these ponies working well with the studio, and they do! They dance around and twirl and spin with the doll.

I bought these two ponies from Amazon when there was free shipping/handling for Toys 'r Us purchases, so I got a great deal, only [...] for two ponies! I am a collector of old and new My Little Ponies, and these two ponies are two of my favorites from the new collection. Their poses are very cute, and the glitter on their foreheads and "cutie mark," tinsel in their manes, and the extra little design by their heart on their hoof makes them extra special glitter ponies. Even if you don't get free shipping, these two ponies are a great deal and by far the cutest in the new My Little Pony collection--and I've only seen them on Amazon!

Forsythia is the red pony, and Merriweather is the yellow one. These are also, pretty and adorable ponies. I also recommend the 4 ponies in a giftbox, and many more. :-D

I'll admit, I've got some beefs with the Mini Series of the Halo toyline. Namely: None of it is to scale! This Ghost and the Brute included are all out of proportion with the Warthog, which itself isn't exactly right. I've measured it compared to the real model from the game, and it is grandiosly oversized, making it impossible for the Mini Chief or the Mini Marines to fit on it. The Brute figure is kind of fun to play with, but the Ghost is pretty rigid and mainly made for displaying. The front Guns move, and I use them to keep the figure from rocking back and forth. It has a nice paint job, and despite the bad scale and accuracy it is a good looking peice.
