I LOVE this toy. It is so cool because there is a lot of testing you can do on fibers, hair, ink, and blood. You can flip to different pages in the case book and there are codes you can crack too. I have learned a lot from it. I bet other kids would like it if they are into crime scene stuff and mysteries. I can't wait for more cases to come out because they are long, they keep you busy, and they are fun!

This toy is not a good idea if you have kids. They will expect to play with it and that will mean parents have to give it up. All CSI fans will LOVE this, old and young. We all had a blast and it was educational to boot. Every once in a while, a toy comes by that parents just love and this is it. I can't think of one thing wrong with the "Discovery Whodunit? Forensics Lab."
If a product can teach your child, bring the family together, and be fun at the same time, it gets an 'A plus' in my book. This is one product I highly recommend!

It's the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are not enough cases, but it is super COOL. You get to do hair analysis,blood analysis (not real blood),ink analysis,fiber analysis,tire track analysis,hand writing analysis,and police codes.

My daughter (6) put this on her wishlist for Christmas and finally got it for her birthday. She loves it. It's educational and fun. But it is over priced. It's basically photocopied papers with a very cheap magnifying glass, cheap butterfly net, cheap binoculars, plaster mix and mesh. If the price is not a consideration, then go for it. She loves it and received it as a gift ... so we're all happy here. I would suggest you put in on your child's wishlist and have someone else overspend!

My son got these pieces of styrofoam being passed off as an airplane for his birthday last week. How much life do you think a styrofoam airplane that shoots 200 feet into the air have??? I probably got two decent flights watching the plane come down full speed before the tail broke off and one of the wings snapped. Seven days later, the trigger lets air out constantly making the whole toy unusable. How can Nat'l Geographic put their name on such junk??

National Geographic Jet Hawk Glider was opened from an undamaged sealed box as a gift for my grandson. It had dirt on its nose, a broken forward wing, both tail rudders were bent and the air pump completely failed to work. This toy had been obviously used and returned. Purchased this item from Target. Recommend avoid ordering this product online or from any vendor sight unseen.

Just a few comments about this toy: It is fragile. One tree and you will likely be buying replacement parts from UNCLEMILTON.COM.

Also launcher is tricky - it only fires when it is held at a 70 degree angle and takes a little while to get used too. There is also a ball in the launcher that rattles around - this is part of the safety mechanism that enforces the correct angle is used for launching.

Getting the plane to glide is also tricky - adjustments were needed to the tail to get the plane to not dive into the ground.

Once you iron out your technique and get the plane tuned, the plane is a lot of fun but always be wary of trees and other obstructions!
