A fun game, but not as fun as I thought after reading prior reviewsI purchased this game for my father because he loves games like Balderdash that flex each player's creative muscle. We played the game that same day and we enjoyed it, but we would change the rules a bit so that players would only move forward based on getting things correct rather than in addition to rolling dice and moving forward that way (which adds luck to the mix in addition to skill). Although there were several LOL momments, there weren't as many as I expected after reading the rave reviews on this site. There might have been more had we all not known each other so well.
AWESOME "MUST-HAVE" GAME!This is the best game ever! I take it to all of my family functions where we play games and everyone LOVES it. It helps us learn about each other and we always end up laughing a lot. It's great fun! A must-have! If I could only have 1 game, this would be IT! I can't say enough about this game. Gotta have it :)
Easily my favorite board game.I usually don't write reviews for products, and am doing so only out of sheer love for this particular game. As can be easily gathered from other reviews, Loaded Questions simply involves navigating a playing board and reading the question on a drawn card corresponding to the color you landed on. The categories don't seem to matter. All are fun.
At this point the roller asks the question, and everyone else at the table answers it. This is the only game I've played where it's more fun to play during an opponents' turn, particularly if you and your family are creative.
It's fun to answer the questions honestly, but much more fun and challenging to goof around, and even if you do the game remains entirely playable. If members of your family and friends give you sassy answers of questionable integrity, knowing them well enough you can still guess by their sense of humor who said what.
Now onto the bad, which really doesn't need detract from the game. There are some questions which simply have the players answer something on a scale from 1 to 10. These questions aren't a lot of fun to answer, are difficult to guess, and generally we just skip them when playing. In addition to this, there are a very few questions that may be either slightly inappropriate for kids, or just not possible to answer. Questions about dating and kissing and such. These are very rare though. (I've seen one of each.) The least appropriate question I've seen asks what the players' favorite body part is. It can be taken innocently enough, but the game is obviously begging for certain answers.
Overall, the game is a blast, and even more so if you're willing to be creative with it.

A fun way to spend time with the family!I,my wife and 2 daughters have long been fans of the Friends TV show (in fact we own the 10 Season Box set). I got The Friends Edition as a gift for my wife, who is not realyy a game board enthusiest. Well, we had the most fun playing it. I was laughingly surprised at how little I knew and how much the other members of my family knew! I heartily recommend it as a fun, entertaining way to spend with friends, family and anyone looking for a good time!
Harry Potter Scene It? is Harry Potter-iffic!I love this game! I remember everything I read, and I love Harry Potter, but this game can be difficult sometimes. My friends who have only seen the movies can even answer questions, and my little brother and his friends love playing it.
My only complaint would be that sometimes the movie clips are too long, especially for the die-hard Potter fans, who have seen all of the movies enough. The questions on the clips sometimes do not go hand in hand also.
One other complaint is that if you are afraid of some of the darker elements of Harry Potter, you might get a little creeped out by the dark music and colorings. My younger brother has closed his eyes on two occasions, so only younger kids MIGHT be a little scared.
Other than that, there is nothing wrong with this game. If you love Harry Potter, either book or movie form, or you want to learn more about it, this game is perfect!

Great for family game night!!We bought the Scene It? Harry Potter Edition for our family game night. It covers the first 3 Harry Potter Movies; Sorcerors Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Askaban.
My son is in kindergarten and is only 6, but reads very well (at a 2nd grade reading level), so we were able to easily play the game, read the questions on the screen etc... Another reviewer mentioned that the movie clips are very long (30 minutes!); this is not true. I would guess they were 2-3 minutes long at the most. We also enjoyed the "Hidden Scenes" where something is missing from the scene (person, wand, hat, chair etc...) and that was really fun.
The nice thing about this game is, you can condense the gameboard and have a quick match when you are limited on time (perhaps if it's close to bedtime!). We really enjoyed it and this morning when my son woke up, he pulled the game out and was playing it alone, while my husband and I slept in- you can't beat that!
I wouldn't call ourselves huge Harry Potter fans, but for those that own the movies and have watched them a couple of times, this should be enjoyable.

Hard, but fun.If you are not a literature professor or don't read everything that the library gets in, you will probably find this game extremely difficult. On the other hand, you now have a book list.
More questions please!I agree with the last reviewer that this is way overpriced for having only 300 questions cards--half of which are for children! There are PLENTY of Disney trivia games geared towards children. It would have been nice to have a Trivial Pursuit version for adults--after all, many adults grew up with Disney and know the material better than today's kids. This should have had as as many questions as other versions.
Additionally, "children" don't find the kids' cards much fun either. Lots of pictures of characters asking, "who am I?" Come on!--my nieces know these movies by heart. Give them a little credit!
Overall: this game is beautiful in design, but doesn't have much replayability. The few questions included are fun and can be challenging. The box is sturdy, and well packed like other versions. Perhaps Disney will release addtional question cards....

Book Lover's Trivial PursuitIt can't compare to the original Trivial Pursuit, but for a specialty product, this is pretty good. There are some modern authors/books that I had never heard of, but the children's and classics categories were answerable, for the most part. Like other versions of Trivial Pursuit, there were definitely favored authors/books that came up several times, which makes guessing a little easier. My main problem was getting my non-English major friends to play with me...

