Great Science Kit!
My seven year-old son is obsessed with science. We buy science kits like other people buy food. So I can compare this kit to a lot of other brands and say that this one is one of the best I have seen. It had everything you need included (there is no need to buy any weird supposed "common household items" to do the experiments). You do need baking soda and vinegar, but that is it. And I do consider those to be true common household items.

The rainbow wand looks really cool, even my three teens were impressed with it.

They give really detailed directions and every experiment worked. I also like that they tell you things like how to clean up the sand. We had bought martian sand from another company and I had no idea how to get the water out of the cup without sending the sand down the drain.

Having priced many of the items in this kit individually, I feel it was a really good deal.

I do agree with the other reviewer that it would be nice if they included more than one piece of goldenrod paper.

Nice Pick
My 7 yr old chose this and we have had fun working with it. I wish it came with more than one sheet of coloring changing paper, but other than that, I'm satisfied. It should be priced a bit lower.

    School Project
An excellent project for your child's school report. We purchased the Velociraptor kit for our 8 year old daughter not knowing what to expect. After opening the package my wife came up with the clever idea of pouring melted chocolate chips into the dinosaur molds, instead of using the plaster mix that comes with the kit. We experimented with white chocolate chips and created realistic looking dinosaur bones! We buried these edible bones in ground up Oreo Cookies. What a thrill to see our daughter's 2nd grade class excavate these delectible prehistoric fossils! We can't wait to purchase other kits in the Eyewitness series!

    Good product, good customer support.
I bought this product for my 6-year-old daughter. When I first opened the box, I was a little disappointed. I thought it was a little over priced for 2 small bags of powder and some instructions.

On top of that, the "mixture" didn't harden (even after 5 days it still wouldn't harden). So we threw it away and called the company's customer support number on the instructions. They were friendly and helpful. They shipped a new bag via 2 day air to Hawaii for free.

We tried it again, only this time used about 1/3rd the amount of water listed on the instructions and it worked perfectly. My daughter loved it. She created the mold and painted it.

Overall, it's a good product. It allows children to follow instructions and create something rather than simply "play."

    Great and fun!
Mold of hand turned out really well, could even see the fingerprints and fingernails.

What's fun for 2 is not fun for many
I played this game one on one with another person and we had a fairly good time. Even though we could not answer over half the questions, they were multiple choice and we learned a lot. But once we took the game to a party with about 6 players, the game lost its luster. Not only did we all not know the answers to most of the questions, we weren't guessing correctly either. Couple that with the fact it seemed forever before it was your turn again, the game was a flop.

Maybe if we played in teams it would have been better, but it just didn't work out for a group.

Wit's End is the best Trivia game by far....
I have collected all the Trivia games out there. And boy am I happy I have added Wit's End to my collection. It's smart, it's fun, it's entertaining and oh, did I say it was smart, because it is! This is the best type of game to take out at parties. The game generates conversations and exercises some mental stimulation. I had to give it my thumbs up in public....it deserves the press! Don't be without this one in social gatherings.

    Fantastic, Challenging, Super Game!
What can I say. This is a fantastic game. You know when you keep seeing movies and are often disappointed and keep waiting for the blockbuster. Well, WIT'S END is the blockbuster. I can't tell you how much fun we had playing this game. It is a trivia and knowledge based game but with a twist. Not only are you challenged by the questions, but the question types make the game even more interesting. There are four different card categories which ask different types of questions. The TEASER category, asks you to figure out the relationship; the SEQUENCE category asks you to put people, places and things in sequence; the ODD-1-OUT category asks you to decide which thing does not belong and the WILD CARD category has many different types of fun question types. As if the great categories where not enough, the questions cover a great range of knowledge; including pop culture, music, literature, geography, history; science....just everything! Better yet, there are detailed answers to every question. So you are not just left with a one world answer, but an explanation. You actually learn a thing or two of interesting facts and details. The questions are smart (real smart!), not the dumbdown version in other Trivia games. I cannot stress to you how fantastic this game is....that is if you are up for the challenge!

      iQuest
This is a fantastic gift for children from 10 to 13. My 11 (almost 12) year old absolutely loves it. She took it to school to her Social Studies and Science classes and the teachers both loved it and pulled a pop quiz on their students. It is timely information and a great tool for teaching.

        Don't bother for California
Current California math textbooks aren't supported in this cartridge. The lesson outlines on Leaprog.COM do not correspond to math curriculum either.

Rather ironic given the Leap Frog is located in this state.

Does NOT include all necessary materials!
I am very disappointed in receiving this kit! Really all you get are the instructions for the experiments (easily enough found in a book or on the Internet) and a few supplies. For example for the volcano, included is 2 sheets construction paper, pumice, magnifying glass, black paint and paint brush. You need to supply newspaper, top of a shoebox, 2 1/2 liter plastic bottles, flour, water, vinegar, red food coloring, baking soda, liquid dish detergent and tape! I don't think this kit helps much in making the volcano!!! Doesn't seem worth $30 to me...

Fun, educational, and all supplies included.
Great kits. My children loved them and I only needed to supply some very common household items everything else was included. Getting three complete kits for this price is a great deal and hours of fun.

        fun and awesome science kit
This set contained 3 great kits and provided hours of fun for my children.

It worked very well and it was very easy to use! I enjoyed the chapter challenges and pop quizzes but, during the pop quiz it ran out of questions because I was going so fast and answering the questions right. During the chapter challenge they used the same questions, they could have at least rephrased the questions because that will lead to us memorizing every answer to every single question and that will start to make it less interesting.
