A fun way to spend time with the family!
I,my wife and 2 daughters have long been fans of the Friends TV show (in fact we own the 10 Season Box set). I got The Friends Edition as a gift for my wife, who is not realyy a game board enthusiest. Well, we had the most fun playing it. I was laughingly surprised at how little I knew and how much the other members of my family knew! I heartily recommend it as a fun, entertaining way to spend with friends, family and anyone looking for a good time!

Harry Potter Scene It? is Harry Potter-iffic!
I love this game! I remember everything I read, and I love Harry Potter, but this game can be difficult sometimes. My friends who have only seen the movies can even answer questions, and my little brother and his friends love playing it.
My only complaint would be that sometimes the movie clips are too long, especially for the die-hard Potter fans, who have seen all of the movies enough. The questions on the clips sometimes do not go hand in hand also.
One other complaint is that if you are afraid of some of the darker elements of Harry Potter, you might get a little creeped out by the dark music and colorings. My younger brother has closed his eyes on two occasions, so only younger kids MIGHT be a little scared.
Other than that, there is nothing wrong with this game. If you love Harry Potter, either book or movie form, or you want to learn more about it, this game is perfect!

Great for family game night!!
We bought the Scene It? Harry Potter Edition for our family game night. It covers the first 3 Harry Potter Movies; Sorcerors Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Askaban.
My son is in kindergarten and is only 6, but reads very well (at a 2nd grade reading level), so we were able to easily play the game, read the questions on the screen etc... Another reviewer mentioned that the movie clips are very long (30 minutes!); this is not true. I would guess they were 2-3 minutes long at the most. We also enjoyed the "Hidden Scenes" where something is missing from the scene (person, wand, hat, chair etc...) and that was really fun.
The nice thing about this game is, you can condense the gameboard and have a quick match when you are limited on time (perhaps if it's close to bedtime!). We really enjoyed it and this morning when my son woke up, he pulled the game out and was playing it alone, while my husband and I slept in- you can't beat that!
I wouldn't call ourselves huge Harry Potter fans, but for those that own the movies and have watched them a couple of times, this should be enjoyable.

    lasted 5 minutes
My kids took them out of the packages (I bought 2) and the ball had broken off within 5 minutes, and then they proceeded to hit each other with the paddles so I had to dispose of them.
    Waste of money.

buy the regular versions, not the combo
The game is no where near as good as the 90's and 80's games by themselves. I own all three now and am just going to use the questions from the combo game to add questions to the other two games. There are a lot fewer questions and it seems like it is a travel type edition because they shortened the game tremendously.

This is a fun travel trivia game. It's also the perfect game to play if you don't have much time and want to play a trivia game quickly. The questions are interesting, ranging from politics to music and film. Overall, I really enjoy this game for the purpose it provides. But this is definitely not a party game.

Lots of fun pop culture trivia!
How much do you remember from the 80's and 90's? Test your memory and trivia knowledge against your friends in The 80's and 90's Combo Trivia Game from Intellinitiative. In this fun, fast-paced game, players race through a decade while fielding various pop culture questions.

The game board is small and simple: it basically has only one square for each year of the combined decades (so, after Start, the next section is 1980/1990, followed by 1981/1991, 1982/1992, etc.) Game play is straightforward: The first player moves his pawn to the 1980/1990 square, and rolls the "Category" die. If the "Skip" side comes up on the die, the player may move one square forward, without having to answer a question. He then rolls again. If one of the five categories (events, sports, music, movies, and television) comes up on the die, the player must select a decade, and answer a trivia question from that category for that decade.

If the player answers correctly, he must then guess whether the event took place in the exact year his pawn is currently on. For example, let's say his pawn is on the 1982/1992 spot. He chooses a 90's question, and is asked, say, about the movie Titanic. If he guesses the right answer, he must then say whether or not that movie premiered in 1992-which of course, it didn't. (Players do not need to guess the exact year; just guessing "yes" or "no" on the year in question is sufficient.)

If the player gets both questions correct, he moves his pawn to the next square and his turn continues. If he gets either the main question or the year wrong, then his turn is over and play passes to the next person. The first player to reach the end wins.

I found this game to be a lot of fun, although I was embarrassed to find out how much pop culture I'd forgotten! There is also a 70's version of this game out, as well as an 80's version and a 90's version (non-combo). Check out Intellinitiative's website for more details.

If you find yourself watching a lot of VH-1's "I Love the 80's" (or 90's)-and actually recognizing the references more often than not-then I definitely recommend picking up a copy of this game. It's quick, for a trivia game, and tons of fun.

    Hard, but fun.
If you are not a literature professor or don't read everything that the library gets in, you will probably find this game extremely difficult. On the other hand, you now have a book list.