Okay, but nothing like the real buzztime triviaI got this as a gift because I love to play trivia in restraunts. Yes, the game is fun, but there is so much more than can be improved. What I do like is the wireless remotes, it makes it much easier to play and be comfortable and play with larger groups of people. But, the graphics are horrible, sometimes even hard to read. There is no where on your remote to tell what number you have chosen, so if you pushed the wrong one you dont know it and never know unless it is the right answer. Also, starting the game takes forever! The worst part of the game is after only playing 2 games, the questions start to repeat themselves! For the price of this game, this should not happen so quickly. The games says ther are 750 questions, but you will get atleast 2 or more repeats in each game which takes away from the fun. I wish they had made it better quality for the price. I will keep playing it though because I need my trivia fix, but the scene it game is not only funner, but you get more for your money!
Really Fun Trivia! This game is Trivia in a very fun and all-inclusive way. I bought this game for my family about a month ago. We love Trivial Pursuit and play often. I thought this would be a nice change.
We set the game up on Thanksgiving. The whole family loved it and there was an on-going trivia tournament the entire day and through the evening. It was hard to get people away from the game to eat Thanksgiving dinner!
In my opinion the best and most distinct reason this game is great is the "all-play" scenario it creates. My kids (ages 9-12) don't get bored because there is zero down time. Every player plays on every question. You are always on your toes...you play one question after another after another. This is a real "buzz-in" style game...like TV game shows. The controllers are wireless too, so it is family room friendly!
Also, I rated this game highly educational. Trivia is always mind stimulating. This game follows up the correct answer with supplementary facts! Very informational. I give this item a big THUMBS UP! We will be giving the kids game cartridges in their stockings this Christmas! If you like trivia, you got to get this game!

Great all-family funWe played Buzztime with our family and its a great game for parents to play with their kids. The questions covered a wide range of topics and it was fun to learn something new that we didn't know. I'd recommend this for your next family night.

Balderdash

- The categories contain real but unbelievable content about People, Words, Initials, Movies and Laws
- Players make up phony answers to these categories, read them off along with the correct answer, and then vote on which answer is real.
- Score points for guessing correctly and for bluffing the other players

Balderdash 2This is the second Balderdash game our family has purchased. Always good for many laughs!
The ultimate bluffing gameI started playing Boulder Dash back in 1996 and since then it has become one of my favourite games. There is no limit to the number of players that can participate in the game. Actually the more that are playing the more fun it is. You DO NOT HAVE TO KNOW the meaning of the words to have fun. What you need is a wild imagination and good skills in bluffing. The game now includes more categories such as dates, initials and movie titles but still the word category I think is the best. If the cards that are provided in the box are finished no problem you can use scrap paper and honestly I have never used the board of the game while playing.
Be ready for rounds of loud laughs and why not be ready to enrich your vocabulary with words you will never use anyway!

BalderdashBalderdash is a riot! It keeps my family in stitches! My entire family is so full of bull we play this easily. Playing Balderdash is a family tradition after Thanksgiving & Christmas dinners and everything in-between. Anytime there is a family gathering the Balderdash game comes out! My grown sons and their wives are full of bull, the grandkids are now joining in, but, it's tough to out bull the mother of bulls! Gotta Love It! Jane

Cadoo is a Cadon'tI bought Cadoo one Christmas for my nephew because he thought it would be fun. He was wrong. I played it one time with him and while we were playing he got bored. There is no real point to this game.
HullabalooThis is a great game. My 2 1/2 and 6 both play it together. It helps the little one to learn colors and shapes and identifying pictures and most importantly to listen to instructions. Its a fun action game because the speaker calls out the new location to find and tells the players how to get there -- spin to a red, crawl to a square. It is even fun to play alone. I definitely recommend this.
Great fun for kids of different agesI had this game on my Amazon wish list, and a good friend purchased it as a "big brother" gift for my two eldest when their baby brother was born. Since they had lots of toys already, I kept it hidden in my closet for the right day... when the baby would be awake, the downstairs neighbors would be gone, etc.
Well, I pulled it out today, popped the batteries in, and voila! Like magic, my normally squabbling 3 1/2 and 6 1/2 year olds were giggling, bouncing, and leaping all over the place. The great thing is that it's an active game, but they have to listen to the game's instructions, so they don't get overly wild. This is a terrific game for a small birthday party (though you can order spare game pads from Cranium and use it for bigger groups or classes), or just to bring out when the kids are bored and can't go burn off energy outside.
The game is really simple; it comes with the battery-operated pod and 16 pads that you scatter on the floor. They vary in shapes, colors, and emblems (things like animals, instruments, and food). The players have to listen to the pod's instructions (ie "spin over to a circle! Touch your nose to an animal!"), and after a certain number of instructions, the game will tell the players to freeze, and announce that if anyone is standing on a certain pad, they're the winner, and should take a bow or do a funky dance.
I was thrilled to have a game that's active and something that both my kids could play together -- since it's essentially a listening-to-instructions game of luck, one wouldn't necessarily beat the other.
This is a terrific example of how well-thought-out the Cranium games are. I'm sure we'll get lots of use out of this!
