I know its a toy but come on.
I know that its a toy but it could have been a bit better I mean I couldn't even pick up something only 2 inchs in the groung. Dont waste your life and money with this.

      I Bought Trash
this thing sucked. it couldnt detect worth crap. oh except for the gum wrappers and the metal under concrete. I give it zero out of five stars but it made me put one. I lost a coin testing it. DO NOT BUY! unless you want to waste time and money.

      Don't waste your money
This one is junk. It does detect metal 1/8" deep. We buried 2 coins a 1/4" deep in our sand box. Now I have to stop my 5 year old from screaming that we lost 2 quarters. Guess it is time to get the BIG shovel and sifter and find those quarters!

      Tough to launch
My son got this for his 8th birthday from grandma. In concept, it seemed like a great toy -- hydrogen power. The first issue was the fact it required 6 D Cell betteries (so add that to the price!) The assembly is pretty straight forward, but is adult or teen level, IMO. Definitely a parental project. Lots of gaskets and such required. The parts seem pretty sturdy, but didn't get much use: after a very long "charge" (much longer than the instructions say), we got the rocket to fire one time, and it went pretty high. But we could never get it to operate again. The hydrogen generator would bubble, but we never got the "green" light. Maybe older kids with more patience could fiddle with it and make it work better, but it seemed like a lot of buck for little bang.

      safe and fun
My 8 year old had this assembled in 5 minutes without reading the instructions. We had about 25 sucessfull launches the first session.
There is a slight delay between when you push the button and when the rocket actually takes off. You must pull the cord to deactivate the safety, and the safety is a little finicky, sometimes we had to pull it out rather firmly in order to disengage it properly. I was a little disappointed in the cycle time, it takes 2-3 minutes to recharge, but the rocket blasts off with a very satisfying POP!
The instructions are too detailed in unimportant areas, and skip over other things, but they're better than Chineese instructions.
Overall, a very fun toy that will entertain for more than 2 minutes like some toys we buy.
      Yes it takes batteries.

Not for kids under 12 years old
While the finished product--a working phone with see-through cover and flashing lights--is great, this toy is definitely not easy to assemble. It took a bright 9-year-old, her 40-year-old aunt, and the child's grandfather (well-versed in electronics) two hours or more to finally get all the pieces in place! The parts seem to be well made and the phone really *does* work, but the directions are very difficult to understand and there was no explanation whatsoever of how a phone works. In short, what was supposed to be a fun "learning experience" turned out to be an exercise in frustration. This kit is probably best suited for teenagers or adults who already have some background in electronics.

      Very Cool
I thought that it was really cool to put together and I cantalk to my friends all night long!

Not for Children, Not Built to Last
My daughter received this and immediately loved it. When it broke, we went and got another one for her (exchange), but t never worked right. We tried to figure out the problem with, attempted to contact the manufacturer, but was not successful. The store told us that they couldn't exchange it again because all of the one's they had were already exchanged. She's completely heartbroken. Cheap working parts. She was very patient with it, but it just isn't made to last. A wonderful idea for a toy, but not a very good product.

It's alright, just be patient with it
The first time I bought this and found out about it, I always wanted it. Tried it out and it broke, send the receiept to the manufacturer and gave me a replacement and finally it worked, the things i dont like is that it gets jammed too many times and the yarn keeps getting stuck to one hook which can mess up the item. My sister loves using this item so ill give this 3 stars

      9 Year Old Loves It!
This definitely rates as a "10" on the Christmas gift list. My daughter - who is not so crafty - was able to knit a tube scarf in less than an hour. There were some dropped stitches, but I think it was more due to user error or inattention than from the machine.

My daughter followed the instructions exactly as was spelled out (directions are very clear and easy to follow), and she had no problems with the set up. We've been having a little challenge with the flat panel, but again, I think it's because my daughter takes a lot of breaks and can't remember if she was turning clockwise or counterclockwise.

My biggest tip to share is to work slowly so you can watch the machine as it picks up each stitch. There were a few times that the yarn didn't catch, but all you have to do is push the yarn into the hook. I'd expect more if it were a professional machine, but it isn't. The knitting machine is made of plastic and will not last indefinitely, but hey, for a child's toy, it's great for the price.

It's a great confidence builder because she can make something, in a relatively short time, that she can wear. Plus with the eyelash yarn, it is very forgiving on any human error defects.