    More questions please!
I agree with the last reviewer that this is way overpriced for having only 300 questions cards--half of which are for children! There are PLENTY of Disney trivia games geared towards children. It would have been nice to have a Trivial Pursuit version for adults--after all, many adults grew up with Disney and know the material better than today's kids. This should have had as as many questions as other versions.

Additionally, "children" don't find the kids' cards much fun either. Lots of pictures of characters asking, "who am I?" Come on!--my nieces know these movies by heart. Give them a little credit!

Overall: this game is beautiful in design, but doesn't have much replayability. The few questions included are fun and can be challenging. The box is sturdy, and well packed like other versions. Perhaps Disney will release addtional question cards....

    Book Lover's Trivial Pursuit
It can't compare to the original Trivial Pursuit, but for a specialty product, this is pretty good. There are some modern authors/books that I had never heard of, but the children's and classics categories were answerable, for the most part. Like other versions of Trivial Pursuit, there were definitely favored authors/books that came up several times, which makes guessing a little easier. My main problem was getting my non-English major friends to play with me...

      Cadoo is a Cadon't
I bought Cadoo one Christmas for my nephew because he thought it would be fun. He was wrong. I played it one time with him and while we were playing he got bored. There is no real point to this game.

      Hullabaloo
This is a great game. My 2 1/2 and 6 both play it together. It helps the little one to learn colors and shapes and identifying pictures and most importantly to listen to instructions. Its a fun action game because the speaker calls out the new location to find and tells the players how to get there -- spin to a red, crawl to a square. It is even fun to play alone. I definitely recommend this.

Great fun for kids of different ages
I had this game on my Amazon wish list, and a good friend purchased it as a "big brother" gift for my two eldest when their baby brother was born. Since they had lots of toys already, I kept it hidden in my closet for the right day... when the baby would be awake, the downstairs neighbors would be gone, etc.

Well, I pulled it out today, popped the batteries in, and voila! Like magic, my normally squabbling 3 1/2 and 6 1/2 year olds were giggling, bouncing, and leaping all over the place. The great thing is that it's an active game, but they have to listen to the game's instructions, so they don't get overly wild. This is a terrific game for a small birthday party (though you can order spare game pads from Cranium and use it for bigger groups or classes), or just to bring out when the kids are bored and can't go burn off energy outside.

The game is really simple; it comes with the battery-operated pod and 16 pads that you scatter on the floor. They vary in shapes, colors, and emblems (things like animals, instruments, and food). The players have to listen to the pod's instructions (ie "spin over to a circle! Touch your nose to an animal!"), and after a certain number of instructions, the game will tell the players to freeze, and announce that if anyone is standing on a certain pad, they're the winner, and should take a bow or do a funky dance.

I was thrilled to have a game that's active and something that both my kids could play together -- since it's essentially a listening-to-instructions game of luck, one wouldn't necessarily beat the other.

This is a terrific example of how well-thought-out the Cranium games are. I'm sure we'll get lots of use out of this!

Didn't we just come out of the 90s?
I can't believe this! I remember at the begining of the 90s, people treated the 80s as a LLLOOOOOOOOONNNGGG time ago, I completely different era. I was only 5 when the 90s started, but it still drove me mad in the 90s when people talked about how LLLLLOOONNNGG ago the 80s were. Whenever people in the 90s said things like "Oh, that happened way back there in the 80s" I'd just get a confused look on my face! It was just a few years ago people!

Now, what does this have to do with this game? Well, people today are doing the exact same thing! They treat the 90s as being way back there, even though we're just a few years removed from the 90s! The news, music, and culture of the 90s are not way back in another time. As far as I'm concerned, they still fall under the category of "current events" as opposed to the "ancient history" label people are starting to give them.

Its 2005 people! The 90s aren't ancient yet!

Great potential, but does not deliver
While most of what the other reviews state is entirely true, they fail to include the fact that the questions are horribly inconsistant. Some seem like desperate attempts to hit some quota derived from marketing folks, as they ask silly things as who owns Crayola or questions obviously from other eras What was Jackie O's maiden name?--she was married in the 50s). Other than that, it's quite fun. I'd prefer 25% fewer questions if they were 100% consistant.

A great game for any Gen-X'er
If you're like my friends and me and spent your teens and early 20's in the 90's, you'll LOVE this game. Great questions dealing with music, movies, tv, events, and sports. The great thing is that most of the questions really make you think a bit (it's not a super-easy no-brainer like some of the other games out there). We set up 3 teams of 2 and the game took about an hour, hour and a half (obviously, more teams = longer playing time).

This game will definitely be a staple in all of our gaming nights. A sure bet!
